Who will establish the future foundation of America? In society we view the high entitled people as our leaders to engage a part of prosperity for America's future, the true leaders of our country is our children and youth. They will become the government, Lawyers, teachers and doctors of tomorrow. There are many youth around the world are faced with highly competitive challenges in their life. As youth and I include myself we imitate what we see. In fact particularly violence.
In the book “The Next Hundred Million – America in 2050” the author Joel Kotkin writes about the future of America when it reaches a population of 400,000 citizens. The central point of this book is that it gives an insight into the evolvement of metropolises, cities, immigrants, businesses, places of worship and families, both in early growing regions and in esteemed older ones. In chapter one: Four Hundred Million Americans it is said that “Suburbs are rarely dominated by one ethnicity, and alongside the temples and mosques you will also find churches and synagogues.” which supports the central point of the improvement and furthering of places of worships which wouldn’t have been so diverse if it wasn’t for the increase of immigrants. In
When other nations jumped into WWI in 1914, America adopted a policy of neutrality. News of the horrors of the war convinced Americans that they had taken the right approach. Many could not believe that a civilized society could resort to such atrocities. Germany’s use of U-boats in unrestricted submarine warfare finally pushed the U.S. to declare war. President Wilson urged for peace based upon the idea of a League of Nations, where many nations would act as one to preserve the peace of all. Although WWI pitted country against country, it also galvanized America, ushering in an era of massive change. Wilson dictated that “Peace had to be a peace of reconciliation, a peace without victory, for a victor’s peace would leave a sting, a resentment, a bitter memory upon which terms of peace would rest, not permanently, but only upon quicksand” (Trueman). Peace came in 1918, although it was not a peace without victory, and a colossal shift in the way of life followed soon after (Trueman).
The Brookings Report provides a useful lens on America’s future by recognizing the demographic shifts that are transforming the metropolitan areas of today. The five new realities represent new changes to metropolitan areas such as the continued growth and outward expansion of our population; its ongoing racial and ethnic diversification; the rapid aging on the horizon; our increasing but selective higher educational attainment; and the intensified income polarization experienced by workers and families
Published in 1888 Looking Backward depicts a future vision of America. Utopian Boston of the year 2000 is designed in a constructive method that excludes capitalism. Through the medium of romantic novel, Bellamy seeks to impose the idea of socialism into the nineteenth-century American society. Written at a period when economic growth went off the rails triggering the rise in unequal distribution of wealth, Looking Backward attempts to propose a reform in social and economic systems.
One Nation: What we can all do to Save America’s FutureSteven HaoIntroductionBen Carson is a great American success story. His rise from poverty in Detroit, MI to become a prominent physician and ultimately run for the Republican Party nomination for President of the United States as an African-American is truly inspiring. His latest book: One Nation: What we can all do to Save America’s Future is Carson’s blueprint on what infrastructural, cultural, ethical, and moral changes American citizens need to make to improve the overall quality of life in the United States. Although Carson’s book seems ambitious in its attempts, the author does a solid job at creating a detailed plan that is not only prescriptive in its instructions, but descriptive
"A living document," stated my government teacher. She repeated it over and over and once more, that the United States Constitution was considered a "living" document. Why would it be considered living, it's just an old piece of paper? Being the old piece of paper that it is, dating back to the year 1787, it still, to this day dictates our day-to-day lives. Our founding fathers created this document with a lot of precaution and thoroughness; but still we question it and ask for change. Many doubts arise when the Electoral College is brought up, whether it should be abolished or if it should be stricter. But the real overall question is if the Electoral College is a good way, rather the right way, to choose our executive
Some might say America’s future is bright, and those who disagree are cynical, but that notion is wrong. Throughout America’s long and bloody history, our leaders have made mistakes that have cost us mistakes. From poverty, to debt, to wars, it’s known that America would do anything to be on top. Even today, we continue to make these mistakes. America is always seen as a top dog. Is our country really at the top, or is that just a common misconception?
My vision for America is to make America a better place for future generations to come. Now I ask all of you this question, do we have to worry about America’s future? I believe we do for many reasons, corruption, the fact that we have no respect for other countries, the media, bullying, anti patriotism, and cheaters. Once we begin to change these things, America can return to being the greatest country on Earth.
Being an American is something that our national traditions have taught us is something to be proud of, because compared to the rest of the world we are portrayed as the ideal country on this planet. Hundreds of thousands of people believe that coming to United States in search of a better life is the way to go for them and their families, although this might be true, nobody ever thinks to consider where these individuals or families are immigrating from. The United States of America is not like any other nation in the world because the population of this country is composed of dozens of different ethnicities and cultures. When people move from place to place they not only take their possessions and family members, but they also take bits and pieces of their own cultures and bring it here with them. I am for the Mosaic view for the future of America because where we came from is extremely important, it’s nearly impossible to stop people from coming to America, and the lack of diversity when it comes to food.
In 2005, the three reports entitled Innovative America, Tapping America’s Potential, and Rising Above the Gathering Storm, argue that if the U.S. does not improve its science technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education the standard of living in the U.S. may decrease and threaten the economy and national security. The reasoning that the proponents use is that with more innovation and technological advancements, exports will increase and benefit the economy, but if there is no innovation this will harm the economy. The three reports, according to the Congressional Research Service, argue that in order to prevent these issues, we must close the academic achievement gaps in STEM, improve the quality of teachers, increase STEM labor supply, improve on international ranking assessments, produce more STEM degrees, and increase the number of H-1B visas issued. One of the most controversial subjects of the STEM movement is that companies are using H1-B visas to employ foreigners at cheaper rates rather than U.S. citizens. However, critics of the STEM movement argue that this is a strategic idea called “Brain Drain” where the U.S. is “draining” the most talented and skilled workers from other countries in order to gain an advantage on a global stage. In order for the U.S. to remain a leader in innovation and STEM education, the issue of H1-B visas needs to be addressed.
When I think politics, I think of the future. Where is the country going to be in 10 years? 100 year? And when I make decisions, I contemplate a pressing inquiry—which side of history am I on? The reality is that the world changes. America luckily morphed from a country focused on freedom for the individual into a country that attempts to do as much as it can for the greater good. And in this process of change, we are not merely saying goodbye to Columbus. We are saying good inclusive morning to heroes that America needs to be reminded of. So on this path to more complete social justice (the opposition is dying, literally; no matter how hard people fight for backwards causes, millennials and younger are going to be the majority of the US someday
America has always been viewed as the richest and freest nation in the world. America has grown from thirteen self-governed states, to a nation with a strong central government of power and wealth. The change in society has allowed the U.S. to grow into what it is today. Without the change in views and the responsibility of the citizens the economy would have never grown to be strong and wealth. The nation is effected by many different variables. One variable effects the other. The nation was started and has progressed to where it is today, but with rises and downfalls in all areas of life from education and small families to economics and large businesses.
This essay will examine the rise of “modern America”, there were economic, religious, and aspect of life changes took place and it was greatly changed the Americans society’s perceptions, specifically, the north and the south. The rise of “modern America” was greatly motivated immigrants to come to the United States for economic opportunity, industrialization in the North after the civil war created new businesses and job regulations, and the demand for social changes; all of these factors shaped America socially, politically, and economically.
The way the future is heading seems to be very clear but as before things may
My fellow gentlemen, I know that you are all anxious and concerned about our nation’s
