Thanks for responding to my email. I am not sure if you are aware of the entire situation but when my son registered for that course he left for Toronto. My son loved your school and did not want to leave but had no place to reside as his guardian at the time was moving. I tried to find another place for him to stay so he could complete school but I was not able to afford the accommodation. The goal attending school in the US was earning a scholarship for college. Devonte knew my income alone would not be enough. It took sacrifice on my part as well as his moving to new country and so I want you to be aware that this is not whimsical decision. Anyway, Devonte came back to Toronto that summer 2013 and did his Biology course because he had failed a science course plus doing the History online course. We met with Lindsay to set that up and she is aware that his objective was to doing the right courses that will help him obtain a scholarship for college. Anyway, while home in Toronto, we were contacted of an opportunity of going to a high school in Mount Clemens area that Fall 2013 as he wanted to finish school in States.. I was skeptic about that school as the neighborhood was not the best but Devonte was determined to complete school and graduate. His sister decided that he would go with him. However, things got ugly Spring 2014 and my son a international student was impacted in the politics of admin and a staff. One person got fired and it would appeared that the
I am an active member of my school and community. At school I feel that i've gained the respect of my peers being elected as Student Council representative for the past four years. I have also been elected the treasurer of the choir, and secretary of the band. I am part of the Ross Middle School bucket drumming group and have been casted as part of the school theatre’s annual play. After school on Wednesdays I assist Ms. Rullman in helping students with homework and enhancing study methods. I am currently participating in science olympiad and have in the past. I am also an anchor on the popular Good Morning Ross Middle School weekly news show. In addition, I have been a part of National Junior Honor Society which takes part in service projects
Nowadays, teenagers and young adults are graduating high school and college and are unable to find jobs. A lot of them lack the basic skills needed to survive during adulthood. Institutions exist mainly to educate people on what they need to maintain a somewhat decent lifestyle. Students have been forced to take classes on a variety of subjects throughout high school, most of which have nothing to do with what they need to prepare them for life after education. Even in college, a majority of students do not know what career field they would like to enter, so when they graduate it is hard for them to get a job anywhere. Institutions are not arming students with the proper information needed to excel after education. So, new classes should be created and required for students to pass before graduating. They will be based on basic skills such as money management, customer service skills, and credit understanding.
I noticed you sent an announcement out about seeing our grade as of Friday in the handout section, but when I try and click on that section there is no link for it. Also, from what I can recall, on the quizzes, and Rocketmix I am not doing well in your class and would like any and all suggestions you have for me. I'm feeling upset with myself as I've been doing well in all of my classes since attending the CSUDH I'm on track to graduate Summa Cum Laude. I have had many struggles in the past with school and getting my first Associates degree and I believe being a first generation college student did not help matter but now 10 years have past since my first degree and I've learned to be a better college student since then and going into

From 1978 to 2013, college tuition costs rose by 1,120 % in America. College costs are the highest in history and more students are going to college than ever before. Most people push for free tuition for all community colleges and universities; however that is not a viable request Someone is going to have to foot the bill in the end. Multiple nations around the globe are also having difficulty finding a functioning price tag for a college degree.
Hello everyone from the Jeanne E. Shader Endowed Scholarship foundation I just wanted to say thank you so much for investing in my education this means so much me because I am putting myself through school and it is a lot harder than I imagined and I never thought that I would have too. During my senior year of high school my dad left and took a lot of furniture from the house and all the money in the shared bank account that he and my mother shared. A few months after all this happened my mom started to get sick every night to the point I couldn’t sleep because I was so worried about her one night it was storming really bad and my mom walked in my room and asked me to take her to the hospital I was terrified because my mom avoids the doctors usually so I knew something had to be wrong it was also a day after
As a member of Virginia Commonwealth University’s (VCU) Leaders Engaging in Advance Discoveries (LEAD), were are expected to complete eighty hours of service over the course of two academic school years. Each semester VCU LEAD students are required to complete twenty hours of service, ten-community engagement hours and ten leadership hours. I believe that having a requirement of participation hours pushes students to get involved on VCU’s campus and the greater Richmond area, introduces time management, as well as influences them to reflect on their new found experiences.
The Morehead State University Honors Program opens the door to many great opportunities which include, but are not limited to, a semester-long internship with a legislator in Frankfort, a summer research program for aspiring physicians and dentists, and a year-long volunteering experience working with children in an after school program. Although all of these would allow me to develop many new skills, along with relationships across our great commonwealth, I feel as if the summer research program for aspiring physicians and dentists would be the best fit for me. As an aspiring physician, I believe that this experience would allow me to challenge myself with new concepts that will be critical to my success in medical school, as well as allowing me to better my research skills. This program would assist me unbelievably as I transition into my future.
I submitted the graduate application to the one stop department on Friday. The department informed me that it should take up to 3 to 5 business days to be processed.
Have you ever felt the pain knowing you and the people beside you might not be there tomorrow? Have you ever known the feeling of having your family oceans away? Although I have never felt anything close to that, I have empathy for those who have. I feel others should realize all of the Veteran’s pain, and their sacrifice, just for us! For our Freedom! Freedom of Education, of Speech, of Choice and many more. I say “ Thank you.” to the Veterans. Yet, it’s not just the Veterans that make sacrifices.
There are many students who are worthy of this scholarship; however, throughout my high school career, I have refined my work ethic which has allowed me to sit a top of Norview High School’s 2017 graduating class. Therefore, while studying chemical engineering, I will carry over my determination for learning so that I better prepare myself for a career as an engineer. Making a positive impact in the world is one of my life goals. Therefore, attending college will allow me to study chemical engineering and apply my knowledge and skills to solve problems within the world. Receiving this scholarship would allow me to focus more on my studies and these problems rather than on college debt. Since chemistry is a passion of mine, I aim to learn as
It is my sincere hope that you will consider Allison for this award as I can think of no one more deserving. I believe that she has a natural desire to do well in school because of her own enthusiasm and interest and not because of the pressures or influences of others. Her demonstrated love of learning and level of commitment to her studies are qualities that are sure to complement her as she moves into college and beyond. Allison is a very independent, determined, and self-motivated young lady who aspires, not necessarily to do great things, but to do small things
I have selected Why College should be free in the United States as the topic of my speech. I will start off by grasping the audience’s attention with a personal story. I am sure that at the beginning of my presentation, many will think this whole concept is insane. This is why my first point will be explaining how college loans have become a financial burden to society and constitute $1.3 trillion dollars of the nation’s total debt. (Trade Schools, Colleges and Universities, n.d.) Once I point out the problem, I will move on to providing examples and financial statistics of countries that actually provide free college education, like Sweden for example. This should make my audience start feeling like we can accomplish it and that perhaps fighting
From elementary school career days to college visits in high school, the importance of continuing our education is drilled into our heads from day one. What the adults who so graciously give up their time to speak at career day fail to mention is enormous cost of college. So, what is a parent to do, dash their child’s dream of becoming a doctor, or find a way to make it happen? We all know a college education comes with a high price tag, but with all the advantages like high income potential and job stability, the investment is well worth it. With time and effort a college education does not automatically come with tremendous debt.
Imagine that every high school senior in the United States was tested and then upon graduation assigned to a career based off of their score. Wouldn’t that be horrible? The world would be filled with people who hate their jobs. This is just a quick example of how a single test doesn’t define our future or who we are. Standardized tests like the SAT and ACT are extremely useful for college admissions officers but the tests are way too emphasized in the college process; this is why the exam makers should improve the exams so that the emphasis put on these exams matches the results it gives back.
