A good leader shows others the proper way to act in everyday life. Good leaders help others with their challenges but they also acknowledge that they themselves have challenges in everyday life. A good leader is there to support and aid anyone at anytime. Even if that means getting up early to help before a long day or staying after a hard day and provide guidance those who need it a true leader will do it. Leaders put in the extra work to pick up the slack within the group if it is necessary. Leaders change groups into families. You can not be a leader over others if you first can not lead yourself in the proper way. The only thing different from leading yourself over leading others is that the actions you make while leading yourself only affect you, when you lead others, your actions affect you and others. He was born on February 22, 1732, in Virginia. He was the eldest of six (Biography.com). When he was eleven, his father died, which left him and his Mother to take care of their family farm (History.com).

George Washington is the greatest president because he was a natural leader. He led by example and not by excuses. He was chosen by the people to lead them into the great nation that was born that day from his presidency. George Washington was the first person to be elected president of the United States. He knew that the first president would have to set the example for the future presidents that had yet to come. George Washington was not only a present but also a soldier and a general. George Washington knew how to lead men to victory and greatness. He was a noble and humble man of the people. George Washington knew and did what was best for the people of the United States.

I consider George Washington as a leader for so many reasons. He is an inspiration to me. Not only was George Washington great at what he did, he was an outstanding person. Although he is credited for winning few battles against the British, he had a powerful ability to keep the struggling colonial army unified and motivated in the war effort despite the lack of military training of the enlisted men, the harsh weather conditions, and lack of food and supplies.
