Since, arriving at Rowan University I became at-home with Rowan’s diversity and efforts to make an impact on not only its students, but the local residents living in Glassboro too. Early in the Fall semester, I tried-out for the school’s Rugby and Ultimate Frisbee athletic teams, and ran for the Student Government position of Freshmen class Senator. I was trying to find my niche at Rowan and I found it when I joined the Pre-Med, Medlife and Pre-health society clubs. In addition, I ran for another student government position, Senator At-Large. I was elected into student government on November 7th and since then, I have felt like an active member in Rowan’s community. I first learned that Residential Learning and University Housing was looking for students to fill new Residential Assistants positions in a Senate meeting. Additionally, I’m very keen in becoming a Residential Assistant.

Human services organizations ought to plan persistent encounters like organizations outline client encounters, however they're most certainly not. Rather they keep on operating with a supplier and payer driven approach. Human services new businesses are prepared to upset the medicinal services industry since they outline the patient experience the way organizations plan client encounters. Organizations have discovered that it's no sufficiently longer to give a quality item at a reasonable cost with not too bad administration. Those are table stakes. Clients and patients need and expect more. They are searching for consistent arrangements, natural interfaces, on-request benefits, and customized
The State of Tennessee Department of Human Services operates as a monopoly. No other agency provide the services the department provided for its clients. If clients desire Food Stamps and Families First they must apply for those services through Human Services. Like most government agencies the Department of Human Services structure is bureaucratic. The vertical structure is full of policies and procedures. When there is an issue that needs clarification there are manuals and bulletins to examine for a solution. Decisions are centralized to upper management positions. Lower level employees are not able to make decisions regarding the department without consent. Request must be sent up the chain of command before final decisions, such as procedures

As a student manger in the residential hall I worked with four residential assistants to create life skills programs for the 150 residents.
The budget proposal for the Department of Health and Human Services was presented by Director Richard Whitley and Acting Administrator from the Division of Health Care Financing and Policy, Marta Jensen. In the first part of the presentation, Whitley presented a basic outline of the functions of the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). In terms of the Upper Payment Limit Program (UPL), Chair Sprinkle wanted Whitley to confirm that DHHS was moving its contract services from non profits for financial reasons. Whitley confirmed this and elaborated more by bringing an example of the situation with the newborn screening program. Originally, Nevada paid the state of Oregon to operate that program, however over time that was transferred back to the state of Nevada. As a result,
The residential aged care policies are constantly changing over the years. This paper will explore and compare policies that were not present before. I interviewed one of my co-workers, who have the same cultural background as me. She responded to my question of how things work in the aged care back then about handling difficult patients and restraints. The interviewee responded, 20 to 30 years ago, when a resident is in a distressing and uncontrollable manner, there are forms of restraints available to protect the resident from harm and possible fall. An example given by the interviewee was when a resident is sitting on a chair, there is an available tie at the back to secure the resident and to avoid the possibility of a fall, the interviewee described it as an apron-like restraint. However, at that time, the place where the interviewee works is called a hostel for the elderly and transitioned into an ageing place few years ago. She also added an example that when a resident is on bed, rails can be raised up as per request by the resident without a doctors’ order. At this time, it is illegal to use physical restraints without the consent of the doctor, legal representative and if possible, the resident. Nowadays, appropriate checks and

The Human Services Organization I analyzed is New Beginnings. New Beginnings is an agency that provides sexual assault support services in Daviess, Hancock, Henderson, McLean, Ohio, Union, and Webster counties. The clients of this organization have all been affected by sexual assault or child sexual abuse. Issues within clients are best described as acute trauma responses or chronic trauma, such as sexual difficulties or loss of trust. In order to analyze this agency as efficiently as possible, I interviewed Terri Crowe, the Advocacy Coordinator, from New Beginnings. Terri was able to provide very useful information regarding this organization and how it ticks. Although New Beginnings provides services to seven different counties, there are
