According to Sister Simone Roach, (1992), caring is the human method of being. Roach (1992) posed a question on caring the question being, what is a nurse doing when he or she is caring? From this question the six Cs of caring was produced Roach (2002), the six C’s help in identifying specific behaviours that nurses engages in when caring for a client. The six Cs comprises of Compassion, Competence, Conscience, Confidence, Commitment and Creativity.
