Do you think you should be able to keep an exotic animal such as a chameleon or a possum in your house? I definitely believe that Exotic Animals should be allowed to be kept as pets. Some may think differently but they should have a different thought after all my reasons, pets have been proved as a help to education, medical issues solved and they have a long life.
As my first argument, I would like to say that pets have been considered as a very good help to children's education. They are very different from a normal cat or a dog. Exotic animals are fascinating with their unique social interactions and behaviours. Also, when we get an exotic animal they need to be researched on to suit their new environment. The children can actually learn from researching about their new pets. Having an exotic pet will give inspiration to children. For example, if we can have a chameleon, the changing colours will give an inspiration in a subject like art. Exotic pets will definitely be a help to education.

There are reptiles that have no fur. We could get one that has feathers, scales or skin. None will trigger allergic reactions. Of course, some animals like a tiger or a bear do have fur, but there are animals like a chameleon or a snake that would be fine. If anyone is worried that they carry disease, there are specialised veterinarians like Dr Laurie Hess that specialise in exotic animal care. Some animals like snakes have venomous bite but that can be fixed because if the animal is trained properly then they won't be dangerous. Therefore, the animals will be no harm to any of
People who keep exotic animals as pets do not realize the danger they are putting on the animals or themselves. There have been around 2,000 incidents involving captive exotic pets that have been reported and 75 reported deaths between the years of 1990
Owning an exotic pet can go wrong in a lot of ways and it can seriously harm the animal you are keeping, other animals, and people; including the animal's owner. If someone would want to try to keep one of these animals they would have to put a lot of work, time, and money into it because you have to keep the animal healthy, happy, safe, and you also have to make sure you are keeping everyone else safe including yourself. Still, you could be putting yourself, the animal, and others in danger.
Owning exotic animals is both cruel to the animal its self and dangerous to those who care for the animals. Keeping exotic animals as pets is cruel. In the article Do You Really Want a Baby Tiger? by Mia Lewis the author states “The end result is that far too many of these exotic animals spend almost their entire lives in the ‘prison’ of a small cage.” Obviously, exotic animals are meant to be in environments that promote their natural behavior; forcing these animals to be locked up in a small pen
While domesticated pets like dogs and cats make good pets many people want to own exotic animals that belong in the wild. These animals range from tigers to pythons, but should not be owned as they need special care most people cannot provide. Not only this, but exotic animals release is harmful for everyone, the exotic animal, humans, and native animals. Lastly, many exotic animals carry diseases that are harmless to them, but fatal to humans. Exotic “pets” are harmful for everyone, not just the pet. This is why people should not be able to own exotic pets.
Every child has asked their parents for a pet animal. The thing is though, is what type of animal they asked for. Such as a dog or cat and even the occasional hippopotamus for Christmas, right? Lots of people buy exotic animals not knowing how much work it really takes to take care of them. For example, many people have bought pythons and when they get to a size where they can’t keep care of them they let them go into the wild. Exotic animals are very costly and time consuming, they grow up and get bigger and all in all they are very dangerous.
Whether it’s math or science, geography or grammar, teachers are creating new ways to teach kids about these subjects. But when animals get involved, things get out of hand. Between fish, hamsters, and other small critters, the options are endless on what animal could be chosen to suffer through a long 180 days. At first glance, having a class pet is one thing every child wishes for, but after scratching the surface, is it really the way to learn? Class pets should not be allowed in schools due to the false impression kids get on animals. Now some argue that a class pet makes school enjoyable due to the great learning environment it generates, but it really only teaches kids the wrong way to care for animals.
The laws on having exotic animals is a very controversial topic. Most people think that there should be stricter laws on the care and keeping of exotic animals. Two articles that talk about this issue are “State leaders say lion, tiger owners need more rules than the law of the jungle,” (Newsela) and “Ohio exotic animals band to fix ‘entirely unacceptable’ lack of laws.” (Huffington Post) Both articles say, for various reasons, that there should be more laws on exotic animals.
Exotic animal veterinarians stereotypically provide the same level of care as a regular veterinarian, but have focused teachings to handle wild or exotic animals. These veterinarians may include household pets within their
To begin with, exotic animals should be banned from society because they are unpredictable. People tend to not want exotic animals due to their natural and wild instincts. One may never be able to predict a wild animal’s next move because “a wild animal is never one hundred percent predictable” (Lewis 41-42). This implies that these dangerous pets can make any wrong move at any time because these animal have not been domesticated. Also, one may keep them in a cage due to “exotic animals can injure
Do you think that animals should be kept in captivity there whole life's. When people put animals in zoos or captivity that keeps the animal safe. Although keeping animals in captivity is bad because they don’t get to be themselves, they should keep animals in zoos or captivity because it helps them not go extinct, it brings happiness to families that go the zoo, and zoos bring in enough money to build better animal enclosures.
Exotic animals belong in the wild because the reason they are exotic is because they cannot be tamed like any other pet, and if they can’t be tamed, they can become a harm to the owner and to others that the animal feel threatened by. Injury and possibly death is likely to happen under such circumstances of the animals being neglected. Another reason why I believe that exotic animals do not belong under human captivity as pets is because it is harmful to the pets and the nature of them. Some animals need their families to survive and they also need to learn to hunt in order for them to survive. Once an exotic animal becomes the pet of someone, it becomes dependent which is unhealthy for the animal, especially if they are brought under captivity at such an early age. Owning exotic animals as keeping them as pets should be illegal is what I believe is right.
Should exotic animals be brought out of their natural habitat to please a person’s wants? What does exotic mean when pertaining to an animal? According to Merriam-Webster dictionary exotic means not living in the natural habitat the animal is accustomed to living. Taking an animal out of their normal habitat is cruel and can be torturing. Keeping exotic animals as pets can also be cruel and unusual punishment, not to mention the dangers that can occur. The expense to care for an exotic animal can be very costly for instance the food, the space and vaccines if needed. Some exotic animals can even carry diseases that can be spread to a young child or even an elderly person. Not to mention the harm that can be done on a human at a given notice. Some states even have legalized that no one person can own an exotic pet making the smuggling effort into the country costly or deadly to the animal. Some states a person has to have a licensure in order to own an exotic animal but this does not protect a person from harm or contracting a disease, this just means one can legally own an exotic animal. Wildlife should be left just as the name states, in the wild, not as an exotic pet, in their natural habitat.
Have you ever wondered what a reptile or mammal could do to your learning? 2.5 million children already have pets in their classroom across North America. All the students in North America need pets in their classroom because they benefit students. Well, I know what you're probably thinking where do the pets go during school breaks and holiday and the answer is they get abandoned. Most classrooms have sign up sheets to take the pets over weekends and holidays so the pet doesn’t get abandoned but, get a loving home. Pets should be allowed in classrooms because they teach students responsibility, pets help kids build empathy, and pets in classrooms will help the kids who don’t get the chance to have a pet at home.
Over the centuries, there are very few animals that humans have domesticated. As more and more of the wildlife are being welcomed into families, there is a dispute as to whether this is beneficial for public safety. Private ownership of exotic animals is, in fact, harmful due to animal abuse and widespread risk.
Exotic animals should be banned from being purchased, hunted, and or traded from their natural habitat. People can look at an exotic animal for a couple minutes, but captivity affects their whole life. Exotic animals caged in non-natural habitats can experience many physical, and mental issues.
