Art became well known back in the pre-historic era when cavemen painted pictures on the walls. But became really popular during the Renaissances when painters and sculptors took light. The Renaissances was a great time for art in Italy when land was being explored and people trying to get back to their ancient Greek and Roman roots. Writers, Scholars, and Artist alike were reawakened with inspiration from Ancient Greek and Roman art. The origin of the Renaissance was traced back to the late 13th , early 14th century known as the "Proto-Renaissance". Writers wanted to revive the language while artist wanted to revive the art. A Florentine artist named Giotto was famous for painting a realistic form of the human body. But later in the 14th century the "Proto-Renaissance" was raged with plague and war so it would not of emerge until the start of the 15th …show more content…

To the extent of our knowledge of their art work, we found only a few that depicted paintings , pots, or sketches by their pattern or shape. The objects were preserved for thousands of years.
Their was major arrange of art in The Slavery Era. The most of famous work of art is quilts kneaded to look like scenes from the bible and historic events made by Harriet Powers. Her work was preserved in the Smithsonian and Boston's Museum of Fine Arts. The first literature written by African-American women appeared around 1859 as a part of a general renaissance of black literature. A lot of the writing talks about their daily lives.
When it came between the times of the 1950-1960 not very black artist were being taken seriously as artists. But they play an important role in The Black Arts movement which was a artistic side of The Black Power movement. With Poetry being their center point of creativity and expression.
