I was walking along the sidewalk on a brisk Autumn night as leaves crunched beneath my feet. Eerie fog rolled out along the road and brought a chill down my spine. I began to pick up my pace as I wanted to get home as fast as possible. The streets looked like a ghost town, no one was outside and only the dim streetlights lit my path. I took out my cellphone and attempted to call my mother, but it went right to voice mail. Just as i was pocketing my phone I heard a disturbing cackle. At that moment I began sprinting not wishing to stay and find out who or what made that sound. I was about half a mile from my house when I heard the disturbing noise again. Being in a pure state of terror I overlooked a pothole which I promptly stepped in and
My shoulder was spewing out blood like a water works, but then used a piece of cloth that I had in my pocket to reduce the bleeding. Then I kept running just to get to a dead end the lions were following me,then I saw a hole in the wall I jumped into that cramped space and then put a rock blocking it. Then I discovered that the hole turned into a tunnel and then I ran out of there as swiftly as I could. I slid down the mountain now the sun was blaring down like a fireball,I checked my watch it was 10:00 am then as I headed back i saw an unsettling shadow it was the same shadow i saw last night, i hid in the brush but it came closer and closer then i could see it was a person glaring over me it looked like a sketchy person. At that moment he picked me up by my collar, and dragged me into the forest, the deeper we went everything changed the trees began to twist and die and there was no sign of wildlife. Then as he dragged me he stuck my collar onto a branch and told me he would be back.
A short loud bang echoed through my ears and clumps of mud sprinkled on my pale skin like a cold shower. Edrenalin spreaded through my body faster than I could get up on my feet and look straight. The world was on mute, only a loud ringing whistle existed and it wasn't going away anytime soon. The high pitch sound was dampening and for some reason i was hoping to hear a familiar voice or sound that was of somewhat pleasing like my mother. But something more familiar started to come into reality, screaming. People were darting by me, like a sudden flash. I looked over to what they were doing, where they were going. And sure enough they were going over to the screams. A man who looked older than me was half submerged in mud and blood. He was
Rain hit my head, raced down my face and back. We trudged through the mud, sinking in our boots feet deep. All we could see was our breathe, all we could hear was the wind slapping against the trees, rain hitting, and our boots squishing in the mud. We expected the weather to be like this, the weather channel had been going crazy all week about a storm passing through our way around 5 pm today. Just as predicted the rain became heavier, fog thicker, and sky darker. But our search group did not give up; we had been searching months for the beloved missing girl named Emma Barrett in the Elliott State Forest in Oregon. She was last scene heading into the forest with her parents on a Tuesday afternoon for a hike, hours
I was walking through downtown Chattanooga when I came to this part where all I could see was fog and the street lights. There were no cars or people. I was the only person there which was extremely weird because I was on one of the busiest streets in Chattanooga. Now that I was walking through the streetS, slightly jogging, i heard some creepy noises behind me. I turned my head and saw absolutely nothing there which freaked me out before because I had seen nothing 20 minutes ago. I started walking into fog more when I heard some rattling in the distance. I started sprinting toward one of the lights, breathing heavily and loud. When I got to the light I was so out of breath that I had to sit on the curb. I was still scared out of my mind because
A few weeks ago I was sitting in my old dusty chair watching the news. I was just thinking about the day’s work ahead of me, and wondering if my body will make it through the day. I heard a car door slam. I imagined that it was my wife pulling in, but that would be impossible. I wondered who it could be. I do not get many visitors this time of year, not in the off-season. Could it be the fella that was on the news? They said a girl was murdered in Iowa and the suspect got away, and may be on his way to Canada. Then a loud knock on the door filled the empty room. I got out of my chair slowly, like a pregnant woman would, and made my way to the door. I could hear a creak with every step I took, and only God knows if it came from the floor, or these knobby knees.
I walked in the weird kitchen and stood beside Nancy and grined and she beamed back at me. When nancy smiled at me she also started to laugh for a long time. When I went up stairs I found a frightening room that said keep out and of course I walked in it to look around and saw Mr mulholland and Mr temple dead so I panicked. When I started to scream she heard me and found me in the secret room.
My room turned to a crisp cold and I felt as if someone was watching me. Then I started to hear tapping and scratching on the walls behind me. I was paralyzed in fear. Eventually I worked up the courage to sprint downstairs to tell my parents what had happened yet they never believed me and had convinced me that I only have a vivid imagination. At exactly 3AM I had woken up to whispers and the sound of heavy breathing above me but this time without hesitation I slid out of my room and as I looked back to check if anything was there I saw the same blonde hair and piercing blue eyes gazing at me through my mirror. My chest felt inflamed like it was about to burst and my feet could not move as if they were chained to the floor. But the most horrible part is that none of my family believed me. And that is only her backstory. I became fascinated with ghosts I loved researching and testing things with them. I read that ghosts stick with someone lonely. Only showing itself to the one person and becoming one's best friend because they know what it feels like to be
It was a dark and stormy night. The wind was blowing and causing the old oak trees beside the house to scratch the windows with their finger like branches and make a “screech” sound every time they rubbed against the window. There was the occasional bolt of lightning that would light up the sky as if it was daytime again and would show a dark shadowy figure that almost seemed as if it were moving closer every time the lightning struck. I watched this odd figure and could not understand out why it was acting so strange. I called the police in a frightened tone because I feared that something bad might happen. They answered and said, “Hello, this is the Police Department of Broken Arrow. Please state your emergency.” I said, “ I live at 837 Red
I just ran. Before I knew it, I was out of the trailer and walking back down the trail. That’s when the real fear set in, it’s strange how you feel so open and exposed walking on a trail. The trailer was sitting there it looked almost evil. I turned a corner and it disappeared out of sight. But the feeling of being followed remained. The trail was almost a trench carved in along a steep hill one side it sloped down and you could see a small pond. I began to visualize what could've happened. The different ways it could’ve ended. I wanted to go back and see if someone was really there, but I knew that would be a waste of time. I summed it up in my head as the wind pushing the door open. I still constantly turned back, looking over my shoulder to see if there was some truth to what I thought, if something was actually following me. It was a windy day out and as the wind the blew the trees would creak and crack. Branches fell off and slammed on the ground crashing down and taking other branches with it. The sound was amplified through the quiet and almost sleeping woods. It was strange, there were no animals, no squirrels or chipmunks. The woods were dead. I was still looking over my shoulder every now and again, still startled by what I had experienced. The walk took way longer than it should’ve. It felt like the seconds were minutes and no matter how fast I walked I couldn't keep up with the pace in my mind.
Halfway home I saw this woman crying over something ,but I was not close enough to see it. Being the nosey person I am I just had to go see what the big fuss was about. Not the best idea ,but I still went on with it. I walked up to the women the tapped on her shoulder; when she turned around I was frozen we fear. The object was no long unidentifiable ,nope it was as clear as day that the women had been crying over a dead guys body. I was petrified, I could not think, talk, or even begin to understand why this beautiful women was crying over this dead body. So I asked her, “umm..ma'am… are you ok?”,she did not answer the first time so I poked her again and asked “do you want me to call 911?” that's when she finally reacted. The women went ballistic on me and began to call me very mean names she jolited up and made a move as if she was going to come after me so I did what everyone would do...run. I ran till my legs gave out. I stopped when I realized I had no clues where I was and did not have my phone on me. My head was spinning I know that this is when I was going to die. I did not have it in me to keep on going; my feet were bleeding from these heels that I somehow still had on. I was just about to lose all my hope ,but then I saw bus stop and decided I needed to sit down and rest. I had not realized just how tired I was until I felt my eyelid flider
It was a typical morning, calm, peaceful, birds chirping, a beautiful sky and the forest next to my house was overflowing with life. It was my usual day, I was walking through the forest to my job at the lumber yard, I usually don't like to work hard, but I needed a job and at my small town the lumberyard was one of the only jobs that were hiring. I was listening on my iPod to some music then I heard something peculiar, to me it sounded like a pair of footsteps and some leaves rustling on the trail to the forest, but I wasn’t sure if it was part of the music, but I called out anyways.
Today was a normal day. I woke up bright and early, ate a few of my favorite butternut cookies for breakfast, made a few sales, shined some old rich man's loafers, and just about to as I was about to lockup the old shoe shop at eleven o'clock, I heard a faint yelling sound coming from the road over. I stood by the door with my key still in the lock to feel secure in case something awful was to occur in this situation. Then, just as the yelling had stopped for about five minutes, I heard it again, but this time closer, a lot closer! I bent down in the shop's window so whoever was outside at this late hour wouldn't be able to know that I too was up at this late hour! It got to the point to where I could hear footsteps right outside of the window
Lying in bed in the middle of the night while sleep eludes me, a noise breaks through the silence. Oh my God! What was that!? Maybe it was just my imagination, or maybe it was just the house settling. There it is again! I must be hearing things. I get cold and my body starts to shiver uncontrollably. I peek to where the sound comes from and I could swear I see something through the dark room; it appears even darker than the surrounding area. Oh my! I think it just moved. My breathing becomes labored and I pull the covers over my head, trying to calm myself down while making my brain work through what just happened. Was I dreaming? Or did I just see a ghost?
Tap. Tap. Tap. The sounds were coming from inside the closet. Quietly I crept toward the door and opened it looked inside no one was there so I closed the door. Those same noises coming from different places each time no one was there. I heard that same noise again coming from my mom's bedroom so I was very quiet going there to see who it was. I finally got there quietly opened the door and I thought I seen someone but there was no one.
The birds started chirping in the early morning. The old rickety hut had a strong putrid stench of decomposition. The windows where dark and there was nothing. Svetlana promised toma that they would explore the hut. They saw it the night before when they where setting up there tent near the river and toma said ‘I wan to see wot is in der’. They went over to the front door but it was rusted closed. The pair saw something move behind the dark windows and toma said ‘it get the crowbar’ and then svetlana sad ‘NO we shall stay at the door until we know what is in this dwelling. Meanwhile they where strongly gripping there noses shut because of the deathly stench. Svetlana said ‘toma we need to protect our camp from animals’ as the last syllable left her mouth the pair saw a brown bear sniffing around there tent. They ran down with there knifes out and the bear ran off only after tearing there tent and stealing some chocolate. Svetlana said ‘close call toma you need to get some wood for fire, hurry’.
