Animal Farm is a broad and encompassing view of the real world’s Soviet Union shown through an allegorical viewpoint. This story portrays a dystopian society which is an oppressed society through which the illusion of a perfect society and total control is maintained through government agencies. Animal Farm got to that society after a dictator, Napoleon, took power for himself, the constant manipulation of details by Squealer’s propaganda machine, and the absolute fear of the outside world by all the working animals helped maintain it. Animal Farm is a dystopia that was brought about by the constant propaganda machine, the figurehead at the top, and the total fear of the outside world. The story of Animal Farm’s dystopian governmental control is that the propaganda ,amplified through Squealer, exercised enormous influence and power over the animals. One piece of evidence that points to this is, “Napoleon is always right” (Orwell 48). This was the maxim of Boxer which was the embodiment of the working class and shows how well rooted this belief is and how the government is easily manipulating its animals. For instance, the propaganda through Squealer was all across the farm never missing an ear of any animal always twisting the truth for the government. Secondly, the enormous and broad scale of power that Napoleon had over everything continued to help distort and change the ideas of Animalism. Last of all this idea of any human will never compare to animal is a false idea that hides Napoleon as an oppressive and discriminatory regime over Animal Farm.
