Eisenhower High School has shaped me into the women that I am today. At first, the transfer from private to public middle school was difficult. I did not know what to expect from public schooling. Immediately, I was met with friendly faces and extraordinary teachers. When the time came for me to decide if I would attend a private high school or Eisenhower High School I didn’t hesitate on my decision. Since my first day walking through the newly renovated Eisenhower halls, I knew I had found my home for the next four years.
Every teacher at Eisenhower goes above and beyond what is expected. Their willingness to stay after school to assist students on topics they don’t fully comprehend shows how dedicated they are to their work. Eisenhower has provided me with multiple AP and Honor classes. These classes are meant to show students what to expect in college courses. Though the homework was rigorous and extensive, it taught me to put my studies first and prepared me for college classes. The school’s ability to adapt schedules to fit the

Ambassador. Eisenhower has given me the opportunity to participate in the InspirEd Internship. This internship allows me to work within a local law firm under the lawyer Mr. Chiligiris. Through this program, I have been able to gain a better understanding of the process of the law and see the court in action. I am able to assist Mr. Chiligiris in the preparation for his court cases, as well as aid him in researching previous court decisions. The school’s ability to provide students with internships allows me to gain experience in the law field and it helps me to be able to attain future internship opportunities. This is extremely important to my future for most law firms require applicants to have experience in the workplace before they can be hired as a full
In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania of 1837, the first higher education institution for African Americans was founded on February 25th given the name Institute for Colored Youth (originally the African Institute). After changing its name again to Cheyney University of Pennsylvania and moving to Delaware County, Pennsylvania, it continues as the oldest predominantly African American school of higher learning. The institute was founded by Richard Humphreys, a Quaker philanthropist who donated 10,000 dollars to establish a school that would educate young African American male and females the skills needed to become more competitive in the job market (Conyers, 1990). The school taught basic subjects such as math, reading and writing, as well as agriculture and mechanics. Humphreys envisioned the institute to train people of color to become teachers who would further instruct more young men and
At Brewton-Parker College, the campuses community is quite small. I cannot decide if it is a good thing that everyone knows each other. Because the school’s population is not quite as high as a big university, everyone knows everyone’s business. No matter what someone does, good or bad, it gets out, but for me the size in beneficial. The less people there are, the less chance I have of getting distracted. I love how small the classes are, too, because my teachers actually knows who I am. Also, when I need help with what we’re learning or I just have a simple question, I can easily ask my teacher, and he or she can help me better understand what is going on. The teachers here, at Brewton-Parker College, are kind and beyond willing to help me, no matter how long it takes; help is always there when I need it. For instance, the library has become my best friend. I like how I can go and have my own table to get a good amount of work done, and the books are such a useful resource for
I came into Norwalk Community College looking for a fresh start. I previously attended a 4 year university that became too much for me; attending school full-time, working 30 hours per week while trying to enjoy the college experience. At the cost of an “experience” I ended up failing most of my classes, putting my health at risk drowned by the tremendous amount of stress and just wanted to completely give up. Looking for a fresh start I decided to leave my University, and attend Norwalk Community College. Though this decision created self-doubt in the beginning, it soon came to my realization that it was the best decision I ever made. Immersed in an environment full of positive people, I was able to put my pieces back together.
Born on October 14, 1890 in Denison, Texas was our 34th President (Dwight Eisenhower). Dwight was very into sports when growing up, and in high school he excelled so fast in sports he received an appointment to West Point. When he received his appointment from West Point he had to take a test to get in, only one person could get in at a time, the person who scores the highest on the test of course got in. Dwight scored second highest on the test, but got into West Point, because the guy who scored the highest score failed his physical. Eisenhower entered the Military academy in 1911 and graduated in 1915.
D. Eisenhower was a prominent US army commander during the Second World War. After the Second World War, he left the army to be the president of the Columbia University. He was later nominated as the Republican candidate for the presidential election of 1952 which he won to become the 34th president of the United States (Dwight, 1960). During his administration, the cold war between the US, Russia, and China was quite intensive but despite that, his administration was able to thrive. Dwight D. Eisenhower was a behind the scene president and stayed out of politics which made him not so famous in the past but in the recent decades, his reputation has become prominent. His absence out of politics made most people perceive that he
On November 26, 1985, a 14-year-old girl shot two boys fatally, and then killed herself with a .22 caliber rifle at the
Dulles high school, my alma mater, is an extremely competitive institution that houses Fort Bend ISD’s Math and Science Academy. My graduating class of about 600 students was filled with brilliant minds who all had the same goal of beating each other out in class rank and GPA and receiving automatic admissions to their dream colleges. There are many ways in which the students tried to achieve this goal. Some individuals took on easier classes to try and raise their GPA. Others did intense amounts of tutoring to better grasp difficult topics; however most of my fellow AP students decided to take the easiest route in receiving high grades. They decided to cheat their way to the top. All throughout my high school experience, cheating circles plagued each and every one of my classrooms. Pictures of tests answers
Sometimes, school is competitive. It can become so competitive that students will lie or go so far as to cheat. Some will even kill. Honor Students at Driftwood City High School partake in an Honors English Literature class that ends the year with an exam. The three students who score highest on this test receive a Distinguished Writers Foundation scholarship. This is both a great honor as well as a way to get into the nation's most prestigious colleges and universities. As this is such a serious event, cheating consequences are severe. The first offence results in a failing grade regarding that assignment. Also, the student in question receives a one day suspension from school. If the student decides to cheat a second time, the consequence
Students at Wilson High School, Governor Mifflin, Twin Valley, and Reading High School on Tuesday the 4th of October were horrified to learn that their schools had been threatened online. The Instagram account “gigglez_is.real” warned students at these schools that three clowns would show up at 12:30 on October the 5th in each school to murder or seriously injure students and teachers.

Ever saw a WWE fight at school? Well there sure was one like it at Cheltenham High School. Four girls had a fight and it injured about 7 teachers, three officers, and made the four girls arrested. The District's school is deciding to make an alternative school. I agree with the idea because it will give the people who pay the taxes at the school’s area it’s worth, children in the school will be given better safety, and the town will have better reviews to the school or area.
Closed lunch at Seaman High School should be modified to an open lunch hour. Currently, Seaman High School has a closed policy for lunch which basically means that students are not allowed to exit the building to pick up lunch during their regularly scheduled lunch hour; as well as have lunch delivered to them at the high school. I as well as many high students argue against this policy and would like to have it changed. In fact, the closed lunch policy has been an on going topic that students as well as parents have brought before the Board of Education at their regularly scheduled board meetings. During the public communications section of the school board meeting, students and parents have debated the
It's that time of year, when students enjoy a rite of passage: their school prom.
As I prepare to graduate from Emil A. Cavallini Middle School, I feel tremendous pride for being waitlisted at an institution where academic achievement and social as well as moral values are prioritized. Exeter’s high standard of excellence would encourage me to compete against myself, while the collaboration necessary in the Harkness system would prepare me for the world. When I first walked onto the campus, the culture was in no short supply. By simply talking to my tour guide Jack, I felt a sense of belonging like no other. He was very helpful, welcoming, and relatable; we laughed at the same things and he astonished me with every experience he spoke of. Even though Jack attended one of the most respected schools in the country, he was very humble. From his words, I knew that Exeter was a place where I could not only learn, but grow as a person as the near-culmination of my
Two years ago, I was in a school named Invest and I had problems with that school. Invest did not teach good English language. Fitzgerald was different when I moved into it. Fitzgerald has more educated teacher and has better teaching skills. I’m going to tell you the differences between Invest school and Fitzgerald high school. Even though they are different, but they are both school who has different teaching and different building and lunch room. Each school has its own educational teaching and its own way of style of education. The bigger school and the small school who has less materials for school.
