Your honor, ladies and gentlemen of the jury, last night, Abigail Williams accused Goody Proctor of an attempted murder by witchcraft. The charge included a needle in a witch poppet and one in Abigail’s abdominal. Today, I will prove Goody Proctor’s innocence of this malignant and malicious charge of attempted murder. First of all, it is clear that the poppet Mr.Cheever discovered did not belong to Goody Proctor. Mary Warren claimed that she made the poppet in the court and Susanna Walcott saw her sew it ( Miller 81). This proves that Goody Proctor never made that poppet. Therefore, it is not evidence in support of the charge against her. Goody Proctor never had any contact with the poppet until Mary gave it to her when she returned home
Goody Proctor is a gossiping liar” (L.149-151 P.144) “She is blackening my name in the village! She is telling lies about me! ...” (L.460-463
The Great Debate is about the weather or not to keep The Constitution. Which the Anti-Federalists didn’t want around anymore. But The Federalists had believed that somebody had to have some type of power to keep all states in control at once. But it had to be ratified by at least 9/13 states to become a legal. But each side had their own opinions on how the states should be handled.
Because of Abigail's twisted plot of sticking a needle in herself to signify Elizabeth's "familiar spirit" pushing it in, and Cheever finding a poppet in the Proctor's house, Elizabeth is charged with murder. Proctor realises what Abigail is trying to do, and feels remorse, as he is partly at fault for his relationship with Abigail. "I'll not give my wife to vengeance."
The Crucible was created to described what really happened in these witch trials, and the effects it had on the Colony itself. There was more than 50 men and women accused of witchcraft but less than 20 were hung. The town embraced their trials as a template for their envy of hate.
eventually even Proctor himself. Through the tragic death of innocent, Miller gives the reader a
By methods of denying hypocrites, redeeming his relationship with his wife, and surrendering his life to save others, Proctor has indeed proven himself to be an admirable character. Despite the dirty deeds of his teenage mistress Abigail, Proctor was able to successfully overcome his biggest fears and stressors in order to put an end to the Salem Witch trials. If Proctor’s legacy is remembered and followed, then similar experiences in history to come will surely have a much better than if people are to follow the simple minded lead of the citizens of Salem,
A huge contributor to the big offense of day was Mr. reliable tight end Greg Olsen who had eight catches for a career-high 134 yards and two touchdowns! He took the Saints defense to school specifically cornerback Brandon Browner running right past him for a 52 yard chunk play that sparked the offense! The Saints left him wide open on many plays all I can say is thank you much appreciated! I continued to say this he is one of the best tight ends in the league;he is the veteran presence this offense needs with all the young players and Sunday his play seemed to rub off on the other receivers and opening up other big plays for the offense great execution all around and once again thank you to the Chicago Bears for giving us Greg Olsen!
John Proctor’s determination to reveal the corruption of the court and to clear the innocents’ names is courageous. While trying to prove his guiltless wife, Proctor states in the court, “But it is a whore’s vengeance, and you must see it; I
Elizabeth Proctor being accused of witchery by Abigail Williams has garnered the attention of all of Salem. If she is proven guilty, she will be sent to prison for eternity. Goody Proctor is known in Salem as a good Puritan with Christian values, but this accusation and her possible hanging could ruin it all. Abigail Williams, on the other hand, has gained power in the courthouse and has accused others. However, many rumors circulate the village saying that Ms. Williams is not the good Christian girl that she has recently been made out to be. I am here to deny or confirm these rumors for good and find out the answers from Ms. Williams by investigating and interviewing her.
I am terribly sorry I have not written for so long. Ever since I were a midwife for Goody Proctor, I been so busy. I write in great fear. I can only pray to God Almighty that no one will read these words. If they do, we will be in great danger. Moving on, I am almost sure, Abby told Tituba to cook up a charm to kill Goody Proctor. Her restless heart still cling to Mr. Proctor and I have feeling that those two have done more than just talk. Why else would Abby need a Barbados woman and a bunch of other girls in the forest in the dead of night? I only came to know from hearing the other girls as I was running errands this morning. I could not believe it! Surely Abigail was no so mad! To be caught in the act of witchery would only lead her and the other girls to the rope! So I went to the woods to see if it were
Later that night, at dinner, Abby starts screaming saying that she has been stabbed. Abby says that it is Goody Proctor in spirit. They have a warrant for Goody Proctors arrest and go to the Proctor’s household. They search the Proctor’s house and find the poppet Mary made, after they Proctors have said they have no dolls in their household. Because of this scenario, Goody Proctor was thought to be a witch and sentenced to be hung unless she confesses.
On Wednesday August 31st 2016 in North Muskegon Michigan, Brittany Miller and six year old son Granderson went shopping at a local grocery store. As they made their way up and down each individual isle Granderson suddenly began making high pitched screeching sounds. Just as some other autistic individuals, Granderson is more sensitive to sound. Therefore as a coping mechanism, Granderson often will imitate the sound of a fire alarm to help him deal with the overwhelming sounds and noise. Miller explains shortly after her son began to display this behavior it was only a few brief moments afterward, that she turned around to find a note that was placed upon her bag that read: “You need to buy that kid a muzzle!!”. His mother expresses that she
Every state should’ve been like Longtown in the America 200 years ago because Longtown was a free place for everyone no matter their color. Longtown needs to be taken care of the most because it’s the first town where race and color didn't matter. An article published by Washington Post titled “Ohio town holds rare history:Races mix freely for nearly 200 years” and a youtube video called “Vanishing Act” both explains how a town in Ohio was one of the first places to be free of discrimination. According to Washington Post, a descendant of James Clemens who brought the land for Longtown named Connor Keisser stated that in his childhood memories he used to play with cousins that had different skin colors. Longtown was the first place where there

That caring respect is enlivened into affectionate persistence when Goody Proctor is charged of witchcraft. Proctor makes a promise: "I will bring you home. I will bring you home soon" (Miller 77). When Proctor finds out that Abigail Williams accused Elizabeth, he knows that he has kept the secret of the affair too long. His love for his wife makes John Proctor frantic to persuade his maid Mary Warren to go to court and explain that Abigail Williams and the other accusers are lying. John threatens "[...] I will bring your guts into your mouth but goodness will not die for me" (Miller 80). However in court, Mary Warren gives in to Abigail’s constant stare. John Proctor is arrested as a worshipper of the Devil. John tries to use his last opportunity to speak to his wife before he is hanged to express his love for her. "You are a marvel, Elizabeth" (Miller 134), Proctor declares before he is taken to be
