Critics? Who Needs Em? However, Hillary's strategies aren't her only problem. She has been plagued with multiple stigmas, most critics favorite complaints are that she's a "flip-flopper", a liar, and that she plays the female card too often. She can be seen as a flip-flopper because of her statements in the past are the complete opposite of her current positions. Now I'm all for changing your opinions as time goes on, but there seems to be a current trend where she switches her positions when it benefits her the most in the polls. Let's take gay marriage as an example. She has always been supportive of gay marriage being legalized but adds seemingly homophobic comments afterwards. Like in January 2000 when she stated,"..and I think a marriage …show more content…
And it seems that Hillary has gained another piece that she has to scrape off with the e-mail debacle. If you've been living under a rock here's a brief summary of the dilemma. When Hillary was still Secretary of State she was told to use only a government server when dealing with emails for work, which can possibly contain highly classified information. So she decided to use a private email server instead. When she was found out she was asked to hand over the e-mails to be placed under investigation, she handed over about 30,000 emails while she also deleted 31,000 other emails due to them being personal. After being investigated by the FBI she wasn't charged with anything, but was deemed "extremely careless" by the FBI director. 22 emails were said to hold classified information, and now some experts say that there's a high possibility of her server being hacked. Now was she being just careless or was there a more sinister underbelly. Some people find it suspicious that over half of her emails were deemed that personal that they had to delete them before they could be investigated. Could she be hiding something that we don't know about? Hillary's main defense is that she never broke a specific law, and that other Secretaries have done the same thing. She has also said that she merely used the server out of convenience and that she regrets
Hilary Clinton has been called many slanderous things: controversial, a cheater, and a corrupt emailer . However, American voters should take into consideration her potential as a grandiloquent leader. Hilary Clinton has several years of political experience due to her being the first lady during her husband’s 1992 presidential run . In addition to this, she has served as the United States’ Secretary of State from 2009-2013 , Arkansas First Lady , and as the United States Senator for New York from 2001 to 2009 . Her political influence can be compared to numerous female political figures such as Madeleine Albright , the first woman to be appointed as the United States Secretary of State or even “the Iron Lady”, Margaret Thatcher, who was Britain’s
I will list two mistakes throughout her career. Her first and biggest mistake was with the Benghazi incident. Benghazi may go down as the biggest stain on Hillary Clinton’s reputation. Whether or not Clinton made any mistakes, she will be forced to do damage control over the issue for the rest of her life because of her role as Secretary of State during the attack in September of 2012. The extent of Clinton’s role in handling Benghazi is still largely unknown by the general public. The uncertainty of the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and three other American diplomats has done little to stop the criticism. Clinton spoke at a Congressional testimony in January of 2013 and took full responsibility for the official response to the Benghazi attacks. She asserted that there had been no conversations regarding the safety of the consulate prior to the attacks. An evaluation released by the U.S House of Representatives in April of 2013 served as a blow to her testimony. The report stated that reduced security levels in Benghazi were approved by the State Department and Hillary Clinton prior to the attacks (Black
There has been a lot of tension towards her email scandal, and what she is hiding. There have been many controversial arguments and discussions over the subject. However, the fact of the matter is that Clinton’s emails were hacked and leaked by foreign intelligence and no one knows for sure what all she is hiding. After the hacking of her “private” server, investigators found that the evidence had been tampered with. Is this someone we can trust to represent our nation? Fox News said, a Navy vet asked Hillary, himself, “how can we trust you as our president”? It truly is a shame that someone this untrustworthy is in the elections (http://insider.foxnews.com)
Later, on the subject of immigration she accuses Republicans of wanting “to put immigrants, who work hard and pay taxes, at risk of deportation.” While in actuality tax paying immigrants are probably fairly low on the list of Republican concerns. Hillary then fallaciously talked on the topic of abortion. Hillary sides with pro choice and makes the statement, “They shame and blame women, rather than respect our right to make our own reproductive health decisions.” The argument of “shaming and blaming” women does not correctly align with the views of pro-life supporters.
Gay marriage has been an issue for a very long time and since some states are legalizing it, many worry that it would soon be added as an amendment. The topic of gay marriage brings up religious, legal, and many other issues. In "What's wrong with Gay Marriage?" by Katha Pollitt, the author supports gay marriage and wants it legalized. She states that there is no problem with gay marriage and it's all a matter of separating the church and state. But in “Gay ‘Marriage’: Societal Suicide,” by Charles Colson, the author opposes the idea of gay marriage and states that it will destroy society. Marriage is intended to unite a man and a woman together to bring children into the world, but due to the same-sex marriage,
Between 2009 and 2013 she sent 62,320 emails. Over half of these emails contained information that was work-related. This equates to 21.5 work-related emails per day (Keneally). Although most of these emails contain little information of importance, 65 are being withheld by the government because they include classified information (Atlantic). While this may seem like a trivial fact, it is quite the opposite. In fact, Hillary’s actions could potentially break four federal laws. The first is the Federal Records Act, which requires agencies to keep their official communications, including work-related emails. Knowingly deleting emails, the same way Hillary did, can result in a fine or one year in prison. The second law is the Freedom of Information Act, which ensures public access to agency records and information. This information is supposed to be presented in a timely manner. However, Mrs. Clinton only presented 55,000 pages of her emails that she declared “relevant”. Of course, if she had something to hide in those emails, she would not have made those public. How then do we trust that she was honest in the bring forth of these documents? The third law are the regulations regarding the National Archives. These regulations require information to be readily found when they are needed (NPR). When Hillary was first questioned about her private server, she declared that there were no classified emails
Secretary Clinton has extensive political experience including being an lawyer, U.S. senate, secretary of state, first lady and now a candidate for the presidential election. She is the first women in the history of the United States to run for president. Clinton, being women has experienced many derogatory and denigrate outbursts from the citizens of the United States especially from Trump’s supporters. She was called a “Bigot” by Trump several times during a rally in Jackson, Mississippi and he told his supporters that she “is a bigot who sees people of color only as votes, not as human beings worthy of a better future” (qtb Diamond, schleifer CNN). In addition, there is an anti-clinton merchandise that is called a Hillary nutcracker and in general Clinton is faced with “sexist language and images of a sort that male politicians don’t have to contend with. ”
Madame Clinton was question about her part on Benghazi, and her emails. She was careless, but nothing was sent classified in order for her to be further questioned or to be taken in. The FBI director James Comey stated “ Hillary Clintons emails were not properly marked Classified, but a small number of emails bore the markings of possibly being classified” thus making them open it even more, but they came to the conclusion of she being careless, but she didn't do anything severe. I understand why so many people in the States may or may not like Madame Clinton, but we have to understand no one is perfect, and in the political world things can and will get tough, you just need to know how to act in those
Years from now, history will record Hillary as one of the most short sighted, incompetent politicians who constructed, perhaps one of the most monumental blunders in US Political History, when she gave rise to "The Deplorables."
Hillary Clinton is considering the long game when it comes to the road to the White House and becoming the president. As of lately, she has been addressing the candidates running for republican nomination. She is criticizing them about their policies. If this were later in the campaign and she had won the democratic nomination, this wouldn't be looked at twice. However, she hasn't won it and in fact has at least two other individuals vying for the democratic nomination. The actions or strategies are as if she isn't worried about Bernie Sanders or the others and has already won the nomination.
Hillary Rodham Clinton has been involved in politics from the time she attended Maine East High School to now. She has served as president of the Wellesley Young Republicans, president of the Wellesley College Government Association, served on the editorial board of the Yale Review of Law and Social Action, the first lady of Arkansas, the first lady of the United States, Senator of New York, United States Secretary of State, and now she is running for the 2016 presidency. When Hillary was decisively elected to the U.S. Senate, “it was the first time ever that a woman was elected Senator of New York, and the first time ever that a First Lady went on to hold public office (Ohebsion).”
Hillary Clinton used her personal email account from her home computer to conduct government business when she was in office as the secretary of state instead of her government issued email account where the CIA would have her vetted emails before pressing send to make sure classified information was sent accordingly, Authorities are stating that Mrs. Clinton was in violation of National Security and counterintelligence information that could provide anyone looking to find confidential information and use it against the United States. None of Mrs. Clinton team bother to preserve her emails on the department servers during her four year tenure as Secretary of state. However Hillary has given orders to her team to turn over her email server and
Despite what many people may think, Hillary’s life hasn’t been easy. Sure she didn’t face any hard struggling with her family, but that doesn’t make her life perfect. In her marriage, she was tested with deciding on whether she was going to stay or leave. In 1998, her husband Bill Clinton was in a huge sex scandal that eventually lead to his impeachment. It is unknown what happened but a woman by the name of Monica Lewinsky had made an allegation that she had sexual relations with our President. Many woman would never stay married to a man who possible cheated on them, but Hillary had the strength to stand by her husband side. She stood as his rock during his impeachment and stood by his side. This is one of Hillary’s biggest battles because
The proposed legalization of same-sex marriage is one of the most significant issues in contemporary American family law. As a heavily campaigned development currently discussed in law assessment; these extremely confrontational and debatable political questions are facing present day American courts. If same-sex marriage is legalized, its affect on the parents, children, same sex couples, families, and the social and political world will be astronomical. The arguments surrounding the issue though confrontational nonetheless are easily seen from a wide array of perspectives. One of the perspectives states that marriage is a promise to a spouse to stay loyal and faithful in all
Sam Schulman’s “The Worst Thing About Gay Marriage” presents an interesting argument against gay marriage that hinges upon maintaining a traditional form of marriage. He actually claims that gay marriage is “unnecessary”(381). According to Schulman, there are 4 primary effects of marriage within his definition he calls the kinship system. First, marriage protects and controls a woman’s sexuality. Second, the possible pairings are limited by the kinship system to avoid incest or other taboos. Third, marriage creates a situation where licit sex can occur. Fourth, it places a clear divide between childhood innocence and adult, married, life. All of which is in addition to maintaining a standard family hierarchy, in which a marriage almost
