As a result of their actions, they’ll have a higher likelihood of ending up in jail or on public assistance.
“Dropping out of school does not seem to happen overnight; it comes after a long term process of frustration and failure” (Balfanz par 2). According to the National Center for Education Statistics, The population studied students attending Baltimore schools and gathered research that indicates how low test scores and report card grades as early as the 1st grade are reliable sources of whether students would later drop out(Alexander, Entwisle and Kabbani par.6). Also having to go through grade retention as early as kindergarten is also connected to why the dropout rate has reached a dynamic level (Kaufman and Bradby par.6). Whoever decides to drops out has no type of support, encouragement, or ambition starting at such a young age.

School is a difficult thing that we all go through. As we progress through the school years, it becomes more and more difficult to handle. Waking up early every morning just to sit in a classroom for eight hours does not sit well with people. There are many individuals who are in school that reach their limit, the ones that are in college often question themselves about whether or not they have made the right decision to progress on to college. People drop out of school for lots of reasons like for example they life is having a rough time like there father, or mother past away and it’s difficult to see other people in public while you are sad and have someone you love pass away. Another reason is some people do not like other people and that makes them not want to come to school and stay home and do homeschool. Most of all people do not come to school because they get make fun of or they get threatened and leave school for that. So he passed all the till 10th grade then after that he could not take it anymore he was in class with little kids while he should be in his right grade every teacher was being hard on him so they kept failing him and he told his grandma “I am sorry grandma i cant take it nomore” and so he dropped out of school because he could not pass one grade to another but tried so hard. Moreover, there are also underlying factors of race and gender and they both affect performance in high school immensely. In order to study dropout rates, focus should be put on the group of students at risk of dropping out.
Adolescents today are forced to face the intensified stressors of life in our high pressured society and the cognitive, physiological, and emotional changes that take place throughout this stage of development. As a result, the rates of many psychopathologies increase significantly among adolescents ages 10–16. Extensive research that shows that anxiety levels and disrupted social skills can be particularly high among adolescents with learning disabilities (LD). However, the origin of anxiety as it relates to LD has yet to be determined, making it hard to treat. On the one hand, there exists the “deficit in study skills” model in which anxiety is a result of low self-assurance and feeling unprepared due to deficient knowledge. On the other
The school drop-out phenomena has been widely researched but it still remains in the shades. Pouring money into the education system does not seem enough to solve the issue. Despite efforts of teachers some children still underestimate the benefits of studying. Or at least they do not feel the payoff big enough for the effort they do.
