Every Sunday my mother would force me into my church dress with the itchy lace, and white ankle-socks with the big, puff bow. We would walk into St. John A.M.E. Church and sit in age-old pews, singing Negro Spirituals that I had not yet learned to appreciate. Growing up, church consisted of sermons, praise, and family. For years I would automatically participate in the church activities and youth-group service projects, taking the many lectures about education a grain of salt. However, I never understood the true meaning of service and the importance of education until I learned about the history of Huntsville, Alabama. The founder of St. John African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church, and the founder of Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University (AAMU), William Hooper Councill, truly exemplified what it meant to serve his community.

I looked at a combination of over 100 different mock drafts, big boards, and player rankings, and much to my surprise, on average Thomas was rated as the sixth best receiver in the draft.

Terrill Thomas died a little over a year ago on April 24th, 2016 at a Milwaukee County Jail. Thomas passed away because of dehydration which was brought on by his water supply in his cell being cut off. Thomas was held in solitary confinement for a week after he was arrested for reckless endangerment and felony firearms violations. Along with criminal charges Thomas was bipolar which was left untreated and ignored by staff. Bipolar disorder prevents people from correctly showing their emotions or conveying what they need (Carpenter 2017). According to other inmates Thomas begged for water everyday and was ignored by every correctional officer. On the other hand the correctional officers claim Thomas said nothing to them. The lieutenant, Kashka Meadors says her directions were misinterpreted. The water supply for the toilet was just supposed to be shut off because Thomas kept flooding it. Whether or not directions were misinterpreted, it goes against standard operating procedure (Carpenter 2017). Thomas’s death was ruled a homicide but was brought up almost a year later because after the trial there more questions than answers. Since Thomas has passed there have been more deaths including three other people and even an infant. Prosecutors are not sure who they want to charge with the homicide of Terrill Thomas but they want answers.

Eric Harris born on April 9, 1981 in Wichita, Kansas. His father Wayne Harris was a U.S. Air force transport pilot and his mother Katherine Ann Poole was a homemaker. Dylan Klebold born September 11, 1981 in Lakewood, Colorado. His father Thomas Klebold and mother Susan Yassenoff were pacifists and would make Dylan and his older brother attend the Lutheran church. At home they would obey some rituals keeping with Klebold's maternal grandfather's Jewish heritage. In school Eric and Dylan were not very popular and were mostly bullied. In one of Dylan’s journal’s entries he wrote “ I hate you people for leaving me out of so many fun things. He had lived in Boston, Massachusetts (1706-1718), New York (1718-1721), London, England (1724-1726) and Paris, France (1776-1785) for a short period of time, but Philadelphia, Pennsylvania remained his home for 59 years of his life. His brilliant inventions throughout his life made a significant impact on the United States and will be remembered for them in U.S history. Franklin had inventions like the Franklins stove, and the lightning rod, he also discovered electricity. His inventions and discoveries have changed lives from the first day it was introduced. Mickalene Thomas was born in Camden, New Jersey in 1971, but now lives in Brooklyn, New York. She is well known for using rhinestones, acrylic, and enamel in her paintings and collages. However this interest soon became a passion to Franklin. He even retired from his publishing business to work in a laboratory with his mostly homemade equipment.
