Civil and human rights leader, the late Minoru Yasui, is another person to receive the Presidency Medal of Freedom. Minoru went to law school and he graduated from the University of Oregon. A long part of his life was devoted to the military curfew implemented during World War II because Japanese Americans were under a curfew and were forced to live in concentration camps. Minoru deliberately went out after curfew and he was arrested. He took a stand against the curfew claiming it was racially unjust against Japanese Americans. However, that didn’t stop him from caused him to spend nine months in solitary confinement. He continued to fight for the injustice and died in 1987, unable to overturn the conviction.

What is an Eruv? An Eruv is a ritual enclosure (usually around a small town and now big cities) that is constructed by setting up two poles and then a string on top of the two poles. This was created because during the Sabbath Jewish religion law prohibits carrying, toting and pushing any object outside of one’s home. So activities like pushing a stroller, totting a diaper bag and even carrying food to a friend’s house would be forbidden during the Sabbath (Friday to Saturday). I strongly believe that a disease caused the accusations. I believe this because it is the only scenario out of the four that made sense to me. In the scenario, it said that a fungus called Ergot was somehow consumed and caused a disease. The symptoms that were experienced were pinching, biting, burning, seizures, and hallucinations. All of the symptoms the girls felt were all symptoms of Ergot. The girls all saw witches and nobody else did which means they were hallucinating because of the Ergot. Finally, Ergot grows in damp and marshy-like environments and Salem happens to lie near marshes and swamps. Therefore, I think that Ergot caused the girl's’ accusations.

Eris was feared and disliked by many of the Greek gods and goddesses. The feared goddess was known to the Romans as Discordia, which also has the meaning "discord". Eris' symbol is the golden apple of discord that she had stolen from the goddess, Hera.

I am taking EEB 121 because one of my favorite class is Life Science 3. Life Science 3 introduced molecular biology and biochemistry. Therefore, I took EEB 121 to further expand my knowledge about molecular biology. I believe that EEB 121 will give me new perspective about molecular biology because the class focus on evolution, rather than just explanation of different process. Therefore, EEB 121 will provide another reason to appreciate life and its complexity. Furthermore, EEB 121 will help me in my Biochemistry class. I noticed how the topics from EEB 121 and Biochemistry are somehow correlated.
