On a sunny summer morning at my house the annoying birds woke me up as always, but this was not an ordinary day. I was going to my friend Bruno's house. His house was just on the other side of Lake Tranquility. There was two weeks of summer left before we had to go back to jail which is also known as school. I was going to go to his house at 11:50 in the morning. I had pancakes with syrup for breakfast, then I got my clothes on and packed a bathing suit in a bag for Bruno’s house, because he has a pool. I watched Netflix and played on my kindle for a while. “Evan we got to go now,” my mom yelled. “Coming!” I yelled back. We got into the car drove over a couple hills, took a couple turns, went up a big hill, and took a left , then we were there. “Hi Bruno,” I yelled. “Hi,” He yelled back. “Let’s go inside,” Bruno said. We walked inside his house and looked at all of his Legos. He has like a million of them. That's something we both have in common. We both love LEGOS! After looking and playing with his legos for like fifteen minutes we went outside and played tackle football. Our favorite part about playing tackle football with each other is the tackle part. We both love to tackle each other. “Hike!”, I yelled as I dodged a tackle from Bruno. Running and tackling forever, always getting a chance to score a touchdown. After playing football we went inside and got a cold glass of water with Goldfish. While we were sitting at the table I said ”,Hey Bruno
I was nine-years old in 1952, and it was on a brisk August Sunday afternoon when my Dad took me to my very first 49ers game at Kezar Stadium for an exhibition contest against the Cardinals, from Chicago. As I remember the weather was overcast and the temperature a cool 60 degrees.
Well for me, football is my top favorite sport. When I was in school, I had a problem with authority, and teachers would often make me mad. I tried hard to control my aggression, frustration, and anger. I jumped into drugs and cigarettes to fights and gangs. Because nothing I tried worked, I went to football tryouts. I felt happy and excited for the first time in a long time; I eventually got on the field and ran and ran.
Football wasn’t just a sport for me. It shaped my life in a lot of different ways it helped me become the person I am today. I started playing football when I was twelve years old when I started play it became the best sport ever. I started learning how to do a lot of different stuff on the football field. Football allowed me to take my anger out on the field.
It was a cool saturday morning in february, as I was violently woken up by my alarm clock. I rose out of my bed, and started preparing for my championship hockey game later that day. I got up out of bed and refreshed myself as I stretched. I grabbed my dress shirt and my dress pants and went to my parents room to iron my clothes. Not knowing that the iron was already on and hot, I picked up the iron. The iron fell on my foot, and I frantically grabbed it off the floor. I hoped that it wouldn’t start a fire. My foot was burning with pain. I knew in my head that today was going to be a struggle. Unfortunately, it had to be on the same day of my league championship game.
Football is back as the first preseason game was played last Thursday. With football coming back, so does fantasy football. Like a lot of people (myself included), you’re scouring the internet for rankings. There’s plenty of rankings out there, but none of them tell you where to take a defense. I am going to present my strategy.
My stomach tightened. I had never played free safety before. The ball was snapped, and I watched as the tailback widened out to receive the pitch. Never had I felt such an adrenaline rush.
His little legs churned as fast as they could driving him straight at his opponent. I sensed Matthew wasn’t too sure of himself since he had never expressed any confidence playing our football games or in practices; but this time, the young defender responsible for guarding him was smaller, and Matt had the advantage. He staccato stepped and faked running to the right just as we had planned. His opponent accepting the feigned shift, ran in the misdirection. Suddenly, Matt was all alone in the end-zone; and the football, a perfectly thrown pass designed for Matt, was spiraling toward his small opened hands. The ball hit his palms and bounced skyward, but Matt quickly reached up and grabbed the football securing his touchdown. The families in the stands cheered, and Matt returned to the sideline with a smile and a little more confidence. I coach Matt’s third grade 7 on 7 football team, and this is my third year of competitive football league coaching. Coaching is a luxury I afford myself with my limited free time, and it brings me a lot of satisfaction.
Football has been a big part of my life for as long as I could remember. Ever since I was in 2nd grade football has been my passion. Currently, I stand at 6”8, 260 pounds and I play right tackle for the Fayetteville Bulldogs. Football has shaped me up to the young man I am today and helped me get through the most tragic moment in my life.
Football is the greatest past time entertainment in America, in my opinion. I have always enjoyed watching this great sport, but to actually be in the games takes me to an ultimate level of enjoyment. It may seem strange to most people, but being out in the middle of the field reminds me of being in a great war on the battlefield; where each army is placed in a strategic location to defend its common point. I have always enjoyed playing the sport, during my seventh grade, my ninth grade, and even now my senior year the sport has taken on a whole new meaning for me.
As the bells rang out Edgar gleefully said , “ Hurry up James we need to get there in time to be picked, or else we’re gonna be stuck with the nerds out in the field watching!”, as he ran out to the field toward the road where we would be playing tackle football.
I could hear it, the bell, signaling a touchdown. Except this time it wasn’t one of my teammates, it was me. Oh how I had dreamt about hearing that bell it was the ultimate sensory experience. I knew at that moment that there was a reason you never stopped believing you could do something.
I never expected my life to turn out this way!! 2020 Darren Clayton enters the NFL draft to contend against top players most teams wanted. I was surprised that I had made it that far.Now imam take you back to my childhood. I was only 10 years old in 2010 I wasn’t really a football lover, I was mostly a basketball fan. I mainly played basketball and watched it more than football. I never played football in my life the only sports I played was basketball and baseball but I never pursued it to the fullest it was just something I would do in the mean time to kill sometime in elementary school and middle school. In middle school I got curious about football so I joined the flag football team and played at an tournament against other people. At the tournament we played three teams, we only won
The chills creep up my spine, uncomfortably I notice every single person there was watching my every move. We were going head-to-head with the Vikings, they did very well at intimidating our team to death, but inside I knew we could try. They had some tall buffy people that didn't seem afraid that our dignity was high and on the line. We couldn't waste it here, right now. Next, a loud Screech the referee blew her whistle, and at that moment we knew it was time. We played as if it was the Olympics, even though it was just for fun. Then, the ball went all over the court back and forth meanwhile the crowd screaming, cheering, and excitedly saying, “Go Huskies!”
From gaming to the field be sure to always be on my team, I'm not afraid to lead us to victory and push you to your full potential. If you know me at all you would know I'm a team player just look at what I play. I play sports that involve a team not just myself. I love being team leader but I’m always ok if someone else wants to be in charge. Who I am is someone who isn’t afraid to lead but won't support the next guy to lead because I want to strive to make the greatness show in others.
11:28 pm. This time will forever be embedded into my skull. The night was cold, but the clouds weren’t apparent. The stars displayed an alluring light show. Numerous of stars were scattered across the night sky, almost as if someone threw glitter into the air. The street lights illuminated the road, which gave the perception of blissfulness. My fiance, Conner, and I just finished our college exams that day. To celebrate that special occasion we wanted to do something wild. Being very conservative people, we decided to go to a coffee shop to order a six shot espresso. I met a girl in my chemistry class who said that there was this coffee shop that was open twenty four- seven for college students. Parking was scarce, but it was expected, San Francisco is usually packed, even at 10:30 pm. Once we ordered our coffee we sat down at a small table next to the window. “ So after all the caffeine kicks in, what are we going to do?” Conner said to me with a smile. Of course is his cheeks became concave, and his clear blue eyes shimmered in the light leaving a fluttery feeling inside of me. “ We could go to a gym that's open all night and run on the treadmill to relieve some of our energy. Or we could take a walk down to the Golden Gate Overlook. We could honestly do anything, we have all night,” I uttered while giggling. The barista brought us our coffee, and as soon as the cup touched the table I began to take a sip. This was a habit of my ever since I was a child. My favorite food
