Even the gastric band surgery procedure was extremly popular several years ago, as it stands now, many sureornis no longeer recommoned this type of surgery due to the long-term complications that are associated with it, as well as the emergence of safer and more effective procedures. What they found was that the pauitents in the gastric bypass group, loss a singinantly greater percetage of excess weight (69%) compared to the band pateints who lost 46% of their excess weight over the ten year span.
