God is our almighty and all powerful creator. The one that made us from dust and us inside of the wombs of our mothers. Even through our faults, he still loves us. He is the embodiment of everything that is pure and good in this world. Through his son Jesus Christ, he has forgiven us of our transgressions. He is the greatest thing in this world and there is nothing we could ever do to be anything more than reflections of His glory. He is the infinite God that created the universe. The one that spoke it into existence. No matter how much we try to understand His reasons and his plans, we can’t because we are limited and He is without limit. God is identified as the Creator, the Savior, and the means by which we are able to communicate with him. We believe that God is Trinitarian. By that I mean that God is three being in one. The Father by which all things are and will be. The Son that died on the cross to save us from our sins. The Holy Spirit, by which God is always with us. The Holy Spirit is the way that God is with us in ministry. We are performing ministry by His greatness because he is with us. He is everything, and sometimes we forget that. He is everywhere, He is in creation and He is among us. Just like a child doesn’t have the same knowledge that a father has, neither do we have the same knowledge as God does. In God 's story, I am a part of creation, because I am created in the image of God, to be like him. I am also at the same time, flawed and I make mistakes,
The Christian worldview believes in trinity, which means God is a trinity of persons. That is God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit are one. This was evident during creation. In Genesis 1:26 states “then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on
He the perfect expression of love, honesty, truth, peace and wisdom. God is kind, forgiving, and infinite in his existence, holy, welcoming and the ultimate power in the universe itself. Gracious and righteous is the Lord who is greatly embodied of compassion (Psalm 116:5,
God is our creator, He loves and protect us, He wants us to be safe and happy.
God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; I believe God is the creator, ruler, and redeemer. (Genesis 1:1 , Revelation 4:11) Jesus Christ is the Son of God.( John 1:14) Jesus became a man and was conceived by the Holy Spirit, lived a sinless life, and willingly gave himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all
God the Son is revealed in the Christian Scriptures. God the Spirit is revealed in the Church. The Trinitarian doctrine states that there are three co-eternal, equal persons in God, which is the notion of unity within community. The Trinitarian doctrine was further developed and defined at the councils of Nicaea in 325 CE and Constantinople in 381 CE. God was always trinity, however gradually this reality became known through revelation. Jesus calls God and speaks of the spirit which indicates a plurality in God. The difficulty is reconciling the concept of monotheism with the notion of God existing as three persons. The divine essence is common to all three, however the three persons have attributes or properties which distinguished them eg Fatherhood, sonship and sanctifying power. Once essence means that the actions (creation, redemption, sanctification) are attributable to all. Mutual relations is the concept that the terms Father and Son are not titles but expressions of a relationship and thus all three persons are co-equal
Who is God? God is the creator of all according to the Christian worldview. As Christians we believe that God is the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Diffey, 2015, Ch. 3) We trust that God be existent in three persons. After reading the Genesis chapters, I understood that God
“God is the sole deity worshipped in the monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam” (García, 2015). According to the Christian worldview, God is one being who exists eternally as three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus Christ, who is fully man and fully God), and the Holy Spirit (Merrick 2014). God is the sovereign creator of all that there is. “Because God created and sustains all things, He alone is worthy of worship and praise” (Scripture and biblical passage support the history of the creation of the universe, in accordance to the Christian worldview. “In the beginning God created the Heavens and the earth” and all living things, including humans (Genesis 1:1). Mankind is His highest creation perfected in Him (“Lecture 2,” 2015). We as humans were made in the image of God, so that we may bear the attributes He has. God is indescribable, but at the same time
The Christian faith is centered around God almighty, a holy godhead. “The doctrine of the Trinity affirms that the only true God eternally exists as three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—one in essence, united in glory, and distinct in relations” (Horrell, 2014, para.1). God represents the Father, Jesus represents the Son, which was God in the flesh and the Holy Spirit, which is given to those that believe in him. “We are invited to know this God through Christ and to be transformed by the renewing of our minds through the Word and by the Spirit” (Horrell, 2014, para.5). There are many profound characteristics of God; He is the great I Am, holy, just, faithful, good, merciful, gracious and the source of all blessings. He is omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, sovereign, immutable, wrathful and wise. His strength and power is unlike anything else. He existed
God is our creator; He came before us and created the universe as we know it. “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth”
This was the question that popped up in my head after reading the first chapter of The Orthodox Way, God as Mystery. More ironically, before they answered my question did they tell me that Jesus Christ is God and Holy Spirit is God as well. Usually multi-identities are not an issue for me or for anyone, but this time is a little, or a lot, different when it comes to God. In the chapter, God as Trinity, “The Christian God is not just a unit but a union, not just unity but a community… He is Trinity: three equal persons, each one dwelling in the other two by virtue of an unceasing movement of mutual love” said Ware (P. 27). Ono thing that needs to be confirmed first is that there is only One God, and God is the one essence embracing three persons. Secondly, in the case of Trinity a person is not just an individual, as opposed to that three human persons always “retain their own will and own energy no matter how closely they co-operate together” (P. 30). This indicates the property of “distinction but never separation” within the three persons; they are distinct as in differentiation and they are never separate because of the relationship formed by the shared one will and one energy. As a consequence, we surely have to turn to the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit if we want to know God holistically, especially the Oneness of God (Jones,
God is infinite, everlasting, and never-changing. God set the laws of the land therefore I must abide by what is determined by God as right and wrong. God has revealed this truth through his creation and revelation. God is absolute.
God is the creator of the heavens and the earth. He created the expanse of the sky down to the tiniest cell. He created man distinct from the rest of His creation. God created man in his own image and likeness and gave him dominion over the rest of His creation. The Bible affirms this in Genesis 1:26, “Then God said, ‘Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.’” Humans were created in God’s image, yet after the fall occurred, this image was severely distorted. The image of God in us will be completely restored when Jesus comes again for His church. “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is.” Throughout church history, theologians have debated what being
• God is the most high God, all-powerful, all-knowing, the creator, full of unfailing love and truth, God is the only “true” God. He is the light.
Vast, all-knowing, creator, so much more. How do you define your God? The Father is so much more than human kind can grasp, therefor, being nearly impossible to fully define without using opinion and imagination. The knowledge of God is the largest piece of shared information among humans throughout time and space. I will explore my personal thoughts of God, humanity and Jesus, as well as reflect on Christian worldview.
Throughout the history of mankind, there have been many great men who have left an impact on today’s world. Some of these men may have changed a certain system was run or established a better community for other people. While doing these things is certainly commendable, there is one man who stands above the rest. This man is unique in every way from His conception to His death. In addition, this man made astonishing claims and performed many great miracles. While there were many that embraced this man, there were many that called him foolish and a sinner. This man was Jesus Christ. Through the use of Old Testament prophets, various New Testament testimonies, and certain divine attributes, it is proven that Jesus Christ is unique in that He and God are one.
