Mr. Gotcher recently moved to another Ambitions home due to community concerns. This elevated Mr. Gotcher’s stress and anxiety because he feared being homeless despite being told that DDA was working to find him another home. It should be noted that Mr. Gotcher at no fault for this move. It was reported that a housemate disclosed to a new neighbor that the clients living at the home were Community Protection clients.
Mr. Gotcher also experienced a major loss in his family since the last reporting period, his

Mr. Gotcher requested Starbucks as a location to have alone time, but after further review, it was determined that the number of people at Starbucks at any given time, made it difficult to approve this reduction. Bryant has requested going to a “pawn shop”, and “game store”, as other areas he would like to patron alone as a reduction.

Mr. Gotcher’s current level of supervision by Ambitions is sufficient at this time.
Sex Offender Specific Treatment progress:
Mr. Gotcher is not in denial about past sex offenses as well as the incidents of frottage while in prison and while in the community. It is clear that Mr. Gotcher has sexual interests and desires and normalizing these desires has been emphasized. The challenge has been working through his belief that his disability disqualifies him from this natural instinct. Role playing boundaries and other social skills have been utilized throughout Mr. Gotcher’s treatment to date, and will continue as he navigates how to manage his sexual desires and avoid attaching deviant ways to gain sexual gratification.
Psycho-education about sex, consent, boundaries, good and bad touching, victim empathy, selfishness, and has been the focus since the last reporting period. Mr. Gotcher has been working in the Foot Prints workbook and he has been given assignments to monitor his thoughts and impulses when he is at home and while he is in the community. To

Of all the violent crimes in America, sexual assault has become one of the fastest growing misconduct under this category. Of those found guilty of sexual offenses, 25% of them were juveniles. Of these offenses that occurred within adult offenders, 50% of them announced that their first offense happened during their pubescent stage (Martin, 2009). To get a hold of the increasing number of juvenile sex offenders, they are many opinion related solutions, other routes like treatment methods, and of course answers within legislation that could possibly reduce or prevent this issue directly. There are some concerns that have been brought to attention with regards to the psychological and behavioral modification treatments that is administered
Characteristics of a pedophile’s typical victim consist of usually one sex, male or female; and typically under the age of puberty. “Females were [sic] the most commonly abused . . .” sexes (Hall, 2007, p. 461). There are more reports of female victims than male victims with the typical offenses. Males, however, are at a higher risk with “forced sodomy” (Hall, 2007, p. 461). At young, impressionable, and instable ages these youth are set with inappropriate views of what love is and what their bodies were made for. Younger victims are much easier to manipulate than adults. “The gender of the child also plays an integral part in the selection” female youth, in particular, are very impressionable and for an older male figure to take notice
Being that it is the year 2017, society has realized that who they are is no longer as black and white as it once was. Society has become increasingly complex in the way a person is viewed by others and viewed by themselves. Two stories that opened my eyes, yet again, to the injustices around the world are We Need New Names by NoViolet Bulawayo and, “The Management of Grief” by Bharati Mukherjee. While each story portrays traditions of two distinct cultures, both deal with the injustices of being an immigrant, and not knowing where you belong. Moreover, both characters are shown dealing with the complexities of one’s identity.
To me the writer is trying to say, he finds it hard to put into words the grief he feels. In his writing he is trying to explain the feeling by using explicit words. Like he says coarsest clothing that are against the cold that to me shows he is really hurt. He is sad about the way he feels but this is the worst way to grieve, some people grieve in different ways. The bad part about grief is there is no time limit on how long it will last. I still grieve over the loss of my family member’s every day. My weekend I lost a great uncle and the fact that he stayed upstairs to me makes it harder. Like Alfred said when he talks about narcotics sometimes you just want to numb the pain and feel nothing because it hurts so bad, but once that narcotic
I appreciated the video about the grief and care of grief due to I did not have any experience since I have memory. However, recently, my best friend has diagnosed thyroid cancer. Both of us still suffer for the grief. I try to be positive so I can support her. I try to hide my sad emotion. The video taught us to take care of ourselves well, maintain your routines, do not let others rush you and talk about your loved one. It reminds us to communicate with others and share our feelings. Where there is a life, there is a hope. She still has a long way to go and I will be strong for her and go through with her.
In a large number of sexual offenders, the offenders only seek gratification vice dominance over the victim (Hanser et al, 2011). Exploitation is the tool used by the offender to obtain sexual gratification. For example, the offender, who molests his teenage stepdaughter, is more motivated by his sexual arousal vice having sex with a child (Hanser et al, 2011). The offender is acting on normal sexual arousal, however the teenagers is the readily accessible victim. If this offender was evaluated in a laboratory setting to measure his sexual arousal pattern, the counselors would realize that the offender is mostly attracted to adult women, followed in intensity by adolescent females. Conclusions would show the offender possesses the normal sexual arousal for a heterosexual male (Hanser et al, 2011). Therefore, the counselor would conclude that the principal problem for the offender is not sexual interest. The act of molestation on the teenage female occurred due to using poor judgement, difficulties in impulse control, poor self-management, problems in his personal relationships and other problems (Hanser et al, 2011). Conversely, an offender that is driven to commit sexual assaults to gratify his sexual arousal to children, coerce people to have sex, or just to expose certain parts of his body to strangers, has problems with
32). Psychopathis Sexuali, (1886) by Richard von Krafft-Ebing, was the first published text to discuss sexuality from a modern scientific perspective. Kinsey’s famous fundamental studies of human sexuality began in 1939 (p. 55). The study of sexuality is relatively new, so there are many concepts in the field left to be discovered and developed. There is a lack of sexual research because it is difficult to find a representative sample, lack of funding, and the social and political stigma. There is even less information available about paraphilias and sexual deviance. The majority of research around paraphilia relies on offenders because they are identifiable and there is a lack of reports available on non-offending paraphilic behaviour (Marshall & Marshall, 2015, p.
The client defines his problem of grief with a mild case of depression to be associated with his physical change and not being able to care for his self as he previously did. He also associates it with the loss of his mother and grandmother. I noticed the client’s chronic grief when I first started visiting him (two months ago). During my third visit with the client I could physically see that his grief was starting to take a toll on his body (also the disease has had an effect as well). His skin was yellow (jaundice), he looked like he lost some weight because he had no appetite, had trouble sleeping, he told me he had blood in his stool, and he told me he didn’t know how to cope with his mom being in the hospital while he was basically home
Since grown-up and adolescent sex guilty parties are assorted populaces with fluctuated levels of danger and needs, locales ought to have a continuum of treatment administrations accessible, running from a variety of choices in the group, to benefits in gathering homes and direct care offices, and at last incorporating treatment in secure restorative or private offices (see, e.g., Bengis, 1997; Berenson and Underwood, 2000; Hunter, Gilbertson, Vedros, and Morton, 2004; Marshall et al., 2006a; Schwartz, 2003). Remembering that mediations will probably diminish recidivism when coordinated to the level of danger postured by people, community–based sex wrongdoer treatment will probably be powerful for generally safe guilty parties; more serious
The authors share the historical moments of the art of grief therapy. Grief, understood in human terms, has existed as long as humanity itself, standing in the intersection of attachment and separation, and of love and loss. And for nearly as long the anguish and hope uniquely associated with the death of members of the community have found expression in art, from Paleolithic cave paintings to ritual chants, music and dances across cultures, and from religious art in innumerable spiritual traditions to secular poetry and prose. The authors intent in compiling this volume was to explore this conjunction in the contemporary context of grief therapy, where a lively acquaintance with expressive arts modalities can make a profound contribution.
I learned so very much this week on grief. I had heard of the five stages of grief, but never really knew what they were in detail. The first stage is denial. This feeling for which is unknown to the person going through the process, it is the start of the healing process. The second stage which is anger people will feel angry. There are lots of other emotions under the angry process of grieving. People just present themselves as anger. I really like when they said, “Anger”, is just another indication of the intensity of your love. Third is the Bargaining stage, this is when people will do anything and bargain to have the person spared. The fourth stage is depression this is when people move into the present. It was knowledgeable to know
One of the crimes receiving great attention and can be consider extremely disturbing is pedophilia and child molestations. In order to be diagnosed with pedophilic disorder, individuals must exhibit symptoms for at least 6 months according to the DSM-5. Therefore, child molester who committed sexual abused and sexual assaults against children sometime are not clinically diagnosed. They, nonetheless, remain dangerous and must be studied carefully. Several factors contribute to the development of these types of offender, including neurological and environmental dysfunction. Pedophiles and child molester may come from a low SES background, experienced violence in the family, and may have experienced sexual abused themselves as a child. These events
A universal theme that all human beings encounter that trigger a negative emotional and physical symptom is grief. However, different cultures experience bereavement in a variety of ways (Pomeroy & Garcia, 2009). From a priest’s standpoint, Hater (2017) shared how he learned how to cope with death when he spent time with his ill father. During his time by his father’s side, he stated how the emotional event was like an up and down rollercoaster, but at the end of the journey, the Holy Spirit invited him into a new life, which renewed his hope. Nevertheless, Hater (2017) disclosed how the grief process helped him become a stronger person who can now support others who are psychologically and physically suffering from a loss (Hater, 2017). Based on Hater’s (2017) viewpoint, he reported a positive way of overcoming bereavement and assisting others, although, counselors who are supporting grief, are obligated to be self-aware of their automatic responses that have developed from their previous experiences (Pomeroy & Garcia, 2009).
There is a great importance of theme and literary characteristics when attempting to connect various literary works, as it allows the reader to make a deeper connection and understanding of the stories. Although The Management of Grief by Bharati Mukherjee and Araby by James Joyce had incredibly diverse settings, one may connect the two by the similar themes shared in both works. Both authors also frequently use recurring imagery and main character point of view in their stories, to further the readers understanding of the themes. On the other hand, the stories can also be described as different through their settings, plot structures, and characters. The short stories have both similarities and differences when it comes to themes and literary characteristics. These two short stories showcase the diversity of writing as although the stories are quite different, both can be related through the authors styles of writing. The connection between these literary works proves that there is always a deeper meaning, despite their slight differences.
