Chanoyu, in Japanese is commonly known as a tea ceremony in English focuses on self discipline and refinement of oneself. The tea ceremony symbolizes the ideals of harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility through preparing for the hosts and drinking tea for the guests. During tea ceremonies, the hosts creates a “once in a lifetime” ambiance for the guest - something that is within the moment and is unforgettable. The host prepares the tea using high grade matcha, in hopes to make a satisfying bowl of tea for the guest. The way of tea is heartwarming and respected amongst the host and guests. Chado was influenced by Zen Buddhism and has lived on for many generations in the Japanese culture (Varley & Kamakura, 1989). In the 21st century,
The tea in the harem takes place in a suburb of Paris, a suburb where violence rules and desire diminishes. The book tea in the harem looks closely into the life of two characters, Pat and Majid. While reading the book we see that these two men are strictly grown around troubled cultures, drugs, and alcoholics. Throughout the book you see that their lives are fully involved around large amounts of despair, and hopelessness. The whole book is predominately wrapped around the idea of despair. Despair will cause women to start giving up their bodies and for the men to start smoking and drinking. Being that they are in the suburbs of Paris there is no way for them to escape from this massacre. Most characters in the book look to join gangs and violence as their way out of society.
Women also take part in spiritual aspect where they serve as healers of cultic functionaries. The explanation of Olademo(2012) suggested that healers are individuals who help to restore health to sick people and help them to overcome the undesirable condition. When someone in the community suffers from sickness, it is considered that the person is out of tune with nature (Olademo, 2012, p. 53) which is also a sign that the person is losing the power he attains. This is the reason why healing is crucial in Yoruba religion because it represents the completeness of person, family and the community. Women are predominantly tide with every sector of daily life. Most commonly, women are known as caring, meticulous, and humane. The job of healing is compatible with the characterizations described above of women. The duties of women healers are to remember all of the herb names and its usage, as they are great importance in treating and healing sick people. Furthermore, women healers offer consultation services for sick individuals, which some may require both religious and physical healing. The position of woman healer is a great resemblance of being a mother. They are so similar in the fact that they both demand caring and patient. Unfortunately, there are constraints and prohibitions because the women’s physiological structure that prevent them from touching the spiritual elements and refraining them to

Women’s Essential Experience (WEE) took place during the Purposeful Living and Spiritual Development quarter and my experience was heightened with the principle focus of intention. I cracked open a wall of withholding, hurt, pain and sadness and began filling this space within me with nourishment, care, and feminine adoration. This intentional presence carried over to life at home as I confronted my Dad, brother-in-law, and ex-husband in sharing my truth as there was a great deal of judgement and fear as the women in my family were attending WEE. When I showed up at work, I set out to talk with as many of my female allies as I could, sharing my learns and the visions I had for them. I saw my executive director, Ray Klavon, and I shared with him my leadership vision to lead more effectively with feminine perspective. Living with intention, guided my moves so that I went for my yearnings. I went for nourishment, contact, affirmation, and I felt satisfaction.
Women have been confusing men since time began so I’ve decided to research why they confuse us so much.
Midwives and obstetricians recommend that pregnant women take extreme precautions when taking medications. Although seemingly harmless, natural products such as eucalyptus oil can cause unforeseen side effects during pregnancy . However, these home remedies pose a number of theoretical risks to the mother and developing fetus. Consult your doctor before using cough drops of eucalyptus oil or any other medication or supplement.
Many people suffer from anxiety, and many of those people suffer from dependency and addiction from the pharmaceuticals that are prescribed to patients on a daily basis. There are many solutions to these problems, a common solution is Aromatherapy. Aromatherapy is not only beneficial but a great replacement for traditional drugs. As addiction and dependence on prescription drugs continues to increase due to large pharmaceutical companies and doctors who over-prescribe, it is in society's best interest to look beyond those traditional methods. This will allow people to seek alternative therapy to aid homeopathic healing such as aromatherapy and help to develop a more self-sufficient society as a whole.
Giving back to those who aren't as fortunate is a feeling that is unlike any other. When looking for what book to choose, “Three Cups of Tea’ jumped out at me due to that factor of giving back. The book takes the reader through Greg Mortensen’s life and his quest to build schools, and give back to the impoverished peoples throughout Pakistan. Mortensen has been an avid climber since he was a young boy, and on his descent on a failed climb on one of the worlds most dangerous mountains which is located in Pakistan, he is in very bad condition and lost from his fellow climbers, Mortenson stumbles into the village of Korphe where he is tended to by the local people there. Inspired by their care for him, and also shocked by their lack of schooling,
Women experience many different feelings and emotions during labor. Fear, anxiety, excitement, and happiness are just some of the emotions and feelings that a woman may experience while giving birth. Smith, Collins, and Crowther (2011) described labor pain as the most intense pain a woman can experience in her lifetime. Aromatherapy has been around for many years, and it uses the sense of touch and smell as a non-medical treatment. When aromatherapy is inhaled, impulses are sent to the brain, which lead to the release of neurological substances that can help stimulate, suppress, or soothe what the essential oil is treating (Kaviani, Azima, Alavi & Tabaei, 2014).
Throughout the Gita Govinda, the sense of touch is used to explore feminine and masculine sexuality as well as attitudes surrounding the experience of sex from the perspective of the male and the female. These nuanced ideas can be seen clearly in Krishna’s overall experience of Radha in the narrative, which tends to be raw, physically sexual, and carnal, whereas as Radha’s experience of Krishna tends towards the loving, the caring, and the nurturing. Krishna’s sexual appeal draws from his behaviors and his ornamentation whereas Radha’s sexual appeal derives directly from her physicality. On the other hand, the Ramayana presents a very different paradigm of sexuality and male-female relationships, where both men and women are highly sexualized and noted for their attractive physical features, or lack thereof. Both Rama and Sita are sensually described throughout the text, heavily emphasizing the aspect of sexual touch. By juxtaposing these texts, we are able gain further insight into gender stereotypes and bias of ancient Indian civilization.
he value of beauty in this world depends on the high costs of achieving it; such a cost may be physical. There are various modern rituals that cause women pain, including wearing high heels, tight clothing, and receiving plastic surgery. When women wear high heels it can cause lower back pain and lead to podiatric disorders; they also can restrict women’s ability to run in case of danger or emergencies. Tattoos and piercings can be painful to get, and when done incorrectly can lead to infections. Other painful modern tasks such as shaving and waxing can lead to skin irritations. There is also the negative effects that dieting can have on your body, including irritability, difficulty concentrating, confusion, and reduced reasoning. Plastic
Women’s health in the United States has advanced greatly in the last 200 years. From the Popular Women’s Movement in the early to mid-1800s, where reforms were largely centered on the elimination of corsets, to Roe vs. Wade and the creation of the Office of Women’s Health Research, women’s health has come a long way and is still evolving1. In the practice of physical therapy, women’s health has progressed from gynecological care to a whole-person, holistic approach to women’s health. "The realm of women 's health really looks at physical therapy for a woman throughout her life span," says Wendy Featherstone, PT, president of APTA’s Women’s Health Section and owner of Specialty Physical Therapy in New York2. Researchers have long known that sex plays a role in health. Therefore, research in women’s health is key to advancements in personalized medicine for both sexes.
