A character goes through specific circumstances which make him aware of his need to take revenge .Usually the revenge tragedies share certain elements: A play within a play, mad scenes , bloody scenes, and the most important element is the main character who wants to take the revenge from his opponent. Shakespeare is one of the greatest poets and playwrights in the world , who represents revenge theme mostly in his work . In his masterpiece "Hamlet" , Shakespeare uses revenge as a major the theme throughout the play which leads to the tragedy at the end .He represents the main revenge plot of Hamlet , the Prince of Denmark who struggles to avenge his father's death , and in addition , he presents two revenge subplots ;Laertes' revenge , who wants to avenge his father's death and Fortinbras' , the Prince of Norway who wants to avenge on Denmark because his father was killed by Hamlet's father in the battle .All these Characters are seeking to avenge the death of their fathers which shows the common bond between the three.

when Laertes he discovers that his father has been murdered , he returns immediately to Denmark and attacks the castle with armed men calling him "lord" , he might kill whoever comes in his way just to avenge his father's death , he only acts in his desire for revenge without thinking. Unlike hamlet who has difficulty in acting , Fortinbras, the prince of Norway is known as a strong leader who seeks revenge, wanting to get back what his father has lost to the old king hamlet .Unlike the other characters, Fortinbras is the only one who gets benefit from seeking his revenge on Denmark.
