August 7th 2012, a day I will never forget, I heard the news that would alter my life and my family’s lives forever. My uncle was in a devastating car accident that almost took his life. We were worried sick; It took what felt like forever for my family and I to see him after the accident, the doctor told us that he was lucky to survive because the chances of him making it were very slim. The cause of this accident was drunk driving, a man hit my uncle out of nowhere. The man who was driving did not get hurt and left the scene right after he hit my uncle. Many drunk drivers are careless and do not realize the damage that they can cause to many people’s lives. My uncle was lucky enough to survive an accident from drunk driving while many people are not as fortunate. Even though my uncle did not die he was still severely injured and it made my whole family aware of the pain of these accidents. These accidents can happen to anybody.
From that day forward, I decided that I had to educate myself on the harms of drunk driving and educate others about how drinking and driving is not something that should be taken lightly. I am an advocate against drunk driving not only because my uncle was a victim in an accident but because of all the innocent lives that are lost to people who should not be on the road …show more content…

I will continue to spread my knowledge about the dangers and risks of drunk driving to educate those around me so that they will not do anything that could lead them to take another person’s life or severely injure someone. I hope that my knowledge on the subject will influence other people to help me spread the word and help different people not drive under the influence. I want to make a difference so there are less deaths from drunk driving and less drunk drivers out there on the
