I attend Fayetteville State University because of their Nursing Program which has improved of the years they have one of the Top Three Nursing Programs in North Carolina. I want to become a Nurse because I love helping and caring for people which I have did my whole life. Also, my mother inspired me to become a nurse because she wanted to finish school and be a register nurse but did not and I am going to show my mother I can finish college so I can become nurse. The type of nurse I want to be is a Register Nurse because the requirements, responsibility and income. With become a nurse I want to work in a hospital and care for all different types of patient no matter what the illness because I do not disgusted about blood or anything nurse have
After graduating Anacortes High school I plan on attending a four year private liberal arts university. I will be pursing a Bachelors of Science in Nursing leading to a career as a Registered Nurse. My main interest is a specialty in pediatrics. Following a month stay at Children's Hospital after enduring emergency surgery and a difficult recovery I decided nursing is what I'm meant to do. The nurses inspired me, and I hope that I can help a family and child in the same way that they helped
I believe that Nursing is the perfect major where I can help people by caring for their health and which will ultimately affect them their whole lives. I believe a Nurse Practitioner is able to make such a difference in our lives because they are not just a Nurse but in a similar way like a Doctor. Nurse Practitioners are able to care more for the patients than a regular Nurse. Attending the UCLA School of Nursing will help me become a step closer to becoming a Nurse Practitioner. The school is very prestigious and ranked as one of the top nursing schools in the country and is conveniently around my area. I will be able to give back to my community after completing my degree. I will also get a high-level education and cause a positive impact in the healthcare system around my community. I will be able to develop skills that will help me be able to work in a variety of environments and assist those in need. The skills that I will develop will help me develop as a leader and person by being able to communicate with different type of people and be able to cause an impact in their lives. I will be able to work hands-on, especially because the school is involved throughout the community with the clinics and hospitals. I would be given the opportunity to accomplish all this without having to go far from
The institution that I have decided to attend is the University of Central Florida. The main reason why I chose this school was because it will help me save money and I won’t need to travel anywhere to get my degree. Another big reason as to why I chose this school is because they have many great programs that will help me be better prepared when I begin my career such as their Modeling, Stimulation, and Training Epicenter which is used to prepare nursing students with different types of scenarios that they might face while working and also helps them work hands on rather than watching someone else do the job. UCF was also a good choice because their Medical Mission trips could help me and other nursing students travel to other places in the
I want to become a nurse because as a baby I had many difficulties in coming to this world. From being eight months premature and breech, my mother had a hard time giving birth to me. She had to fly from the island of Kauai to Oahu to give birth to me and because I was eight months premature I almost didn't survive. I would not be here today if it weren't for the nurses at Kapiolani Medical Center who took care of me and nursed me into a healthy little baby. These nurses helped me fight for my life and when I was discharged, they gave me a little green doll that I still hold onto until this very day. For this reason, I have the desire to work hard and become the neonatal nurse that I always wanted to be. Being a neonatal nurse will give me the opportunity to
The factor that made my decision to choose nursing as my major was mother, Esther. My mother has been a registered nurse for as long as I can remember. When I was younger, my mom would bring me to work with her on some of her night shifts at A.I DuPont Children’s Hospital. I remember going to each room and visiting the patients. It made me happy that my mom was their nurse, and was there to help them get better. As I got older, that feeling of me wanting to make a difference in someone else’s life never went away. There are many different types of nurses in the nursing field. My field of preference is to become a Neonatal Nurse. I enjoy working with babies, and studying closely on how they grow, and develop. Some of the characteristics my mom
Why did you choose to practice nursing? Throughout my 2015 fall semester, I really enjoyed the pre-requisites as a Pre-med major. Entering my 2016 spring semester, I began to struggle and question if this was really what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I have always known I wanted to be in the medical field however; I just did not know what field. So I began to think exactly what I wanted to do. My mom is a dental assistant, so I thought about going into dental hygiene. So I job shadowed and instantly I knew that was not what I wanted to do. I went home that night and began researching majors. I thought about Physicians Assistant. I job shadowed a Southern Bone and Joint and realized I did not want to do that either. After job shadowing, I became very discouraged and began to pray and ask God to guide me where he wants me to serve. I really never considered becoming a nurse. I actually told my parents that I knew that I did not want to be a nurse. However, God had other plans for me. I talked to many people about nursing and what all it had to offer. I have always been a caring person that wants to help those in need and I believe nursing is the perfect profession for me. So I began to finish my pre-requisites and researched some nursing schools. I have always wanted to attend the University of Southern Mississippi. I love the people and the Golden Eagle spirit. After many
My principal goal in attending Arizona State University is to make every sacrifice necessary in order to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing and to pass the NCLEX examination. I am beyond excited to have this opportunity to go to ASU, and to be able to grow and discover more about myself. I hope while I attend college I will be able to find a nursing pathway that best suits me and my personality. I plan on working as hard as I can to obtain the highest grades I am capable of earning. I have had many personal experiences that have guided me to choose nursing as a career choice. I am immensely grateful for my family, teachers, leaders, and friends who have supported and helped me while I found my individuality and made goals for my future.
Growing up my mother worked as a nurse which consequently built a strong respect as well as admiration for the profession. However, up until the day I left for college I never considered this career for me. As a last resort I made checklist to try and determine the major that best fit my aspirations for the future. Nursing immediately jumped out at me and since then I have been infatuated with the goal of becoming a nurse.
A college education will improve my quality of life not only by helping me get where I want to be but also helping others around me. Becoming a nurse is not easy but it is so worth it in the end. By continuing my education as an Licensed Practical Nurse and going on as a Registered Nurse I will be able to help so many more people. Getting an education in a career that improves peoples lives is a great feeling knowing I made a
My entire life I have always wanted to become a Registered Nurse (RN) because my grandmother was a nurse and I always had the need to care for others. I would always “play nurse” as a child with my family members and I always enjoyed helping them out and making them feel better. After applying for a few programs of nursing at a few schools and not getting in, I decided to just take a few general classes at a University. I realized I was
I decided to major in Nursing because I knew I always wanted a career in the health field, but I do not want to go to medical school. At least right now I do not want to, but that may change in the future. Nursing interests me because I would have options about what kind of nurse I want to be, who I want to work with and the setting I would like to work in. There are a lot of topics that interest me as a nursing major. I’m mostly interested in the hands on experience and actually doing the clinical trials. I’m interested in that because I know once I start that I’ll be one step closer to my degree and that means one step closer to being a Registered Nurse. The areas that I think I will have some difficulties in are the science classes unfortunately. Science has never been my best subject, but I know I’ll have to put more of an effort when it comes to those classes.
Nursing school experience varies for every person attending. Each person has different learning style and how they interpret information. The nursing program of Evergreen Valley College was an experience that was difficult, eye opening and a rewarding experience. Nursing school in Evergreen was not your ordinary type of college education because it requires constant adapting, evolving of skills, and improvement in knowledge. During the next two years of the program students will be adapting the schools theme of the “Client Needs Model,” a comprehensive framework for identifying nursing actions and competencies necessary for client care in a variety of settings and throughout the life span. Students will start from basics such as learning how to clean/ wash/ bathe patients to learning what to do in critical situations. As everyone needs to start somewhere, in first semester is where basics and fundamentals are being taught. Students learn how to communicate, assess primary needs and learn to do their head to toe assessment. During the second semester is when students begin to learn some pathophysiology of chronic illnesses such as diabetes, hypertension, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Students will learn which interventions are acceptable for each symptoms using the nursing process. During this semester is also when students learn how to deal with pregnant patients and newborns. With the education they have received they will be able to learn to
I want to major in nursing because I’ve come from a strong family of women who’ve taught me to always treat others great and you will be treated better. I have a big heart I believe helping anyone I can it means I’m also bettering the world. As a nurse I know I will meet people on some of worst and best days of their lives and I want to be the person that comforts them, that can bring a smile to their tired exhausted faces. I know the world at the moment needs people that are willing to go the extra mile for another and I know I’m that person. As a nurse I will be making huge difference in people’s lives, By watching my grandmother who was a nurse for over 25 years I saw first hand what it was like to be in love with your career. Although often

Becoming a nurse is what I am meant to do. I am a very caring, supportive, and patient person. I try my best to help anyone that I can to the best ability possible. I have been a very hard worker throughout my years of schooling. My godmother, Aunt Mary, has influenced my decision on furthering my education to become a nurse. She is always patient and caring about all of her patients at the hospital. She is very supportive of me going into nursing. I am willing to work very hard and diligently as a nurse. I have always seen myself in a profession where I could help people out in any way possible. I am looking forward to be going into nursing school and learn all the things I need to know. I know it won’t be easy but I will work very hard to
