Mindsets are beliefs that you have about yourself such as; intelligence, personality and talents. The difference between a fixed mindset and a growth mindset is that people with a fixed mindset believe that their skills and talents are a given, and mostly worry about how adequate they are in the eyes of others. On the other hand a growth mindset is someone who sees potential for improvement and development through dedication and effort in everything they do. Growth mindset is a beneficial way to improve your communication competence (pg.20) with others, having competence involves achieving your goals while improving a relationship. A good example of this would be a person in a sales position. Most people I have known in these types positions
The growth mindset is a project in my middle school that teaches us a positive way to move forward in school. If you get a grade you're not happy with, it is seen as inspirational because lessons can be learned from it for further learning. In the former president's speech, Barack Obama had said: “Our nation has been flawless from the start, but that we have shown the capacity to change and make life better for those who follow.” This indicates adherence to a growth mindset because it shows that there is room to learn and change a learn as a nation, especially for the other people who trail behind. The value that I put on freedom, equality and privacy as an adolescent is a lot. If I didn't have these rights, I wouldn't be able to go places, feel safe in my own home, and I would be discriminated by my age or race.
Your mind a powerful thing. The stories you tell yourself and the things you believe about yourself can either prevent change from happening or allow new skills to blossom. Recently, I've been learning more about the link between our beliefs and our behaviors. Dweck is well known for her work on “ the fixed mindset vs the growth mindset”. She describes the difference between these two ideas and how they impact your performance.
Growth mindset is the cone to an ice cream. It is the foundation of what I think a successful person is. Without it one couldn’t use the characteristics mentioned above in more ways than one. Someone with a growth mindset believe that their most basic abilities can be developed through dedication and hard work, brains and talent are just the starting point.
In Flipped, Bryce has a fixed and growth mindset because of two reasons I have. The first reason shows he has a fixed mindset which is about when Juli gives Bryce the eggs her chickens laid. The second reason shows that he also has a growth mindset which was when Bryce plants a tree in Juli’s front yard. My reasons show that Bryce has a fixed and growth mindset from what I know about Bryce.
A fixed mindset is when someone believes the abilities you are born with are the ones you will always have, and they cannot be changed. Children who possess a fixed mindset are likely to attribute their success to pure luck and their failures to ability or lack thereof. This is also known as learned helplessness. Children with a growth mindset, however, have a contrasting perspective. They believe abilities can be improved over time with an input of effort. They attribute their success to their abilities and their failures to variables that can be easily altered. As I have mentioned in the past, I fall under the authoritative parenting style. Because an authoritative parenting style is firm but caring and encouraging, I have cultivated a growth
To compare and contrast the two is very easy because they are very alike yet very different. A fixed mindset is wanting to look smart without doing the work like avoiding challenges , giving up easily and not getting things your full effort they also hate constructive criticism which leads them to feel threatened by others success. A growth mindset is someone who want to learn and challenge themselves and over come all setbacks so that they can master what they are learning they take constructive criticism very well which leads them to become happy at the success of others.
People have mindsets, Fixed and Growth mindsets. Some people respond With a fixed mindset means that people`s intelligence is “fixed” or permanent.
Dweck believes that someone who possesses a “growth mindset” is almost the polar opposite of someone who has a “fixed mindset.” A person with a growth mindset is able to think positively and see the silver lining of an unfavorable situation. They are able to improve from their mistakes, and always finds a way to become better at different aspects of life. Growth mindsets come with an open mind, making these people extremely versatile in any circumstance. In addition, their mindsets increase in complexity through maturity. They believe that as long as anyone puts in the effort, they have the potential to succeed.
“The Growth Mindset” by Rona Elisa talks about the difference between people with a fixed mindset and a growth mindset and how to overcome from fixed to growth mindset. People with a fixed mindset believe that their basic traits and skills are permanent and that it is a natural talent. Therefore, they do not challenge themselves in order to avoid any failure situations because they want to prove they are smart. Whereas, people with a growth mindset put the effort in learning to improve their basic qualities and skills. So, when it comes to challenging situations people with a fixed mindset either they try to avoid it or blame others, make up excuses, and/ or criticize in order for them to save their self- worth.
By reading the book Mindset: The New Psychology of Success people are able to determine if they are fixed-mind set or growth mind set. There are many people across the world who are fixed-mind set and believe that their abilities and intelligence cannot change. They dwell on the problems at hand and fail to recognize alternative ways to solve them. This group tends to have low self-esteem so they will prove themselves to others so they can feel superior academically or skilled related. If they fail at their task, they become more concerned with other’s thoughts, which diverges them from the actual objective. On the other hand, growth mind set is completely different from fixed-mind set. Growth mind set is someone who accepts the problem and thinks of a positive or useful way to fix the issue. This person believes that their strengths and weakness can grow with time and practice. These two mind sets help scientists explain why people act differently when faced with the same difficult situation.
Eduardo Briceno pointed out the two different mindsets in “The Power of Belief--- Mindset and Success” video, the fixed and growth mindsets. A fixed mindset is when people think intelligence or abilities as fixed. Meaning they believe they don’t need to improve on their

Safety in everything we do has been taught to us at one point or another. In many cases we overlook the skills we have been taught sometimes and forget to act as we should. The Air Force teaches during resiliency training the concept of a growth mindset. The focus is on teaching the Airmen to growth their understanding of themselves and others and be open to learning the skills in different ways.
Growth mindset, executive function, and empathy are three habits of mind that can help people achieve their goals. To have a growth mindset means to have a goal to have a growth in something. Persistence is important in this process because you don't want to give up on your goal. Some examples of people using a growth mindset is like Michael Jordan how he got kicked of his sholar basketball team. He didn't give up. He became a good basketball player and became very successful. You can benefit from a growth mindset because because that's like a common goal you have for yourself that you want to achieve. Something I have a growth mindset on is getting better at math and becoming a stronger dancer. Somethings i can do to differently is payattetion
There are many ways a growth mindset can affect an individual. Commonly growth mindsets have a more positive effect on your life. The mindset you attain, growth or fixed, is dependent on the views you adopt from a young age. There are much more pros than cons for a growth-minded person compared to a fixed minded person. One of the ways growth mindset is more beneficial than a fixed mindset is that intelligence is developed over time. A growth mindset is associated with the desire to learn and the ability to continue despite an obstacle, whereas fixed mindset is associated with the desire to appear smart and will give up easier when faced with an obstacle. A few more differences between the two are growth mindset focuses on learning from criticism and is inspired by others' success, while fixed mindset ignores useful feedback and is threatened by others' success.
