Earth was never our Home
Since the beginning of the universe out of the vast expanse of perpetual darkness and disarray of energies, every known or unknown matter and forces shaped our existence. From the cloud dust that formed nebulae to billions of stars that glittered everywhere, galaxies were born. The very dearest of them all is the Milky Way where our sun is one of its millions of stars, and most especially it is where a planet we call home belongs — earth. Earth has been in existence for over four and a half billion years and the only place where every form of life thrives, including us the human beings.
However, even before we set our fleshy feet on the earth’s soil, there have been different life forms that came before us. It all started from the single-celled organisms such as algae and bacteria evolving to multicellular organisms such as plants and animals. They were the pioneering residents of this blue planet. Everything was flourishing for a while. Numerous life forms were continually popping out. The earth that was once, quiet and barren, is now teeming with life. Organisms come in various size, shape, and composition. A shapeless amoeba that is hundreds of micron small alongside a brachiosaurus that is twenty meters tall is a good example for this. I would like to say that all of the living creatures on

We discovered the use electricity that further advances our technologies. This prompted the invention of more innovative things which truly validated our superiority. However, we tend to only focus perceptively on our own selves like how we can satisfy our never ending wants and needs and how we can make our lives even better. Because of our insatiable desire to be satisfied, we became the epiphany of selfishness by entering the age of
In his article, “What are People For”, Wendell Berry muses that technological progress serves no purpose in the grand scheme of things, cynically notes that the “higher aims of ‘technological progress’ are money and ease”. By condoning this materialistic outlook of life that afflicts society with a “cultish faith in the future”, Berry urges his audience to consider taking part in a community that appreciates life in the present. Berry heralds truth in his argument that technological advancement, even ones made with good intentions, inevitably contaminates society because it enables twisted misuse of power and serves to strain human relationships.
The evolution of that formation created the world we live in today. The earth has been in existence for a little over four point five billion years to be exact. The earth shares a story that we are still exploring. From its colorful coral reefs in bright and vibrant
Imagine waking up and looking around, only to realize that while you were asleep ninety percent of the world population had vanished. In the novel Earth Abides, George Stewart creates this scenario and makes it a reality. The novel is centered on the life of Ish, who wakes up only to find he is one of the few left on earth. Having to survive and adapt, Ish is faced with the responsibility of making contact with other survivors of the Great Disaster. In doing so, Ish meets several characters and together they form a tribe to fit the new lifestyle. Ish becomes the leader of the group and the main focus of the story; however, he is not the only important character.
Society today is in an era of new innovations and technology with futuristic gadgets and modern, scientific thinking. People are now relying on machines to do everything for them. They are starting to get lazy and creating alternative machines to perform other tasks. Transcendentalists believe that humanity is at its’ best when it is independent. Inventions like the air conditioner and the microwave create a sort of barrier that separates people from their essence of humanity. Henry David Thoreau’s “Excerpt from Walden” shows how it is better to rely on oneself rather than mere electronic devices.
When we are little we never see ourselves being homeless, we only have dreams of having a good life that has family, love, lots of money, nice cars, and big houses; we never think maybe we might end up homeless with nothing but the clothes on your back. Being American and in “the land of opportunity” we see and hear of endless possibilities, but everyone does not get to enjoy the possibilities because the possibilities are not really endless. Homelessness in America is a persistent, complex, and widely-occurring problem that incorporates many economic, social, and psychological dimensions. After years of war and economic decline, the ranks of the homelessness have grown to include
Scientists have arranged parameters that all life must fall in, to be classified as life. This classification system has worked with all forms of life that we have found with
Earth as we all know it's Associate in Nursing improbably complicated and fragile network of interconnected systems that have developed slowly over the last four.5 billion years more or less. From the ashes of the massive Bang, this planet emerged as a mass of energy and components. From that new born mass of energy and components evolved structured, dynamic systems of solids, liquids, and gasses. The evolution of this planet continued to unfold over billions of years in such a novel method that eventually conditions arose with the flexibility to foster life.
of the actions and events around him /her. Due to the nature of the human mind in which we use to improvise upon existing methods of improving quality of life and comforts, the world has evolved into a place of complex technological development. The influence
This chapter tells us how the earth formed and all of the different cycles it went through to get where it is today. It goes on to illustrate the beginning of life from single cell to multi-cell. How life would end and then come back with different creatures each time.
This world is ruled by microbes. Ever since the beginning of the Earth 4.54 billion years ago, microbes have been here for about half of it. Humans, on the other hand, have been here for the blink of an eye. This time difference is how Ed Yong begins his book I Contain Multitudes: The Microbes Within Us and a Gander View of Life. He condenses the entire history of earth into one calendar year.
For the purposes of reducing confusion the world that we live in, the air we breathe, the universe that is generally accepted as the real world, and the felling and presence of our bodies will be referred to as “home”.
The beings who first created the first life forms were Gaia or Earth and Uranus or Sky. Gaia emerged from chaos and gave birth to Uranus or Sky. Gaia then married Uranus or Sky and had many children together
With Hazen’s blend of storytelling and science he really showed me the origins of Earth and the origins of life on Earth. He starts at 4.5 billion years ago when our solar system came together from cosmic debris. He describes the Big Bang (Big Thwack) from a wandering asteroid that knocked off a piece of Earth, which at the time was molten to make our Moon. The creation of the oceans and continents, which he describes, are fed by Earth’s “inner heat”. He then moves to the photosynthetic organisms and their impact on our atmosphere, and the rapid growth of algae in the shallow coastal waters. He then talked about how the first primitive life evolved around 545 million years ago indicated in the fossil records and it endured the threats of disasters,
Planet Earth is a very unique place, being as it is populated by both living and nonliving objects and organisms. While both are in abundance throughout our world, there are very stringent categories that separate the two from each other. These categories include what they're made up of, whether or not they grow, are able to reproduce, or respond to stimuli.
H-O-M-E 4 letters with deep meaning. Home is our shelter, our family, and place where your heart is. Earth is our home, our live depend on what the earth provide and we cannot live a second without the thing that the earth provides. At the beginning, God have created the earth completely balance with its function. The forest stands as the heart of the earth because trees provide human oxygen and absorb the carbon dioxide. The earth cooled, the water vapor condensed and fell in torrential downpours at the right distance of the sun not too far and not too near. The earth perfect balance enables to conserve water. The water cut channel is like the veins of the earth body. Everything has been designed perfectly link to each other’s. We cannot imagine if the living things in the earth did not link to each other, how can a human survive. Trees cannot live without water and sun, Human
