Family A Family is important to any person because family is a universal institution and a close unit of persons emotionally attached to each other in a way that the problem of one affects all. The family unit becomes stronger especially in times of sorrow and pain like death, disease, ailment, loss and casualty. They bring the loved ones together to share with each other. A family is important because one may be unable to make decisions yourself if he/she is incapacitated in some way, such as being unconscious. The family unit is very important to someone’s development, growth and healthy upbringing. Much of what someone learns is through his/her family or guardian. It is within community that children and families establish roots and discover who they are and what their potential is. It takes an entire community, with all that this entails to raise a healthy, confident and successful adult and citizen. It is strong, vibrant and viable families and communities that in turn create a society that is both economically and socially prosperous - at the heart of this society is learning and it begins in the family. Anyone without family is always a case of insecurity. They rarely feel confident enough to take any bold steps and actions in their lives. Family members the pillars based on which the children build their lives, if one of these pillars is missing then one can imagine how difficult it is to carry on one pillar alone. Many of the children seen to be facing family problems become mentally disturb. Children living without family are five times more likely to live in poverty than children living with the family. My family history has influenced me to be a strong person and respect others. Respect is a key to successful life. Respect is when we are kind to people then they are kind to us. Respect is listening to the teachers and obeying our parents. I have learned from my family to respect everyone around me. I have learned to respect human life at all ages and in all forms even if I do not like someone. Respecting others has made me
I believe family is such an important part in this family’s life because they are all that each other has got. They hold close to their family because they have been through so much and they see death all around them, so they see the importance of their family. They also are taught from a very young age to respect their elders in the family because they have seen much more and know much more about all aspects of life. They are viewed as wise and knowledgeable and the young family members cherish the opportunity to learn from them. In the movie Gran Torino one
Family plays a crucial role in an individual's life. They affect your decisions and the way you live. Your family can either bring you down or lift you up and push you to do your hardest.
What is a family? How are families shaped and what effect do they have on society? In the United States a family consists of both parents, one’s self, siblings (biological or adoptive) and extended family members; however, this is not the case around the world. The concept of family and who is family changes in each culture, but is mostly centered around who is kin and who a person marries. Family, kin, and marriage are established through how society decides their lineage, which establishes cultural rituals within the society.
Family plays an important role in every society. It is the main structure that made up a good society. Samovar, Porter & McDaniel (2015) write, “families are instrumental in teaching young people about their identities, how they fit into their culture, and where to find security” (p.73). Family is the first school in one’s life. In the early stages of our life, we learn how to eat, speak, communicate, and behave from our family, consciously and unconsciously we imitate our parents. In my religion (Islam) there is a great deal of attention to the importance of marriage and making family. Prophet Mohammad said, “The best of you is the best to his family and I am the best amongst you to my family”. Moreover, Islam assign a role to each member of the family, as parents take care of their children and the children should respect and obey their mother and father. I totally agree with Samovar, Porter & McDaniel (2015) when they mentioned that “the three most influential social organizations are (1) family, (2) state, and (3) religion” (p.70). For me, I believe that my family shapes most of my identity.
Families are the direct and primary socializing influence for their children. Not only do they provide food, shelter, and a source of income, families are also a source of educational values to help children interact in society. Families pave the road for future success as all their actions are directly effective toward the future of their
Family is important in every culture, it shapes people and makes them who they are.
Family identity is important to develop who they will be in the world, a family's values, goals and vision help build a strong foundation that will mold someone into a productive member of society. Family relationships are the building blocks that lead to strong moral values. Respect, honesty and trust are all developed with family members. The stronger the bond in the family, the stronger the moral values will be as a person grows up. If the family doesn’t have strong values, skills will develop based off the environment. This can be a tough thing to learn, not
The family is the first institution of the five basic social institutions. It is responsible for developing the behavior of each person to be interactive individuals in society. It is responsible for supplying the basic needs of each person during their development. Unfortunately, the image of family has been deteriorated considerably. Instead of being a system support for people, it has become a double edged sword. Society is at fault for how bad the concept of family is today. It is just takes watching the news on television or to reading the newspaper to realize this. We can see headlines like "Father abused his daughter", “Woman is victim of domestic violence", "Child suicide due to
A famous actor, Michael J. Fox once said, “Family is not an important thing it is everything”. In the same way, family will be with one through hard times and love one no matter what. The two stories that best prove family is the cultural element that informs the way individuals view others and the world are Two Ways to Belong in America and By Any Other Name. The impact family has on cultural perspective can be clearly seen when one views the teachings, names, books, and tradition. However, family might not always be the best cultural element, because family may disappoint one or not help them. Despite this, family will still be there for their children at difficult times to help them get through their struggles. Family is the cultural
Family can be defined as people who are related to you, consisting of (but not limited to): grandparents, parents, siblings, and children. Our families affect who we are by raising us in a particular way that coincides with their culture and beliefs. As we age and learn more, we can decide whether we will keep these beliefs or accept a new truth. This can cause people to either embrace their family, or distance themselves.
There are many aspects that contribute to the idea of family. Family by definition, is a group of people related by blood (e.g. parents, siblings, cousins, etc). In class we have read and discussed many pieces of work that depict the influences of family and/or home on the individual. One of the two I will discuss is “Charlotte Temple” by Susanna Rowson, as well as “A Narrative of the Captivity and Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson” by Mary Rowlandson, both of which demonstrate the power of familial bonds and its effect over the course of your life. The impact of family, whether it is weak or strong, will define who you are as a person.
A family is the single most influential factor in the life of an individual. Being in a family brings with it support, relationships, connections, and love that is rarely found anywhere else in a person’s life. However, families are not all the same. Each individual family structure is unique when compared to the next. When looked at from a general perspective there are two main groups of which families fall into.
“Family, a group of individuals connected by either marriage or blood, is the most elementary social, economic, and residential collective unit in most human societies” (Xie, 2013). Family is a vital aspect of every human being’s life. The importance of family is learned at a very early age and it is a factor that applies to all situations. It reflects ethical values and morals of a culture and of a nation as a whole. Every culture has its own interpretation of the meaning of family.
A family can shape one’s identity. A family can guide you through life. They can be supportive and helpful. This is important
Family is important because you know when no one else is there for you, when no one else will care for you. Your family will be there for whatever. People should value their family because when your friends leave you, your family will be there
