Education Crime In The 1950's

In the 1950's is when blacks started fighting for their civil rights and, sixty six years later in 2016 they are still fighting for their civil rights. First off blacks have a higher level of education in 2016 then in 1950's but they are still kind of segregated even today. The jobs that blacks had in the 1950's were still mostly servant/slave jobs and could not get as much freedom with jobs as they do today. Finally crime from the 1950's and today in 2016 are very similar and very different in many ways and it needs to stop otherwise this country could go into chaos. Everyone needs education to get further in life. For example a person who went to college can get a higher paid job than someone who did not go to college. This is why education …show more content…

First of all blacks did not kill blacks as much in the 1950's than in 2016. Blacks were to busy fighting for their civil rights than killing each other. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Did not want anyone to fight against whites he wanted peaceful and civil protests. He did not want people shooting other people. But policemen shot blacks a lot more in 1950's than in 2016 but, nowadays it seems like policemen are shooting blacks more often again and mostly for no reason at all. Because policemen think all blacks have guns does not mean that they have one. Innocent people are dying for no reason. Ok so whites killing blacks is a insanely big deal but when a black shoots another black it is nothing. According to 2010 the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) done by Bureau of Justice Statistic (BJS) under US Department of Justice (DOJ) 62,593 blacks were victims of white violence while 320,082 whites were victims of black violence that is 5 times more than whites killing blacks. But, From 1980 through 2008, 84 percent of white victims were killed by whites and 93 percent of black victims were killed by blacks (Sherman). Blacks are protesting with violence and other blacks with peaceful protest also known as #BlackLivesMatter. In the 1950's blacks made signs like blacks today as another form of peaceful protesting. But the blacks that resort to violence to protest is the reason this issue is becoming bigger
