My end goal for the classroom would be 2 style technical manager, especially in a high school setting where I think it is beneficial for the students to lead a more active role in the classroom. However, in order to to accomplish this goal I would assume that using some of the techniques from the 1 style will help create this classroom management system. Particularly setting clear expectations for students and consistently practicing these standards will be important in letting students know their role in the class, however, as the students learn the expectations I would like to transition more to less of leadership role while letting the students manage daily activities and expectations. I would like to steer clear from a consequence based
For my educational plans, I have a clear understanding and vision of where I want to go and who I have the desire to be. For now, I would like to graduate with my Associates in Arts degree in Nursing from Indian River State College. I believe Indian River State is an excellent place to begin my journey and recieve my education in order to better prepair myself for what is yet to come. After I recieve my Associates degree from Indian River, I plan to transfer to the University of South Florida in order to extend my education and potentially recieve my Bachelors and Masters of Science degree in Nursing.
I want to have an orderly classroom environment. This leadership style is student-centered, but recognizes that students need guidelines to feel comfortable and that is very important to me. I am normally the leader that can have fun, but also know how to take authority. I want to practice more of being balanced because not only will help me become a better responsible leader, but a role model to the children in the center. A few things I want to work on is building better relationship with the students and communication with them, make sure I am specific with them directions and expectations so the classroom will run better and I myself will become a better individual an letter for my classroom. So, some steps I would take to work more towards this leadership style would be to analyze what I am doing now (1st month), see what I need to change, then see how my style has effect the classroom (2nd month), but then I would want to have a discuss with the students (3rd month). The discussion with the students will allow relationships to develop stronger and for the expectations to be set for the children. Since, the discussion had taken place I would want make that I am being organized and that I am holding students responsible for their actions (4th month). The following month (5th month) would be to make any changing that would benefit yourself and the children are working together in a positive manner. Then, for myself would be to maintain the new leadership style and even become better a leader for the children in my classroom (6th month.). I want my students to remember me someone that made an impact on them and they actually cared about them and was a positive influence for
I feel supporting students is a collective effort, therefore, my goals are to research programs outside the STS programs in order to provide students with more resources. I will be working with different programs, such as the Career Center, Graduate Division, Study Abroad, etc. to better cater the PPALS population. I now take the time to "self-care". I feel it is important and beneficial to the population I serve that I am healthy. In addition, I understand that there are different populations with different needs, therefore, I try to advocate and support the specific needs to each population. I do this by learning about resources that could aid their transition into UC Irvine. There is always room for improvement. Therefore, I try to learn
One of my primary, short-term educational goals is to complete my Bachelors of Science degree in Communication’s with the emphasis on Mass Media and Broadcasting. My second, short-term educational goal is to complete my studies within the shortest timeframe possible, saving me both time and finances. Completing this process at an accelerated pace will allow me the opportunity to pursue my Master of Science degree in Human Services with the emphasis on Family and Community services.
Approximately two years ago, I completed my service in the United States Army and moved to San Antonio to attend the University of Texas at San Antonio. Transitioning from a Soldier to civilian has been challenging, but I am determined to provide a successful future for myself and two children. My short term educational goal is to complete a degree in Human Resource Management. While serving in the Army, I held numerous leadership positions, including Company Equal Opportunity Representative. I also served as an Army Recruiter. I believe that my experience combined with a college degree can help me obtain and have a successful in a career in Human Resource Management. After beginning a career with a public company or federal agency, I intend
This school year I want to succeed in all of my classes. Especially, I want to aim for high grades in most of, if not all of my classes. I also would like to improve as a writer from last year. Overall, I want to improve my skills in all subjects and become an exceptional student overall. Another goal I would like to achieve, this year is to join a club I thoroughly enjoy and make new friends. In addition, I would like to try my best and stop fighting with my sister as much. Although this is a more simplistic goal, I find that my family gets especially annoyed with us when we fight and it causes so much tension. I feel it would help if we fight less. I am positive that if I put my mind to it, I can accomplish any goal I set for myself. By
Education has become an important factor in the ever-volatile world, from elementary school to junior high-to-high school. Individuals who are fortunate to obtain an education do so, but they never think much of it until the concluding days of their high school years come. Concerns about life beyond high school strikes many profoundly, while others possess a clear vision of their desired future, which may include college. Personal growth and success derives from the experiences.
Five goals for this entire school year is to be on time, organized, patient, persistent, and active. I plan on to be on time in turning my work by actually doing it on time and reminding myself when the due dates are. This well help me alot on my grade because turning in my work late always brings down my grade. Organization is one of the most important things to pass this school year. In order to complete my goal I must start small like having folders or binders in order to have all my classes in each folder. This way I won't have to dig into my backpack everyday wondering if I do have the assignments or not. Patience is key to everything. I try to do everything quickly and before its due but then everything turns out to be bad. I have to
The goals I set for class 1 is lower in comparasion to class 2. Since the class is more challenging and not really interesting to me, I find it would be difficult to maintain the motivation for any goals that set too high.
This project will support the needs of secondary students with cognitive disabilities and autism in their pursuit of foundational reading skills. To accomplish this, we will purchase Don Johnston’s Start to Finish Core Curriculum. Written and edited by Speech Language Pathologists, the Start to Finish Curriculum enables students to build comprehension, phonics, fluency, and vocabulary skills. This project aligns with the LEAD 2021 Curriculum Strategy as it removes barriers for student success and keeps students actively engaged in building their core reading skills. The curriculum includes 15 chapter books with daily comprehension lessons, student worksheets and writing lessons, end of book tests and practice, 160 phonic lessons with reproducibles,
My primary goals for my future classroom are to create a climate that is welcoming and accepting for my students. I want my students to learn acceptance in turn and welcome diversity and become culturally aware and culturally sensitive students. This course has enabled me to think practically and pragmatically about how I can create and model that culturally sensitive environment for my students. After spending this month reflecting on what cultural diversity and multiculturalism are and mean I have definitely come away with a greater understanding of the terms. To me cultural diversity means that there are multiple cultures that are present in a given community or environment. Multiculturalism means to me more so that that community coexists and thrives based off the presence of different cultural beliefs and systems. A definition of Multiculturalism that was presented in one our readings was:
Entering the field of education requires a person to take on many very important responsibilities. Teachers play a very vital role in the lives and futures of many individuals. Through the perspective of a teacher, many students come and go year after year. The names and faces of many students are often forgotten as you enter and new year with new students, new faces, and new names. On the other hand, although educators encounter many more students then students do educators, a teacher has a much more substantial impact on the life of a student. Upon taking this into consideration, I was led to ask myself many important questions. What do I hope to accomplish as a teacher? What do I wish
New teachers struggle with balancing creativity and imposing guidelines and materials. Mandated learning goals are the requirements set by the Department of Education that teachers must incorporate into their curriculum. They outline the concepts that the students must understand before moving on to the next grade. For example, Missouri Public Schools require that 5th graders must be able to “read with sufficient accuracy and fluency to support comprehension” by the end of the school year as one of their mandated learning goals (Common Core State Standards Initiative, 2017). Learning mandates remove most opportunities for teachers to be creative with their lesson plan, because they must teach all the required material first. One teacher argued that “[i]f people think of schools as buildings and do not pay attention to the people within them and the policies driving them, they do not understand what schools are––and what they could be––in people’s lives” after she had left her teaching position due to miscommunication and overbearing stipulations (as cited in Craig, 2014, p. 112). This teacher acknowledged the struggle for schools to convince the politicians in charge of the mandated learning goals to see schools as influential in the daily life of those who attend. Also, if teachers do not cover all of the required material or the students do poorly on the state exams it reflects a failure on the teachers’ part. Craig (2014) says “the intended effect of the ‘weeding out’ of
Prior to reading the text, teacher will pass out Anticipation Guide, to support predictions activity (1 minute).
Today, I am going to be talking about my motives to become a teacher and the role and jobs of a teacher and student and I will be talking about what goals I want to achieve. I hope my answers to these questions are acceptable, and relate to what they're asking.
