As Wagga Wagga is 147m above sea level, the altitude difference can affect the young athletes’ performance as it is initially less efficient due to them not being able to get a sufficient amount of oxygen to work the muscles throughout the body. The thinness of the air can increase chances of altitude sickness including headaches, dizziness and nausea. As the team only arrived 20 minutes before the scheduled start of play, they may not have had enough time to acclimatize and properly warm up before the game, causing players to become fatigue a lot quicker and possibly injuring themselves. There is less air resistance due to the air being thinner, allowing the ball to move faster and further through the air, increasing chances of direct injuries
