Famous Failure Elvis Presley Elvis presley was the most amazing rock ‘n’ roll sensation in the world. Growing up Elvis Presley became interested in music, during his fame he had to overcome personal obstacles, and there is an interesting story to his death and legacy. After a rough start to Elvis Presley's childhood, Elvis started his path to fame. Musician and actor Elvis Aron Presley was born on January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Mississippi. Presley was supposed to be a twin but his brother, Jesse was stillborn. Elvis washed raised by loving parents, Presley's family had little money, and the moved from place to place a lot. Presley attended church, and that's where gospel music became an important influence to him. As a gift from his mother on his 11th birthday in 1946 Presley received a guitar. After graduating in 1953 he worked a lot of jobs while pursuing his musical dream. Elvis Presley made his first demo record at Sun Studio that year. Sam Phillips, the record label owner took Elvis under his wing, and before long Elvis began touring and recording. “That's All Right” was Presley's first single in 1954. In 1955 Elvis signed with RCA Records, Presley was on a roll with his first single “Heartbreak Hotel”, along with his first album Elvis Presley, also signing a movie contract with Paramount Pictures in 1956.
