SWOT Analysis
Headland Middle School is a Title I school located in Headland, Alabama. Headland is a small community located in Henry County, Alabama. We have 585 students in grades 6-8. We have about 49% of our students to receive free or reduced lunch. We have a diverse student population (African-American 35%, Hispanic 8%, White 55%, Multiracial 2%), which is make up of our community.
The teachers are highly qualified teachers with all teachers holding a bachelor's degree or higher. Our staff is a diverse group from a variety of backgrounds and traditional education programs.
Headland Middle School completed our School Improvement Plan in May 2014. The school leadership team, which consisted of parents, analyzed the 2013-14 School Improvement
Strengths Finder 2.0 identifies my top five strengths are adaptability, restorative, individualization, communication and strategic. I must use these strengths every day in my job and my home life. These strengths are apparent in all areas of my life both at work and home.
Headland Middle School completed our School Improvement Plan in May 2014. The school leadership team (including parents) reviewed the 2013-14 School Improvement Plan to assess if implemented strategies have been met. This information has been shared with faculty members and interested parents. In September 2013, the school leadership team and school faculty met to examine state assessment data and other data.
Chiles Elementary School’s improvement plan is a section about the School Advisory Council (SAC), such as the name of the members, which stakeholder group each member is in (e.g., parent, business/community, or teacher), and SAC’s involvement in school activities. One of SAC’s major involvements was reviewing the previous 2014-2015 school improvement plan in order to prepare the 2015-2016 school improvement plan, which was indicated in the plan. Also indicated in the school improvement plan are lists of names for different groups, such as the school leadership team and the literacy leadership team (LLT) and their specific duties. For example, the school leadership team is responsible for meeting weekly to discuss school business (e.g., behavioral issues, curriculum needs, or guidance needs) and make decisions about the school’s learning environment. The literacy leadership team; on the other hand, “is composed of the team leaders from each grade level” and is responsible for meeting “monthly to discuss literacy issues, needs, and how successful… students are with the current plan” (Lawton M. Chiles Elementary SIP 2015-2016, pg. 18). All these information indicates how important the school value collaboration between administrators-teachers, teachers-teachers, teachers-parents, and
goals from the School Strategic Plan from the previous year and our end of the year local data. Our
Jefferson High School has two major strengths. The first strength is that parents are supportive of the schools. It helps schools tremendously when parents offer support and can work with schools to better serve each student. Another strength is that the school is surrounded by thriving local businesses. These businesses are family owned and operated so the majority probably have families and in interest in the success of the district.
Texas A&M is known to be a university who welcomes diversity and welcomes anyone from out of state to come and get their education. It is said that demographic numbers published by the university in 2012, 96.6% of undergraduate students at Texas A&M are from Texas (10 Planet Earth). Considering this knowledge and the assumption of the many people’s life style are in Texas A&M. It will help deduce to a conclusion in finding out how many out- of-state vehicles are expected to be found in certain parking lots. Separating the Trucks and other vehicles as variables in this project is how it will be set up, and they will be categorized in how many of them are in Texas and out of state. Kennesaw State University (KSU), Kennesaw, GA is selected in this report to study, analyze and for the SWOT analysis. KSU is a public, coeducational, comprehensive university located approximately 20 miles north of Atlanta. The university has academic programs in business, education, nursing, criminal justice and sports management.
In education, the desired outcome is improved student performance. This is the most important function of the school organization. Backwards design tells us that our daily decisions should start with the question, “How will this improve student performance?” Another question is “What is improved student performance?” Many educators now agree that student performance is more than improved summative assessment scores. My educational philosophy is that the goal of public schooling is to create competent citizens who are independent problem solvers. To that end, part of my vision is to create students with the 21st century skills of collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking. Henry County schools identifies these as cross curricular graduation standards. My personal educational philosophy aligns with the Henry County mission of providing students with skills for life, that endure beyond what is needed for the next chapter or to prepare for the end of course test. My vision of student success is one that yields students who are ready to move into careers or college with a skill set that aligns to modern adult life. Here at Statesboro Middle School, we believe that having committed educators, high expectations, a shared vision, adult advocates, family and community partnerships, and a positive school climate will impact our students and teachers in the best way possible. Below are ways that we, Statesboro Middle School, will accomplish being successful in all of the aspects previously mentioned.

Operational excellence is important in delivering quality education using functional areas such as learn and grow, look after customer, look after share holder and the business process to excel which are assessed using a balanced scorecard for their performance. A quantitative technique used with the supported tools in the decision analysis process for making in a situation where uncertainty exists. Strutledge can perform decision analysis using simple excel or OM tools which is a quantitative tool that organizes into a payoff table. The SWOT analysis is a quantitative tool used in the decision analysis to access the impact of adding a new MBA and other Master of Science courses.
