This is Christopher Tuong from you're fifth period class. English has always been a hard class for me, especially when I was in elementary school. I used to practice reading and writing everyday in order to build my skills. I’m proud to say my reading and writing skills are much improved, but I feel like I have a long way to go. Last year, I took English 9 Honors with Mrs.Roberts. My favorite part of the class was when the whole class did Socratic Seminars and talked about the book that we were reading. During the summer, my favorite hobby to do with my family is to go fishing. My dad taught me how to fish when I was very young and loved it ever since. Fishing took a lot of patience and I struggled to wait for a long time to catch a fish.
Hunting and fishing are my two favorite outdoor activities. There is a certain level of competition that involves hunting and fishing. I learned to have a great deal of patience; I understand the wait is well worth the reward. Shooting that big buck or catching that trophy fish are a couple things that make me admire the outdoors and the creatures in nature. Every day is a new adventure because nature changes every day. Sitting 20 feet up in the tree or floating on the water continuously for countless hours is a couple things that make people think differently of my choice in
Fishing is a fun way for me to spend some time with my family members and just relax feeling the refreshing breeze hit my face. I enjoy going with my older brother to the lake here in Newton or Out in other towns. One time me and my brother went to a lake outside of Newton in a different town and stayed there for most of the day. We hardly caught anything but it was fun being out there with only my older brother. And the fish we did catch were all to small to take home to cook and man I wish we did catch a big one.
First off, I want to thank you for making this year and my first honors English experience fun for me! Though this year was challenging for me, it has also been extremely knowledgeable. From my freshman year to sophomore year, I can definitely notice the difference in my writing and reading. I can definitely see how much I have grown, and I am sure you could see these improvements too. Last year, I was in regular English and jumping from regular to honors was a huge step for me, which at first, I was not fully comfortable with. But as I got to know this year’s class and of course you, Mrs. Walker, I felt like I belonged here, in an honors English class. Throughout this year, I have learnt and improved at my skills of properly annotating texts, writing a proper claim, analyzing author’s style, and also analyzing rhetorical situations.
This weekend I will be going up to my granny house and be fishing there. We will try to catch all the fish we can. We will eat lunch and supper there also. We will be fishing on a boat or the dock. We will a three rods to fish with. They will probably be all small fish. We will be swimming and fishing the whole time. When we go there will be my grandpa's brother and sister will be there. We will try to catch crappies and sunfish.
My grandpa loved to be outdoors no matter what he was doing. He loved to take anyone fishing, whether that be family or friends. He used to
My name is Elizebeth Putnam and I have been assigned as your Level 3 student this fall. My first day will be Friday, September 29th. I am looking forward to meeting you and your students. I have attached my autobiography which I am using for student teaching in the spring but I thought it would give your students an opportunity to know a little information about me before I come this week. Thanks.
Thank you to all the students, professors, and my coach for your support, encouragement, and feedback. As I previously stated in my introductory post, I love read but hate to write, which was probably not the best words to say entering an English class, but with your support, not only have I made it through this course, but I have also enjoyed the journey.
When not in school, I enjoy doing crafts, reading, and spending time with family and friends. These activities have absorbed the greater part of my summer. I spent the entire month of July in Pasadena at my grandparents house as well as helping at church day camps and attending one myself.
This English class has been an amazing learning experience for me. It made me grow as a writer, I am now more convinced when I write and can express myself more effectively, so readers understand what it is exactly that they’re reading about. Although I didn’t get off to a great a start in this course and if I had to do it over again, there are definitely some things that I could have done better. Interacting with my peers on the discussion board, made me learn a few things about working with others and the Smart thinking was helpful as well. However, above all the things I learned from this course, the most was about myself. The knowledge
My name is Ben Gourley, and I am in your fourth period honors language arts class. I really enjoy Language Arts, because I love to write, and share all of my exciting stories. Outside of school I do not spend much time indoors. I would much rather be outside hanging out with friends and having a great time. I have two older siblings, my brother Max, and my sister Maria. Both Max and Maria are freshman this year, as they are twins. One other very important thing to me is my dog, Maisy. She is a very playful dog that my family adores. This year I cant wait to get to spend time in your classroom, and get to know more about you.
Sophomore year, I met my favorite teacher. I was unsure of how I would like the class because I don’t typically enjoy the classes everyone loves going to. However, Mrs. Moore relit my passion for writing and by making it interesting and explaining different ways to make it better. I learned creative and subtle ways to make my essays and speeches the best they could be. She has taught me ways to improve my writing I will use until my very last paper.
I like to play soccer during most of my free time. When I was younger I played for HOT (Heart of Texas) soccer for a few years and then transferred over to YMCA soccer. I play a game almost every Saturday and practice once a week. Another hobby I have is traveling with my family. We like to camp and visit state and national parks. This past thanksgiving break we visited a couple national parks. For example, Sequoia National Park, Zion National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, and Hoover Dam. I also enjoy bike riding in the woods. I bike ride during the warm weather with my father in Cameron Park or Wood Way
One of my favorite things to do year-round is playing sports. Sports are fun to play, they require hard work, and are healthy for you and your body. There are many sports to play, and I play them all!!
Mrs. Thompson influenced me to thoroughly enjoy language arts class and to look forward to it. She has taught me how to improve my writing and to identify how other authors develop their stories. I appreciate this because I have something to look forward to every day - language arts class. I also have learned countless root words, techniques, and how to use specific word choice to my advantage. I admire her because not only does she help kids grow, but she also has a closer relationship to each and every one of us which makes it very easy to ask for help. When I had to write an application essay for a high school, Mrs. Thompson didn’t hesitate to help me. Her relationship with the class is something that you do not see often. She made learning enjoyable and I am thankful that I had Mrs. Thompson as a teacher because I do not know if I would have loved language arts as much as I do
8. I like fishes and fishing I like to fish from the pier or at the creeks. Fishing is great hobby who takes it
