Gun Control No doubt, America is one of the most powerful countries and the world’s economic power, but there are still many social issues that cause numerous debates and urgently need to be solved. For example, the increasing unemployment, racism, inequality and gun control. In recent years, shooting accidents happen frequently in the United States, which causes great concern about gun ownership and use in the whole society. Generally, there are two opposite attitudes towards gun control in the United States. On the one hand, some people firmly urge the government to restrict gun ownership and gun rights in order to avoid gun violence and perfect gun control laws. On the other hand, plenty of people still want to protect their rights to own guns. The United States should put more restriction on gun ownership and use, because safety problems, the high rate of gun-related crime and the loophole of gun control laws. Many people stress that they feel safer when carrying a gun or hiding it in the house. One of the reasons why they expect to own it is just to protect themselves from attacks. If an attack happens, they can protect themselves and their property when they own a perfect self-defense tool. Though their thought is understandable and common, actually, guns bring more harm rather than more protection from the whole perspective.
