Essay On Why Juveniles Should Be Tried As Adults

Many young children in United States are imperiled by abuse, domestic and community violence, and poverty. Without help, these children suffer, struggle, and fall into despair and hopelessness. Usually minors cannot manage emotional, social, and psychological challenges of adolescence and eventually engage in destructive and violent behavior. Today, juveniles are lucky enough that death penalty was abolished and said to be and cruel and unusual punishment by the Supreme Court. However, juveniles who commit murder can be put in a prison for life without a possibility of a parole.
It is not right that today children can be tried as adults for the murder. Juveniles under the age of 18, who committed a murder should not be tried as adults simply because they are not. Minors are not fully physically and mentally developed, furthermore, very often the result of such causes is fault of parent who raised them and environment where they had to grow up. Merriam-Webster's Dictionary defines juvenile as physiologically immature or undeveloped. It is ridiculous to think that we can punish children who are not eighteen years old as adults. Just imagine putting 12 years old child in the jail with thirty-year-old man. We cannot talk about a minor as a formed personality.
Juveniles are not adults, that is why we have different age ranks and we treat them differently. They are considered too young to see an R rated films, restrained from things like alcohol, smoking, voting, pornography or
