The once legendary Murray Hill, continues to run the best view of the Empire State Building. As residents understand, the location from East 34th to 42nd Street and from the East River to Madison Avenue represent genuine wealth and top notch New York citizenship. With the Chelsea portion of Manhattan extremely near, the enriched beauty of the luxury condos and prewar buildings uphold their prime along with brilliant landscaping and conveniences. Marray's Wharf started this luxurious reputation, after a Quaker merchant named Robert Murray moved into the area from Pennsylvania. During the mid-1700s Robert Murray and his family relocated to New York with no fear of success. He began his journey as a member of the Society of Friends, and the patriotism of his family continued throughout the Revolution during the late 1700s – ultimately, spending moments entertaining the legendary likes of George Washington and the genre of the British. Unfortunately, the Murray legacy was erased by the early 1800s due to fire and demolition, which is now parts of New York and Harlem Railroad. Top Five Attractions – Murray Hill 1. Our nation's revolution was a great achievement in U.S History. With the dawn of a new nation, there would have to be a central location to make the new decisions of our country. Our capitol has stood as the heart of our country since the late 1700s. The United States capitol is among the most architecturally impressive and symbolically important buildings in the world. For almost two centuries it has housed the meeting chambers of the senate and the House of Representatives. Begun in 1793, the capitol building has been built, burnt, rebuilt, extended, and restored. Today our capitol stands as a monument to the American people and their government. (AOC.gov)
Construction on The Empire State Building began on October 1, 1929 just a few weeks before the biggest stock market crash in United States history. On September 9, 1930, Al Smith the former Governor of New York, marked the spot of the cornerstone of what would become the worlds tallest and the century’s best building. That day Smith gave a speech to a crowd of over five thousand, which included mostly workers in hopes of a job on the upcoming project. The Empire State Building opened its doors just eight months later on Friday, May 1, 1931. For a country in midst of a great depression The Empire State Building was a symbol of hope in dark times and showed that Americans would persevere even in a

Colonial Williamsburg is one of many historical sites that is unique for its cider, ability to have the clothing they used, historical facts, and items they used in the 18th century, it is also unique for having buildings that look almost exactly like the ones back in Colonial times, like the Bruton Parish Church, the Governor’s palace, the Magazine, and a few others. The one that is most valuable to us today, and was most important in colonial times, is the capitol. The capitol of colonial Williamsburg has been around for over 300 years and has been rebuilt twice caused by fire. In the same building, the declaration of independence was written. It represents how government used to be, and how we changed it, where we changed it even. Nowadays we still have a government, and we’ve built off of it because we used to have only two branches of government, now we have three. Therefore, the building that should be awarded the commemorative coin is the capitol of Williamsburg because of how it influenced our government today.
Is a good monument or memorial all about looks, or is it about the contextual meaning behind it. A monument’s size, location, materials and more are all considerations when planning and creating a memorial to the past. The audience of a monument/memorial site is not as important as it’s location and funding.
In 1765, Britain decreed a tax on all paper objects, such as newspaper, books, and playing cards, otherwise known as the Stamp Act. All of these items received a special stamp on them. It was not known what should be done in response among all the eldest Burgesses, except for Patrick Henry. There was a debate at the Capitol, in which Patrick Henry announced his Caesar-Brutus speech. In Colonial Williamsburg, no exhibit fulfils its Historical significance, Relevance to people today, or connection to the motto, “That the Future may learn from the past” more than the Capitol. Therefore, the Capitol should be presented a commemorative coin.
Washington D.C has the most substantial monuments that are like giants standing tall! The Washington Monument is enormous in comparison to me. The Washington Monument towers high and changes in hue as if it were a chameleon looking down at us. The stones that support the monument are ragged and cracks formed in the middle. The Washington Monument is spectacular and looks amazing.
This is my first time that I come to New York, so I am curious about many things in this new place, such as the famous resorts, and the people here. As we know, the Times Square is very famous in New York. When I was in China, I hope I can visit Times Square, because I saw Times Square was very great in some of the opening of American series. Now, I am in New York, and I have enough chances to visit Times Square whenever I want. In there, it gives me a new horizon to understand the culture that is different from China.

One of the tallest buildings in the world and the tallest building in America, it is impossible to miss when appreciating the skyline. In 1969, Sears Roebuck and Company was the largest retailer in the world, with about 350,000 employees. Deciding it needed a central office space for its many employees, the company hired architects Skidmore, Owings and Merrill to design what would become one of the largest office buildings in the world. After breaking ground in 1970, it took three years to complete and used enough concrete to make an eight-lane, five-mile-long highway. The last beam put in place was commemorated by the signatures of 12,000 construction workers, Sears employees, and Chicagoans. In 1988, Sears Roebuck and Company

I never thought I'd get engaged standing 1300 feet over the city of Chicago. It was a snowy Saturday in Chicago as my boyfriend and I wandered around the city. We decided to go see the top of the Willis Tower. At the top they have glass boxes that hang over the city with nothing under your feet but glass. As we walked into the lobby, the man at the elevator announced to everyone that the visibility at the top was very poor. I almost decided not to go, but my boyfriend convinced me that it was a good idea.
The Hagia Sophia is located in Istanbul, Turkey. Istanbul is part of two continents Europe and Asia. At one point with four Empires, Istanbul was one of the largest cities in the world. Istanbul used to be called Constantinople; it was named after the ruler Constantine the Great, who is the first Christian Emperor. After Constantine was ruler then came Justinian, who in the 6th century wanted a cathedral; he turned to two men to help build it. They were Isidore the Elder and Anthemius. It took less than six years to complete Hagia Sophia, which was faster than medieval builders that were constructing Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France that took nearly a century. The Hagia Sophia was the largest cathedral for 1000 years until the Seville
Since it was built, the Empire State Building has been attracting millions of tourists every year. This building is not only a national landmark and icon of New York City but a symbol of man’s attempt to achieve the impossible. The skyscraper is also the star in many movies such as An Affair to Remember, Sleepless in Seattle and King Kong. It stands out among the city’s skyline so people arriving by air, sea, or land can always pick out its distinctive shape (Britton 4). The Empire State Building is considered one of the eight wonders of the world and the people, the purpose, the construction, and the difficulties that went along with this wonder all started with a race to the sky.
