You were walking through the supermarket when you over hear two women talking about a story, that was all over the news. It was about a man that shot another man because his wife was cheating on him. The two women were saying that the man’s actions were courageous, but you believe otherwise. You feel that courage is not a man with a gun in his hand, but a man that seeks a resolution. Courage can be defined in many ways. Or people can express their courageous actions differently than others. One of the best literary examples of courage is the novel “To Kill A Mockingbird”, written by Harper Lee. The book itself conveys many forms of courage that jump out at you. There are many debates stating who the most courageous character is, or what Harper Lee is trying to state by expressing the courage into her characters. Those topics will be spoke about today. Courage has a lot of definitions that everyone can follow. Most people consider courage being whenever someone faces their fears head on, or standing up for what you believe in. In “To Kill A Mockingbird” courage is expressed in many ways including standing up for your beliefs. Atticus Finch, an honorable lawyer states,” It's when you know you're licked before you begin, but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. Each of those characters show courage in their own way. They do not allow anyone in the town influence their actions nor views. They each follow up with their actions over top of the dilemmas that are encountered. Boo Radley saves Jem and Scout from almost getting killed from Bob Ewell. Maudie and Link express their opinions no matter the circumstance on debatable topics in town. Maudie speaks up about the racism happened in the town, and Link saves Helen from Bob after Helen is not allowed to take the road in front of Bobs house.
