In the William Shakespeare's play both Romeo and Juliet end up killing themselves. I believe that the most responsible person for there deaths is Friar Laurence. Without his many actions Romeo and Juliet would be alive. The biggest reason Why Juliet killed her self because the Friar just left her all by herself next to Romeo's dead body because he was scared to get caught. In the play the Friar says " stay not to question, for the watch is coming; come, go, good Juliet, I dare no longer stay." The Friar in this quote is basically saying that he is scared and that he has to leave. Unfortunately their love comes to an end, along with their lives, because of a misunderstanding and a persistent feud between their families. Although there are many characters in this play that have contributed to Romeo and Juliet’s death, Friar Laurence is the person most to blame.
When Juliet awoke and saw Romeo was dead, she took her own life. Friar Lawerece and the watcher had not been at the tomb at the time of the dealths. Frairs feared his plan would be detected, “Stay not to question, for watch is coming; come, go, good Juliet I dare no longer stay”(VIII.158-159). He was too selfish to wait, so he left in order to not get caught by the watchers of the prince. Friar Lawrence tried to pull Juliet away from Romeo’s dead body, “Come Come away, the husband in thy bosom their lies dead”(V.III.155-160). Juliet refused to leave. When Friar left, Juliet thought death was her only option, “O happy dagger, this is thy sheath. There rust, and let me die”-Juliet(V.III.175). In the classic play Romeo and Juliet, Friar Laurence plays a major part. Romeo and Juliet trusted him entirely as he was the priest of their town. They turned to the Friar for help and advice at a few crucial points in the play. Little did these two lovers know that their decision to turn to Friar Laurence for help would eventually lead to their deaths. Friar Laurence was responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because he married Romeo and Juliet, he was afraid of committing a sin, and because of his faulty plan for saving Juliet from a marriage to Paris.

The Friar decided to send his own priest to Romeo instead of giving Romeo’s servant the message, we can tell the Friar has done this when Romeo ask his servant “Dost thou not bring me letters from the Friar?”(3.6.38). This leads to Romeo believing that Juliet is dead and eventually leads to Romeo’s suicide.
