Everyone’s dream is to live a happy and free life in a country where everyone has equal rights. People migrate from the lower developed countries and go to the developed countries. Migration is the movement of people from one place to another. Some people move for better economic opportunities, due to political conditions in their countries, move for family reunions and others for education purposes. People don’t always do this legally, that is called illegal immigration. Illegal immigration is a foreigner who enters the U.S. without an entry or immigrant visa, or a person who crosses the border by avoiding inspection or who overstays the period of time allowed as a visitor, tourist, or businessperson. Emigration is when someone leaves the country. There is thousands and thousands of different reasons to why people move. There are two main factors that influence migration, push and pull factors. Push factors are a negative aspect that motivates people to leave. Some political push factors include war, and moving to escape problems and political persecution. Economic push factors include poverty and unemployment. Environmental push factors include natural disasters, earthquakes, volcanoes, hurricanes, and tsunamis which means moving for safety. Social push factors include lack of education, medical facilities, high crime rate, and moving somewhere for a better quality of life.
