Experiential Analysis of Occupation Worksheet
Occupational Self-Analysis Project
Attach the excel pages that calculate the percentages of the experiential ratings to this worksheet. Use this data to analyze your experiential ratings and answer the following questions:
What do these frequencies (of productivity, pleasure, vitality, and time-pressure) say about your patterns of your occupational experiences? Is one more prominent than the others? Do any co-occur?
For each category, the highest frequency of ratings was four. For productivity, pleasure, and vitality, this meant that I was neither productive nor unproductive, neither displeasure or pleasure, and neither drained or renewed. This may mean that I am often engaging in tasks that

I also added the percentages for all experiences ranked over 4. The percentage of time I ranked myself as productive (ratings 5, 6, and 7) was 11.65% of the time. The percentage of time I ranked vitality as a 5, 6, and 7 was 12.06%. Finally, the percentage of time I ranked my experiences as pleasurable (ratings 5, 6, and 7) was 12.32%. I had more pleasurable experiences than productive or renewing experiences.
What experiences were most common at certain times of the day (the morning, afternoon, evening)? For example, were you more productive in the early morning, mid-morning, early afternoon, late afternoon, evening or late night? Did you find more pleasure during meals or late afternoon? Look for your patterns.
I tended to show more productive experiences in the morning or early afternoon. I was least productive late at night. I had the least amount of pleasurable experiences at work, in class and while working on homework. I had the most amount of pleasurable experiences spending time with others and relaxing. Breakfast and mornings tended to be more pleasurable. I found more pleasure in breakfast than other meals. I felt the most drained waiting for things to start, such as waiting for class or waiting for the bus. Additionally, I felt more drained coming home from work at night. I felt more restored when spending time with people and after organizing my schedule in the afternoons. I felt the

When employed labor is involved, productivity in terms of time becomes important, because the employer generally pays the worker in terms of time. For many jobs, then a shift from task-orientation to timed labor occurs, as the laborer’s time becomes the employer’s money. Thus, a separation between work and leisure occurs, as

The results I received indicated my motivational value system falls pretty evenly into the Red (concern for performance)-Blue (concern for people) with a slight tendency for concern for performance. As the report describes, I
Individual Values and Needs: This dimension seeks to explore the employee’s opinion about their work so as to identify the quality factors that will result in job enrichment and better job satisfaction.
Conducting a time analysis was a pretty eye opening experience for me. I analyzed my time from Saturday 6/15 through Friday 6/21. As a family man, the fact that I spend a great deal of my time, over half, during the course of a week working and sleeping is somewhat unsettling (see Figure 1 – Weekly Time Analysis). I spend an average of 55 hours per week working, a minimum of 11 hours each day, 5 days a week. I slept approximately 5-6 hours per night, a total of 40 hours for the week. The combination of the two is about 56.5% of my week’s time. Studying took up around 20 hours or approximately 12 %. I spent 7 hours in my car during the week, which was to and from work for the most part.

Lastly, I journalized my own schedule for a day to see how I allocated my time. I began tracking my day immediately at midnight. To me, this felt like a fairly average day. I was able to accomplish everything I needed to, and still manage to get eight hours of sleep, and even have personal time to relax. After analyzing the activities that I had in a 24 hour period I think that I have an adequate amount of time in my day. If I had more time in the day than I would most likely spend it on non-productive
When I wake up and out of bed, it is usually at around 7:30am. Occasionally it is a few minutes later than that, but that is the time that I aim for. Then I attempt to have the puppy taken care of and breakfast eaten by 8:30am. Occasionally I turn on my tablet and play on it for a short while but not for too long, usually around 30 minutes or so. By 9:00am, I turn on the shower and try to take an hour to do everything that I need to do to be ready for the day. 10:00am cones by and then it’s time for the puppy and I to go outside for about 10 minutes to walk around the yard and let her potty if she needs to. Afterwards, we are back inside to take care of a few things such as getting a drink and giving her rewards if necessary and then we go upstairs to my room to begin on any college work for the day. I tend to try and work on school from 10:30am to around 2:00pm, which gives me enough time to complete a lesson or two each day. Lunch comes after which I take about 30 minutes to fix something and eat, then I start reading the list of chores to do for the day. From 2:30pm is when I begin the chores and the amount of time it takes to do them varies, so one day it could only take 30 minutes while another day could take nearly 2 hours to finish everything. Despite the amount of time the chores take, I attempt to leave 4:00pm to 6:00pm dedicated to practicing my bass. Usually it’s to practice a couple of songs I’m trying to learn at that time. When my mom is home and cooks dinner, at times dinner is ready during this time in which I usually cut practicing time short. Whether or not dinner is ready and we are eating, from 6:00pm to 7:00pm I am on my laptop usually watching videos on YouTube. Every once in a while it takes longer than an hour depending on when dinner happens and the amount of videos I watch for that day. After all of

I get up everyday at 7 am, I always have breakfast before shower or I walk like a zombie. I go to work at 12:30 pm. I've been working as a teacher for 7 years now. In the afternoon, I read my emails, teach English. My day finishes at 9:30 pm. I get home at 10:00 pm, have dinner and go to bed at 12:00 am
The self-assessment for time management techniques contained 49 statements which were broken into three sections: planning and controlling management functions, organizing management function, and leading management function. These sections are based on the CLOP functions, which are controlling, leading, organizing, and planning. My results differed based on each section of the self-assessment. Within each section, there were four possible answers: should do (1), could do (2), already doing (3), and doesn’t apply to me (4). In total, I had 13 things that I should do, 3 things that I could do, 4 things that I am already doing, and 29 things that did not apply to me.
From this we can see that if a review in the testing dataset contains the word fun, it would be classified as having a 5-star rating.
The relationship between job satisfaction, motivation, and efficiency or productivity is very important in the business industry as well as in personal life. Long term research has found that the single greatest predictor of longevity is work satisfaction. Work is one third to one half of a persons' lifetime, and if frustrated the mental and physical effects are very costly. Job characteristics including skill variety, task identity, and task significance lead to psychological conditions in which in turn leads to increased motivation, performance and job satisfaction. It is important to investigate this area in order to determine how much of an effect does
There are two kinds of people in the work force. There are laborers and there are workers. The difference between these two types of people is that a worker enjoys his or her job while a laborer does not. To the laborer, his or her life is almost equivalent to a wage slave. For those laborers, there only escape is leisure time. This is essentially the opposite of their lives, a time where there is freedom and compulsion. To the worker, leisure time consist of enough rest so that they can do their jobs effectively. In the two ways that these two types of people enjoy their free time, how do we know which person spends their time better? I believe that a worker often spends his of her leisure time more productively than
