The knowledge should not limit to the boundaries of formal education and one should dive into the depths in order to understand the core concepts. Gardner believes that a scholarly mind channelizes human thoughts and gives it a direction. If a mind is not schooled properly, it is likely to get carried away by unnecessary beliefs. Facts and statistics are not just bits and pieces of information. They have a lot to comprehend and therefore, a mind ready for the future should be well trained in essential disciplines.
Next, Gardner informs us about the Synthesizing mind and its course of action. He highlights that a synthesizing mind is capable to extract the relevant information from the floods of information directed towards us, screens it and uses it in complement to the activities that demand its employment. Linking together ideas and concepts have largely become a key to understanding the complexities. If one has the ability to weave together strands of information and develop a strategy that is on the go, he is highly likely to excel in the future.
Another mind characteristic that Gardner throws light over is the Creating mind and its relevance to the future. A creating mind always comes up with questions that help you enter new genres and explore the existing ones. Gardner signifies that the major reason why humans still have control is because of the spark of innovation in them which computers cannot
In Temple Grandin’s “The World Needs All Kinds Of Minds”, she argues “... The world is going to need all of the different kinds of minds to work together. We’ve got to work on developing all these different kinds of minds.”
In the article, “The Future Is Now: It’s Heading Right at Us, But We Never See It Coming”, Joel Achenbach speculates that major advancements are not displayed in the media, discussed by important figures, nor anticipated by the general public; The events taking place are not acknowledged until they are actively making a difference in society. According to Achenbach, the majority of us are oblivious to science and technological advancement, two major development advocates, due to the discourse involved. Most of us have a generalized perception of what is behind major changes in society, and are intimidated by the intellectual process that occurs beforehand. Achenbach then explains how we overlooked a worldwide phenomenon such as the internet.
Gardner examined many subjects to decide upon the seven intelligences in his Multiple theories of Intelligence. Gardner finally concluded that intelligent behavior does not come from one single quality of the mind. He believed that different intelligences are generated from different metaphorical pools of mental energy, and that these pools enable people to solve problems or create products that are valued within one or more cultural settings. He came up with this concept from his experiences working with members of different populations where certain cognitive abilities are apparent even in the absence of basic abilities. For example, when an autistic person is a genius at math and lacks the ability to tie his shoes.
The theories of Howard Gardner and Urie Bronfenbrenner are at the heart of my educational philosophy. I firmly believe in Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences Theory, and his perspective that everyone has their own individual learning style. This is important to know, especially when working with children. Understanding how each child learns best and the way they process information provides teachers with a unique viewpoint into each student and allows for opportunities to teach in a way that fosters many benefits for everyone. Using Gardner’s theory as a basis for my teaching, allows me to plan meaningful, curriculum and create a classroom environment that encourages success for each child and their families. Following the ideals of Bronfenbrenner will allow me to see who the child is, and what his or her influences are. Knowing the traditions and culture the child comes from, will give me a better understanding of their life experiences and the belief system of their family.

“The human mind is our fundamental resource,” John F Kennedy. When I was little, my parents always guided me towards expanding my intellectual horizons. I quickly learned what JFK had expressed long before my time, that my mind was my core asset. In elementary school I would spend every moment not spent doing homework or playing outside watching whatever documentary I could get my hands on. I would often ask my dad to teach me new math concepts, or my mom to take me to the library. All of this made school a breeze, I did not need to put forth the same effort other students did. I learned a lot, but the most important lesson did not come from my parents or books.
Gerald Graff questioned the core components of the school curriculum in relation to intelligence throughout his essay titled, “Hidden Intellectualism.”. He believes that schools should attempt to base their studies around the interest of the students, rather than the foundations that many students are disinterested towards. Developing a syllabus revolving around youth culture may translate to better arguments that focus on the analysis, debate, and reflection from the scholars. He explained that arguments are the key to learning, as it allows people to obtain facts and use it to form opinions and interpretations to share with others. Integrating topics obtained by society may alter the definition of intelligence, as pupils will be engaged in their studies. In addition, the stereotype of what it means to be clever will also adapt to be more accepting if a balance between interests and academics is generated.
Education is equal to deliberate and think analytically upon a knowledge, one must periodically deliberate their level of knowledge and comprehension so as to protect it from degenerate and through this, it helps to gain a better understanding on many subjects and concepts.

To truly think about knowledge brings about some interesting thought. When asked to think about knowledge, most individuals concern themselves solely with what they know such as certain subjects, theories or facts. In the grand scheme of things, this way of thought is seemingly only minute or even superficial. As human beings, we do not always considered how we come to know what we know. We often place are acquisition of knowledge lower in a taxonomy of importance. All too often, individuals take knowledge and its power for granted. However, individuals like René Descartes and his work, The Meditations, provide a deep exploration of knowledge and all its facets. For every individual or scholar this work is very important in that it causes
Julia Fincher in the article, The Future Four: Why Olympic Gymnastics Team Will Have Four Members in 2020, states that in 2020 the Olympic Gymnastics committee will be cutting the team sizes down from five to four members. This is a disadvantage and an advantage and can be argued from both sides, this article argues from both points of view.
From the start of time, to present day, the only way to achieve almost anything this world is to have an education. But, who decides if you’re properly educated, and where does this education come from? What it means to be educated is perceived differently by everyone. To me, education focuses on the mind. But more specifically, factors and characteristics that shape one’s mind. To be educated means one should have the ability to think critically, show respect, and have a level head while obtaining some overall knowledge.
Michael Garvin October 15, 2014 Comparing Gardner & Bacon Standardized tests and similar testing has become a principal mode of measurement for the success or failure of schools and scholars in our public educational organization today. It is because of this that classes are currently being taught basically to serve students in turning over a number of standardized exams that they run across during their education. Due to this, students are no longer getting their training in a comprehensive format, such as learning to real life situations, and a broad understanding of the concepts being taught to them. Howard Gardner’s essay “Designing Education for Understanding” highly agrees with some concepts written by Francis Bacon in his essay “The Four Idols.”
The Representational Theory of Mind proposes that we, as both physiological and mental beings, are systems which operate based on symbols and interpretations of the meanings of such symbols rather than beings which operate just on physiological processes (chemical reactions and biological processes). It offers that humans and their Minds are computing machines, mental software (the Mind) which runs on physical hardware (the body). It suggests, too, that we are computing machines functioning as something other than a computing machine, just as every other machine does.
lot of benefits and disadvantages, which would increase in the coming years. Artificial Intelligence would be beneficial to humans because we have a lot to improve upon in our society. Artificial Intelligence would be a great asset, but it should be treated with caution.
