Gun Violence In Ayn Rand's Anthem

One of the problems this nation faces is realizing that gun violence will most likely never be completely stopped. In order for this to happen the population would have to be placed in a community like one read out of a fictional book with autocratic government systems. The classic novel Anthem by Ayn Rand is a good example of how the United States could end up if gun control related laws are passed, leaving the people defenseless. No one wants anything like this to happen, so the job of the American citizen is to think of as many ways as possible to fix safety problems within their community, including ways to fix gun violence problems without eliminating guns entirely. There are many factors that show up time after time in most massacres. One of the factors that people focus most on are the different venues these murders happen. We must simply solve as many problems as possible to try to alleviate them for the greater good. Once the citizens have come to this harsh realization the government must put new laws into action. Automatic weapons must be made illegal. They are for killing large groups of people and no American citizen should have to have so much responsibility on their shoulders unless they are at war fighting for our country. Another solution is once again making a ban on large magazine capacities. Citizens should not be allowed magazines that hold more than 10 rounds. Anymore than that is an unnecessary amount. Some states recognize this and have similar laws, but others fail to realize how many live this potential law could save. It should be made countrywide in order to insure the safety of the people.
