Unsung Hero Treason, a seven letter word that can break or make someone's world. A word powerful enough to cause war or inspire peace. A word that represents a crime that carries the tone of the betrayl and seeps into the very heart of every soul it has affected. Traitors are the exact opposite of patriots; people who serve their country. Over the past couple of years the name Edward Snowden has been floating in and out of international media outlets. Some have keyed the word traitor when introducing him and his actions in their articles and programs. Others have scribed the word patriot next to his name for they believe that he has truly done his country a great service. Edward Snowden is not a traitor, he is a hero. He is one of the many unsung heroes that we were taught about during the Revolutionary War. His brave act has sparked a global debate and is behind the many reformed acts and laws that have been passed to protect our rights and privacy. Snowden is no traitor he is Albert Einstein once said that “The strength of the Constitution lies entirely in the determination of each citizen to defend it.” Yes, the Constitution protects our rights, but it needs us to defend it from any threats towards it. The Constitution of the United States assigned responsibilities to the President and Congress. Among these responsibilities is to take care that the laws be faithfully executed.
