Presently, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education is the program of study I’m enrolled in. Within my program of study, the ELM-350 Methods and Strategies of Teaching and Integrating Social Studies and the Arts and ELM-360 Methods and Strategies of Teaching and Integrating Science and Health are some of the courses I will be taking at GCU. Generally speaking, the Methods and Strategies of Teaching and Integrating Social Studies and the Arts will provide me with strategies of history, geography, the social sciences and arts. In like manner, the Methods and Strategies of Teaching and Integrating Science and Health course will provide me with knowledge, understanding, and concepts of physical, life, earth and space sciences and health education.
My academic and research experience at University of Washington helped me realize the importance of health science and that I am suitable to study biomedical sciences. UW is well known for its rigorous health science programs and biology related courses. However, my resolve to do well does not falter a bit when I am challenged with the demanding coursework. Rather than being daunted by the challenge, I feel compelled to expose myself to the vast knowledge of the biology due to curiosity and passion. I thank UW for the hardship because it makes me more determined to go into biomedical sciences.
Courses I have taken that are relevant to my career interests are biology, chemistry, Principles of Biomedical Science, Human Body Systems, Medical Interventions, advanced genetics and applied biotechnology, and physiology. Biology and chemistry have provided me with a basic science background that is essential to understanding more advanced science courses. Human Body Systems and physiology have helped me to learn basic anatomy and physiology through hands-on activities like constructing organ systems out of clay and dissecting a cat. In addition, I learned how basic biomedical science knowledge and research methods in Principles of Biomedical Science and continued this
This course will assist me to know the general and fundamental concepts of health science.
Biomed Academy at my high school will be the most contributing factor to attain my goal. This academy has changed my perspective about medicine career. I have gained tons of knowledge from BioMed academy in these high school years. This will help me to attain my goal, because the knowledge gained from this academy will help me to be a successful medical professional. The principle of Health Science, Health Science, CNA, psychology, Biology, and anatomy and physiology are classes that prepared me to be an eligible Pre-Med applicant. I have learned from the basic structures of the body to the complex structure of the body, and from classroom to hands-on experience at the rehabilitation center. These years in BioMed Academy will help me to attain
physiology, and so much more. It is a very competitve program that requires students to maintain a high GPA and outstansding grades in certian subjects.
During my four years at Brooklyn Technical High School, I was part of the Gateway to Medicine program. I was introduced to courses such as anatomy & physiology, organic chemistry, and biology. These extremely challenging classes piqued my interest to explore a future career in health care. The Gateway to Medicine program was multi-faceted, I went from dissecting cats to learning about spontaneous de-combustion. My guidance counselor also helped prepare me to choose a career in the medical profession.
GCU has a very big variety of majors but there most popular majors are Bachelor's 58% Health Professions, 16% Business/Marketing,

Before I attended to HS 200 class, I didn’t have enough information about what kind of jobs that I could get in with bachelors of science in health science degree. I had planed to take MCAT after graduation to involve into medical program. However, my plan was changed since I attended this health science class because of the assignments that I have done during this semester for the class, such as the research of the graduate program and the job search.
In the wake of assessing the course in my degree plan, I realized that there are a variety of courses that will bolster me towards my degree goal. After assessing the course, 5 specifically got my attention and now I am more eager to learn more about these topics. I feel the courses below will contribute significantly in my Career. In total there are 180 credit needs for my degree in health science.
Natural sciences entail subjects such as biology, chemistry, and physics, whereas formal sciences include mathematics. Although the subjects which teach computer skills, business skills, and world awareness are offered at most universities, they are not required classes, even though they are quickly becoming necessary skills in the world. The liberal arts standard curriculum needs to be adjusted to overcome the gap which exists between what students are expected to know and understand and what they are actually taught.
If enrolled in the ATC Health Science Program, I desire to be knowledgeable and successful in a medical setting. After being in this course, I would love to strengthen my passion for medicine and possess a true understanding about patient care. I aspire to learn basic levels of diagnosis; learning symptoms and recognizing them in patients. Furthermore, the rotations of observing patient treatment helps set up a basic level of medical knowledge to the students. This would also increase the knowledge of a professional bedside manner, helping patients feel more comfortable in the hospital. The ATC Health Science Program would help me to become proficient in prescribing treatment after correct diagnosis. From this course I also hope to learn
Through numerous programs, opportunities, and challenging coursework, University of Pennsylvania did not just provide its students with new knowledge that they would use in the future, but also prepare them to enter their chosen profession. At University of Pennsylvania, my learning abilities will bloom as a bud turning into a bright flower. I believe that it is important for a student to be prepare not just in the aspect of education and information but also hands-on experience. The Pre-Health Core Studies Program does just that. The program make sure that those who have immense passion in any health profession, regardless of their previous exposure to any science coursework, has their own individual course that link to their background.
