The Jim Crow Laws were made to enforce segregation. In To Kill A Mockingbird, there is lots of segregation. White people have their part of the town and black people have theirs. White people have their opinions and black people have theirs. It never talked about the Jim Crow Laws specifically, but you could definitely see examples of them. For example, “Atticus, are we going to win it?” “No honey.” Scout and Atticus said while they were talking about the trial. (Lee, 87) Atticus knew they were not going to win the trial because of segregation and how people felt about blacks.
The Jim Crow Laws originated in the South. Jim Crow was not an actual person but he was a fictional character in a play that was played by the white actor, Thomas Dartmouth
