I am dedicated to staying involved in many clubs and programs in my school. Right now I am currently in baseball, choir, Science National Honor Society, National Honor Society, Ruckus and Rowdy, student council, and in our school musical production, Footloose, as a main acting role. My most prominent talents are in baseball and choir. I have been in baseball since I was 3 years old and have always been an athletic kid compared to my peers. I continue to practice and try my best in baseball and despite always trying new sports and activities, I have never skipped a baseball season. Baseball has taught me the importance of teamwork, taking constructive criticism, respect for coaches and teammates, and persistence in improving. In the past two
In total I had joined 6 baseball teams in my whole life (17 years). I don’t want this problem to ever happen again so I’m not planning on joining anymore teams for now, but I may join one during college. I still like baseball even after all these years. Baseball has always been a part of my life. It’s been something I’ve played, it's been something my grandfather has enjoyed, my aunt, and pretty much my whole family. But at the end of the day I think that it was one of the best decisions that I had ever made just because I have more time to do stuff and time to spend with my family members and friends from
By participating in softball, I can have a great time with my team, make new friends, and practice my leadership while helping my teammates become better players. I have always tried my hardest to become the best person that i can be, so i have never been disciplined in a class or as a member of an extracurricular activity or sport. Also, i have never served a detention, been involved in a legal action regarding policy 14 or any other police matter, and i have never committed an act of academic dishonesty. I have always academically challenged myself by taking extra time to study for tests, by taking harder math classes, and by taking an Advanced Placement course this year. When no one is looking, I am the same caring person who is always trying my best to accomplish what ever task is at hand. I have been raised to be the same, caring, mature, and loving person every second of my life no matter what the circumstances
I play football, soccer, basketball, and run track. Consistently, I have evolved into a leader on each team of which I am a member. I am generally considered a captain or play some kind of leadership role on the team. During practices, games, and meets, I have always helped younger or less experienced teammates. Although I am frequently playing two sports at the same time each season, and have many practice and game expectations of me, I have never allowed it to affect my grades. I have maintained nearly straight A’s throughout my elementary school curriculum. I have accomplished this because I am extremely organized and
As a student at Central I’ve done many activities, some in school, some out of school. Activities that I’ve done at Central include; volleyball, cheer, basketball, track and dance crew for the school’s play. Outside of school I’ve done softball, dance and helping with little kids at dance. When I do activities I am very committed to it. For example during basketball season I didn’t miss a single game and went to every practice. Also, whenever I do an activity I work very hard at it and spend time outside of practices, games and performances to become better at it. I feel that this will help me be a good member for MJHS since it will take time and effort to get hours in.
I’ve participated in 3 sports teams since freshman year. I tried out for and joined Cross-Country in August of 2015 and was put on the Freshman-Sophomore team. This year I made it to the 2016 IHSA 2A Cross Country Sectional Champions. I tried out for and joined the women’s basketball team in October of 2015 and this year I was nominated for and became captain of the Junior Varsity team. I tried out for and joined Track & Field in March of 2015 and I have been on the Varsity team since freshman year. I participate in the 100 and 200 meter dashes, low and high hurdles, long jump, triple jump, and shot put. I made it to the 2017 Indoor City Championships for long and triple jump. I am in Key Club, African-Culture and Dance, Recycling Club, Science Olympiad, and Latin Honor Society.
The contributions I have made to my school include participating in volleyball from the fall of 2014 to present. For volleyball, we have collected food for the food pantry, conducted a youth night to teach younger children the fundamentals of volleyball, and a breast cancer awareness night which included raising money to fund breast cancer research. I also participate in dance and softball. For the 2016 softball season I was chosen for the spirit award because of my positive attitude and energy during games and practices. Through hard work and dedication the dance team won conference champs at the 2016 conference competition. I was chosen by my coaches for the Limitless Leader Award and the Sportsmanship Award in 2015 and last year. I have earned a varsity letter in
Throughout the past four years of high school, I have done my best to try and stay actively involved in the community. I have been presented with some amazing volunteer opportunities such as Huron Safety Town, STAR Leadership Camp, American Red Cross, and Huron High School Girl’s Basketball Biddy Program. I spent over 24 hours at Huron Safety Town where I was able to help young students, mainly those going into Kindergarten, learn how to stay safe while on the road. I was also able to spend over 24 hours at STAR Leadership Camp where I was a councilor to those going into the sixth grade. I made sure that each student understood the importance of being a leader in today's society and how important they are to Huron’s community. Through National Honor Society I have been able to maintain in constant contact, approximately 10 hours, with the American Red Cross by volunteering in monthly blood drives. I have also dedicated 16 hours of my time to those young girls interested in someday being a varsity basketball player through the Biddy Basketball Program.
I am a well-rounded student who is dedicated to my academics, while being involved in athletics and in my community. I am a member of the National Junior Honor Society and Student Council, serving the school and students as an eighth grade class representative. Outside of school, I thoroughly enjoy working with children during the summer as a camp counselor at Tall Pines Day Camp. I am also an athlete and team player and view these interactions as opportunities to further build character, learn from others, and exercise good sportsmanship. I am currently the captain of the cheerleading squad, play field hockey in the Fall, and lacrosse in the Spring. Being able to work with and succeed in a team environment is not only critical to my success in the academy, but to that of any medical
I love playing baseball. I continue to practice baseball on the weekends even though it is football season because I need to continue to cultivate my skills to have a chance at playing varsity next season. If I play varsity baseball all four years of my high school career, then I have a high probability to get an athletic scholarship. I want to get a
The school has pushed me outside of my comfort zone by giving students the opportunity to be involved in extracurricular activities. The clubs offered at North Posey make a student feel like they are part of something at the school. This year, I am currently part of Varsity Club and Business Professionals of America. Both of these clubs are something I am extremely passionate about because I love to do both. Business Professionals of America helped me choose the path I want to take to receive my college degree. Without this club, I may still be undecided on my major. Varsity Club has allowed me to stay active in school through sports. The past fours I have played volleyball, tennis, and basketball. All of these sports have helped me become more of a team player. Teamwork is a major value I will need in the future because in a business degree, I will constantly be working with my coworkers to solve a problem. Varsity sports have also taught that it isn’t everything to win. These sports have taught me that by losing you can learn just as much as winning. By being on the court, I have learned how to become a leader. This past year, I was the captain of our volleyball team. Our team had our difficulties but by working as a team and stepping up we were able to prove many people
My name is Amelia Abuali, and I am a Junior at DUAA. I belong in National Honors Society due to my passion for helping others and my dedication to academic success. I have great communication, teamwork, and leadership skills. I usually volunteer to help a group of non-arab kids learn arabic, which helped me develop my communication skills. I had to communicate with the children’s parents, and I had to be able to keep the children on task. Because of this volunteer activity, I developed my communication skills with both adults and children. I demonstrated both my teamwork and leadership skills during my freshman year, as the volleyball captain. As the team captain, I listened to each member’s suggestions and advice, to deliver their ideas to
I have been fortunate to be the recipient of untold hours of guidance of my own coaches and mentors. I can only imagine the sacrifices they have made- time away from family and fatigue just to name a couple. As a result of their investment in me, I have had innumerable opportunities, not the least of which will be the opportunity to attend Rice next fall and play baseball for the Owls. I am doing my best to apply the lessons I've learned through Wylie high school sports, to my life and all the lives I touch through service. All of these lessons impacted my life immensely and will follow me through
I have have attended Diboll High School for the entirety of my my high school career. I have taken great measures to ensure that I am an involved in almost every activity Diboll High School has to offer. While in High School I have been involved in Dazzlers, National Honor Society, SOAR, Spanish club, HOSA, Student Council, One Act Play, UIL Journalism events, FCCLA, Varsity Golf, and ACADEC. I manage
Throughout my high school career, I have found that the two things that I am most passionate about are athletics and music. Since the summer before my freshman year, I have spent countless hours training and preparing year-round for each upcoming athletic season. Whether it was by weight-lifting in the morning before school or by conditioning throughout the summers, the majority of my free time has been occupied by athletics. Even as an elementary and middle schooler I have always been passionate about sports and being active. Not only has it been a great way for me to stay in shape both physically and mentally, it has also helped to create strong, long-lasting friendships with other like-minded peers. Athletics have helped me to create
