The first cooking show I watched was Chopped. Chopped is a competition show where contestants are given a diverse array of ingredients that are unusual and don’t necessarily go well together. Some of the strange ingredients the contestants were given included pink marshmallow peeps, a chocolate bunny, and also a lamb leg. The idea is to create a dish using all the ingredients you are given to make a dish. There are three rounds, appetizer, entrée, and dessert. Each round one contestant is eliminated or “chopped” from the competition until two contestants are left standing in the dessert round. People were mistreated during WWII and were tortured in POW camps. Louie Zamperini, a character and a real person from the book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand, was in the army during WWII and had to go through the torture of being a prisoner at a camp in Japan. In the book Unbroken, Louie was going to be a famous Olympic runner until the Olympics were cut short when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor and caused World War II to start. Louie drafted in the air force and crashed on a mission; he had to live on a raft for 47 days without any food or water. He was washed ashore on a Japanese island and became a prisoner of war. War is a state of armed conflict between different nations, states or groups (War).No one can think of a time when the United States has not been in a war because this nation is constantly fighting.
