What is the specific goal?
My goal is to become a member of the Seeking Success Leadership Program.
How can you measure it?
An application is required as well as a résumé. I will submit both within the required time, which is one week. I will receive an automatic email response from Rutgers Leaders regarding the completion of these tasks.
What actions will you take?
I will seek assistance from an upper classman role model to critique my résumé writing progress. I will carefully and thoughtfully answer the questions.
Why is this goal realistic/relevant?
I was part of the Freshmen 15 Leadership Program last year. It built on procured abilities such as scheduling, team building, communication and reaching resolutions in an 8-week seminar.

During my time in high school, I’ve had an abundance of opportunities to embellish my leadership skills. A week or two before the first day of senior year, I served as a senior leader at Piedmont High School’s annual Freshmen Camp. The purpose of this camp is to familiarize the upcoming freshmen with the school, and also to welcome them to the family. As a senior leader, I gave my group of freshmen a tour of the school, played a variety of games so we could get comfortable with each other, and shared personal experience from my time in high school.
Learning to face the unafraid is very beneficial to society. In society, it opens a door to so many new perspectives. This past summer I was selected to go to Albion College Leadership Camp. Over the one week camp in July., I had a mentor named Monique. Monique was my group leader in charge of teaching us about life and society.
Spring break of my junior year, I attended a leadership camp called RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards). My dad was the president of rotary at the time so I pretty much didn’t have an option in going. I wasn’t too excited about spending my spring break at a leadership camp with weirdos I didn’t know. The camp site was up in the mountains of Ojai so we had to leave my house pretty early. My dad had to stop and pick up some kids from my school that were also going. When they got in the car, I was annoyed and tired. Everyone said hi to me and I just looked at them and put my head phones back in and went to sleep.
Attending the Minority Male Student Leadership Institute conference would be a key moment in my life, this conference will present an opportunity for me to witness guest speakers that will aid me in becoming a better version of myself and advance my success as a college student. This conference will be key in the future I have for my career in computer science as well as the networking opportunities at this conference will benefit me with the ability to meet new people and to learn from their experiences. Furthermore, my participation in this conference will aid my aspirations in becoming an entrepreneur.
Over the past four years, I have devoted a major amount of my time to being active in the ASB Student Government program at my school, under many different officer positions that have each allowed me to grow in numerous scopes of leadership. Looking back, it is evident that all my work within ASB has revolved around in battling one major challenge: the lack of inclusiveness within our community. One of the major obstacles that we face in a populous campus of 3300 is the problem of students feeling like they do not belong. Also, the high school shows minimal interaction with the citizens of our community. As a leader, I set out to be the catalyst, by committing to promote a positive change in school culture.
As someone who attended three different high schools, as well as an out-of-state student for UTD, I have had a multitude of experiences changing schools and adjusting to new environments. Through these experiences, I have developed a resilient attitude towards challenges and a desire to help those going through similar problems. My friends have often described me as an older sister/mom of our group because I tend to be a support network for them, especially as someone who gives advice. Furthermore, through my leadership experiences both at UTD and high school, I am comfortable talking with people and act as a leader to those around me. I enjoy helping others around me and believe that I would serve as a good mentor for incoming freshman.
Many disabled kids are not taken care of properly whether it is at home or school. However, the Peer Assistance Leadership (PALS) program can be a lot of help. To be involved in this program, a little funding is necessary due to the fees that are needed for training. This may be the reason why many schools try to avoid being a part of it. Budgeting can be an issue for some while prioritizing what is beneficial to others. The necessities that special needs kids are required aren't really understood to some people, nor is it considered important due to the fact that they are not educated on this subject. Nor are they aware on the benefits of the PALs program that will make a difference on the disabled kids and their students too. The students
The University of Toledo Levis Leadership program prides itself with creating leaders. The program focuses on giving students with leadership potential the knowledge, skills, and tools to become leaders not only on campus but in their future careers. For me, the proof of this method of producing leadership is shown by the upperclassmen in the program. As a freshman, the upperclassmen are my role models, and I rely on them to set an example of what I can do with my developing leadership. When I met with my LUT mentor, Emma Diesing, earlier in the semester, she set an incredibly high standard for leadership. She is so inspiring because she is only a sophomore and has already achieved so much at the University of Toledo. So when it came to choosing a student leader on campus to interview, I knew she was absolutely the right person to ask.
Hello, I am Kaitlin Docking (Kat) and I am applying for the position of College Leader at Cornerstone College. The position of College Leader is imperative to the functionality of the College; a College Leader is required to accurately and devotedly represent and connect with the student body, a College Leader enthusiastically and consistently demonstrates the morals and expectations of the College, a College Leader makes each student feel important and respected, a College Leader does not discriminate against others, a College Leader must be able to work efficiently in a group, a College Leader must be able to communicate proficiently, and a College Leader must have a strong drive to help others, and I believe I can do all of this (and hopefully more!)
One of the activities i participated in was the emerging leadership conference. This conference was a var of workshops that helped me see more aspects of leadership then just being dominant. I attended two workshops that helped me learn what characteristic are needed to become an effective leader. One workshop
Every summer our members attend the annual State Leadership Conference, where students learn to become stronger leaders, blossom into well rounded individuals, and are inspired to serve their community with more ammbition and motivation. Members come "out of their shells", and become more outgoing.
For my final exam project in teen leadership class, the idea that pop up first in my head was volunteer at my church for the free truck. I was a member of the Vietnamese Youth. As a member of this group, we do many volunteering and activities. The one that I did for my final project is the latest activity that I’ve attended. It was on a sunny Saturday, me and my dad drive us to the church early and there wasn’t many people at that time. As I patiently waited for other people come, I helped the elders preparing the tables and chairs. After that, the truck come with full of foods. As the guys bring the foods down from the truck, we bring it to the table and put it in the bags. Unfortunately, there aren’t so many people coming to take it. We giving away as much as we can and bring home some of it. Since, many people didn’t come we have to throw away all the left over to the trash.
