Depending on their job, wealth, and other factors, clothing people wore may have varied. But it was not uncommon for women to wear dresses(Some more high end than others ) or cotton print shirts and skirts. It was common to see a man in a bit more casual clothes rather than suits almost all around like previous decades.

During this era, the society trends were changing. The women were wearing dresses with strapped-in girdles and pads underneath, while the men experienced a change in suits and daily wear. Men usually wore knickers to just below their knees, while women wore elaborate designs and hooped skirts.

When President Nixon took office in 1969 he saw it as a god given opportunity for him to take charge of the country. Schedule one being the most addictive with no medical purpose and schedule five being less addictive with medicinal purposes. In 1973 He created the Drug Enforcement Administration or DEA, agents who enforced drug related laws and executed the punishments. The DEA also works to stop the trafficking of and distribution of drugs.

First of all, coats and outerwear was usually made from browns, dark blues, and usually covered in large buttons. Also, if a women had money she would wear wool or fur jackets. In the 1920s, women also wore different kinds of coats. For example, some coats were long that stretched below the knee and others were short coats that were mainly used for sport occasions. Cardigans were also in style at the time. They were typically made of wool and had a few buttons with or without pockets. Men wore fur coats for everything they went to, and they wore leather jackets when they wanted to go to a place where they could play sports for fun. The world leads to the introduction of drugs and open up the minds. A population university professors were preaching “ tune and drop out”, they were promoting drug use in America. As most of us know, this path would lead us down the path to drug abuse and away from traditional family value. Not only where the musicians trying drugs, but also some of their fans were using it too, they would do it while listening to their music. Most of these people trying drugs were because bands were doing it. Also, they would write songs about drug wish encourage them to try it. Another music band was the Beatles. Policies implemented prohibited the possession and distribution of narcotics (e.g. marijuana, cocaine, heroin); the punitive policies, which often resulted in hefty fines and prison sentences for violators, ultimately prompted the emergence of a black market, more potent and lethal drugs, synthetic drugs as well as led to the increase in organized crime and prison population (Bagley, 1988; Broden, 2013; Cussen & Block, 2000; Elkins, 1990; Friedman, 1991; Henderson, 1990; MacCoun, 1993; Powell, 2013). Despite the initial intention, there was rarely sufficient funding allocated towards achieving the latter goals—of promoting and advocating treatment for drug addicts (Bagley, 1988).

Leather jackets were the key to knowing who was tough and often would show who was the greasers and the ones that were not. There were women, who changed fashion, and it was in a way that became trendy such as jean shorts, and pants that were considered scandalous to some, but most felt beautiful. Stripes and polka-dots, were highly in fashion, making clothes enjoyable to wear. Though there were many new things being brought in, there were still old fashion from the previous decade, with some poodle skirts. Tight waisted dresses, with an apron skirt was a great way of saying “I am classy” and creating the new trend for young women.

In the 1960’s life was much simpler than now. They had no computers, cell phones, text messages, internet, etc. As for we do, 97% of the world’s population has technology. Back in the 60’s they communicated the old fashion way, by talking on the telephone and in person, for as we do, we talk over text message, or over technology. School was also simpler; they stuck to the basics, but also had extra curricular activities. We have all these other curricular activities (yoga, homework helper, Bou and Bell). And there were drugs back in the 60’s, they weren’t as much of a problem as they are today. Today they are illegal and they are very closely watched by the police.

Ever since the adoption of drugs being dangerous for our society, the acceptance of people have fluctuated. At the being of the 70’s and 80’s people would not allow or accept the usage of Marijuana. But the drug would only increase in popularity and surround youngster and celebrities at the time. Celebrities such as John Lennon, known worldwide consumed Marijuana. Putting the blame on this lead singer from The Beetles for popularizing the drug, Federal agents tried to take them down with home raids and privacy invasion. During the 70’s this occurred more than often as the Drug Policies were strict and government officials were trying to keep a hard hand on those whom were seen with any drugs. Throughout life, whether in a workplace, in athletics, or in a school district, chances are one may be asked to take a drug test. Each year, in the United States, there are approximately 50,000 deaths due to drugs. Drugs cause our bodies to change, depending on the reaction the drug gives off. Interactions with drugs and, “other complex social, psychological, and pharmacological factors [that have an] influence [on] the behavior of abusing individuals.” In general, most addicts cannot afford drugs, “so they raise the money through crime,” making it unsafe for the environment. Drugs are not only a risk to the people doing drugs, but are also a risk to the society and innocent people. Since there are thousands of different kinds of drugs in the world today, how can one imagine a life without drugs? The answer is simple, one cannot. Drugs are a part of everyday life, and are more common now than they used to be. Random drug testing and effective disciplinary actions with positive testing are essential to keeping workplaces, schools, and thus, society, at a low risk of harm and danger. People are not going to always comply with the law, so procedures need to be enforced strictly. The process for random drug testing and consequences should be consistent in society through employees, professional athletes, and students.
