Extrovert, Introvert, or Extroverted Introvert “You think you’ve got it figured out, huh? You have no idea what life has in store for you.” – Gillian Mamaclay At first, I was scared, truthfully intimidated, about asking her for an interview. I really want to be active in this organization and afraid that I would leave a bad impression on her. Moreover that I just sent her a message request through messenger and unsure if she will respond to it since I’m nobody. After hours of waiting, she finally replied and she agreed to meet with me. I was so ecstatic. I was to meet her face-to-face, Gillian Mamaclay, a fourth year BS Legal Management student; the current president of the Ateneo Student Exchange Council. It was the day when we officially sit down and talk. I arrived in JSEC a little …show more content…
She said that she was actually an introvert. And I was like an introvert? Really? I wasn’t expecting that at all. People had the thought of her being an extrovert because she was part of the human resource department. To be a part of the HR department means that she deals with people and need to communicate with them on a regular basis because, to her, it’s fun to help people and all. However, being in the company of people a long time is exhausting. An example of this was after rec week, a weeklong event of socializing. Her friends invited her to dinner to celebrate but she said no and said that she wants to go home and read. This scenario shows her introverted side. Introverts wants to be left alone to recharge and regain their energy, while extroverts get their energy from being with people. I ask her what’s her MBTI. MBTI is a type of personality test. She told me that she is an INTJ. INTJ stands for introversion (I), intuition (N), thinking (T), and judgment (J). “Well I’d like to believe that I’m still an INTJ after all these years. But yeah I mean I like socializing but I really get drained
“Introverts like being introverts. We are drawn to ideas, we are passionate observers, and for us, solitude is rich and generative” (Psychologist Laurie Helgoe) Christopher, the main character of The curious incident of the dog in the night- time has a personality that is represented strongly through this quote. This does not only mean he is an introvert but he has what is thought to be Autism, this explains his behavior and relationships towards his peers throughout the book. Cristopher has proven he has a better relationship with himself and animals than with those who surround him. Relationships with animals do not bring harm to one’s soul while humans manage to hurt others easily.
The dominant function of the INTJ personality type is introverted intuition. This has played a crucial role in my (albeit rather short) professional life. Ever since I was a toddler, I wanted to become a veterinarian. All of my actions were carried out primarily with this goal in mind, to the point where it was obsessive. I never considered taking any other career path.
When taking the Jung typology test the profile I received was INFJ. In this profile, “I” stands for introvert. What this means is that I tend to be more introverted, rather than extraverted. An example of this is, a friend of mine was having a party and asked me to go. Since it was my friend’s birthday I decided to go. When I got to the party I realized that I wouldn’t be able to talk to her very much because of all the people there. I spent most of the night being very quiet and not starting up any conversations. Whenever someone started talking to me, I would keep the conversation going of course. After about an hour of uncomfortable socializing I decided to step out on her back porch for some peace and quiet. I often find that when I am

Overall, my interview with Mari Jo Turner worked out better than I had anticipated, she was able to deal with me for 30 mins and explain the history of how the Hispanic League took a lead in our society. I was fortunate enough to have experienced many of their events and programs. The passion and devotion the staff members, board members, and the executive director display are performances not taken for granted nor will it because you can experience the testimonies of other Hispanic/Latinos that have been touched by this organization. I could tell Mrs. Turner cares about what she does to enhance the academic performance of the Hispanic/Latino students and its community. She is passionate and devoted to her job regardless of the obstacles they
At the beginning of the interview, she talked about how her first semester was quite a culture shock. While listening to her tell her stories, I often found myself laughing. The interview was very calm and the atmosphere was friendly. It was easy to talk to her because I have known her for quite some time now.
I am going to meet with her on August 10 so I can learn more about her job duties and profession. I am so glad that she said that we can meet together because it can help me to decide what I would be doing after graduation. I know for sure that I will like to work for the Federal Government.
Gail Fancher is the professor who has had a monumental impact on me. She has encouraged me to always go new opportunities and to strive to go outside of my comfort zone. Additionally, Gail believed in me before I even believed in myself. Her confidence in me as a dedicated student led her to nominate me to be my college’s student ambassador. Through this opportunity, I have been able to speak at a state level recognition banquet when I was selected as Western Technical College’s Student Ambassador, and I was also able to speak at Western’s commencement ceremony this year. This has inspired me to seek out other ways to get involved with my college which led me to applying for an officer position for Phi Theta Kappa. I walked into that interview
The second organization that I ended up interviewing was Worcester Interfaith and got to meet a great man by the name of Frank Kartheiser. Frank is the Lead Organizer for Worcester Interfaith, which means that he brings different diverse organizations together to work on social justice issues and try to fix them. Like Anika, Frank was very warm and genuine, and he has an electric presence about him that just attracts others to want to be around him. Frank loves to talk and it was not really an interview, but a friendly conversation. I hardly had to ask a question because as we conversed the information that I was looking for just presented itself. The atmosphere in his office at All Saints Church was so comfortable that our conversation
We all worry about our children. There are an abundance of problems in society that produce a number of sociological disorders, as well as physical conditions which we are all at a loss to understand or explain. With the prevalence of autism, ADHD and child abuse, it is easy to fear the worst when we see a child behaving in what appears to be an abnormal way. However, introverted children may be so naturally and an introverted perspective may be part of their innate charm.
The terms introversion and shyness are often used interchangeably. However, differentiating between the two terms is necessary in order to develop and understand a clear definition of what introversion actually is. Because introversion leads to social withdrawal, one might conclude that the act of withdrawing is a result of shyness.
Knowing what you are seeing or hearing is sometimes an end in itself (such as when watching TV), but not often. Usually, we want to know what’s going on around us so that we can specify goals and figure out how to achieve them.Knowing what you are seeing or hearing is sometimes an end in itself (such as when watching TV), but not often. Usually, we want to know what’s going on around us so that we can specify goals and figure out how to achieve them.According to Carl G. Jung's approach to personality, extroversion is the tendency toward active actions as a dynamic response to the events and information from the external world. Extroverted people draw the energy for their undertakings from the outside world. The outside world is the main driver
A mental imbalance or extremely introverted turmoil is a neurodevelopmental issue that debilitates a man's capacity to impart, connect socially with others, and react to specific jolts in their environment. The condition is normally analyzed by the age of 3 and is more common in guys than females.1 Other firmly related wordings are extreme introvertedness range issue (ASD), and unavoidable formative issue (PDD). A mental imbalance range issue is portrayed by deferred dialect advancement, dreary and stereotyped examples of conduct, creative energy, and upset social interaction,2 while PDD alludes to a gathering of conditions that incorporate extremely introverted turmoil, Rett's issue, Asperger's issue, and in addition a gathering of other related conditions.3 The primary
My friends in school think that I am just a normal with no life at all. However, outside of school, I have a whole different kind of personality which is being extroverted.
The Myers-Briggs Personality Test Analysis revealed that I am 72% distinctly Introverted. Under this preference, my energy source comes from inside as opposed to Extraverts whose energy is external. As an introverted, I tend to keep my feelings inside. This is truer in my work life than it is among my family and close friends. In my family, I am the oldest daughter; therefore, the authority that was bestowed upon me over my younger siblings allowed me to be more extroverted at home.
