Advance, advance is the key word when describing the human race to prove that we are the superior race. Ever since the discovery of technology we have linked our minds together for the persistence of progress to modify the aspects all around us for the better. It’s amazing that a simple interest in the beginning will change everything down to a distinct thought. History has proven that the steps forward in technology within engineering have grown larger and are concluded at a more rapid rate and with in the last twenty years. Such a large amount has improved so rapid as cities grow and technology advances, engineering is moving along with the tide. In those early days, engineers were considered high class; they were treated like royalty along with priests and other higher royalty. They were always working with their hands, they were first to learn geometry and scale of things bigger then them. They were always fed even if they weren’t the gatherers or the hunters. Early engineers figured they could make a geometric scale of where to build so it relates to their gods/ god to whatever belief. Much like engineers in Great Britain through crusades that ended the dark ages, churches were popping up every where and engineers were always needed. So the Egyptians will always have their place in history, living in a desert area (but still close to water) and created these massive pyramids much like the Aztecs that but are totally unrelated. It shows that early civilizations were much more advanced then initially known. How did these people make these huge (now some of the greatest ancient engineering artifacts known to man) structures with only man-power?

Aliens built the Egyptian pyramids. Recent research supports the theory that the Pyramids were built long before humans inhabited the area now known as Egypt. It is also nearly impossible for the Egyptians to have lifted and moved the limestone brick used to build these massive structures. Only a more advanced form of life could have constructed such an enormous undertaking, while using advanced mathematics and geography that were not yet known to ancient peoples.
What makes up a pyramid? 12 lines, 5 faces, 4 triangles, 1 base, and 5 vertexes and in the case of the Great Pyramids of Giza about 2.3 million stone blocks that weigh an average of 2.5 to 15 tons. That according to the time it took to build them they would have had to place and set a stone every 2 to 2 and a half minutes. To put that in perspective some weigh as much or more than an armed military cargo truck. So, imagine dragging a cargo truck with nothing but some strong rope and some other people. Now if you're like most people you can lift maybe 100 pounds. However, the average powerlifter can lift 350 to 400 pounds and that's just lift not pack around or drag across acres of land. Now how did the Egyptians build the Great Pyramid of Giza with blocks that weigh up to 15 tons with the technology they had then? It’s clearly very obtuse to think the pyramids were built by the Egyptians and the Egyptians alone. The question is, who helped them?
Engineering was applied by having to have precise calculations. We had to plan out the plane before even creating it. We had to use rulers and calculators in order to measure the lengths of each side on the plane and then get the area of the plane. This honed our skills
In Ancient Egypt, art had evolved within the three kingdoms. Between the Old Kingdom, Middle Kingdom, and the New Kingdom structures and models have grazed the land of Egypt. What stood out most about their art was it was mostly architecture. Back in Ancient times i am positive that the structures were not used for art purposes, it was strictly for their own beliefs. In the two essays being discussed we learn that science has a vast range of definitions. Science is the effort to understand (or to understand better), the history of the natural world and how the natural world works with observable physical evidence as the base of understanding. Science is about how the hypothesis is developed and how well it is defended.
Layton begins his essay describing what engineering is; that its work is in the marketplace rather than in a laboratory. He then states the “engineer’s dilemma” is based on bureaucracy, not capitalism. Engineers are called the “original organization man,” and are important to large businesses, but a social revolution amongst them would not end their terms of marginality. The ability to design and build such grand monuments such as the iconic pyramids of Giza, rivalling even the Mayan and Aztec temples of South and Central America, reveals the true nature of innovation in Egypt. In fact, even without modern tools of measurement, the Great Pyramid, the largest tomb in Egypt, is almost geometrically perfect. The Revolution's radical changes effected the human experience in both negative and positive means. One aspect that had a positive significant impact on the Revolution was the advancement in technology.
It is almost impossible, today, to look around you and not see the products of engineering, pretty much regardless of where one may be. In this way, advancements in engineering and its various branches have clearly allowed humanity to develop in immeasurable ways or this would not be the case (Frank C. Whitmore, 1979). However, those who do not have much knowledge of the background processes behind this infrastructure may not realise its impact as deeply or may not realise the impact of engineering at all - despite modern society’s fundamental dependence upon it (National Academy of Engineering, 2001).
In the deserts of Egypt lie the colossal remains of an ancient civilization. These enormous works of human endeavor are the only member of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World that time has passed down to us. These are, of course, the great pyramids of ancient Egypt. But these imposing structures were not built to impress civilization millennia down the road. The pyramids in fact had a purpose to the ancient Egyptians. While they seem very simple in nature, as they are simply four-sided pyramids with square bases, they had a meaning for those that had them built. Even by today’s standards, the pyramids of ancient Egypt were an impressive feat of engineering, due to their enormous size, both in building materials and finished product.
